Can't really go wrong with a Premier inn really. We had booked 3 three rooms between us and they were all next to each other (I've found in some places they can be floors apart). Nice little room. The bed is just the comfiest thing I've slept on and I am so tempted so see if I can buy one for myself! The shower was an absolute dream, so relaxing. The only problem is that during the night the room got a bit too warm and I couldn't work out on the thermostat how to turn it down but nothing really major. Staff on reception were ever so friendly, greeting us every time we left or returned and were generous when we asked for more teas and milks. Also in a very good location to the retail park next door, and only a short walk to a great curry house we found. If I'm ever back in Durham I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Having booked 2 nights for February, I needed to change my booking in a hurry. The website said no room, but on phoning the hotel directly (with phone charges involved), they had plenty of room. I think Premier Inn need to check their computer system as this could have led to them losing 2 nights B+B if I had decided not to bother phoning. On arrival, the staff could not have been more helpful from fitting us in and helping me get the heating going. We found that we needed an extra night, and this was sorted with little effort. I'm so grateful for all their help and have now booked to stay there again as I have a funeral to attend.

Excellent location, really easy to find despite the best efforts of the sat nav in my wife's car. Perfect as a base while we were visiting attractions in the area for a few days. Pub next door is a brewers fayre, offering great selection of different things to eat which is handy if you're away with the kids - or if you're not keen on that there's a whopping retail park just around the corner. Rooms were beautifully presented and spotless - a credit to the team. Premier Inn have got a bit tight with the coffee now though... Only two sachets? Luckily extra ones are available 😆 Love it, definitely go back.

The rooms are comfortable and quiet the only downside of visiting in summer is that there is no air conditioning. Just a fan and the windows only open a couple of inches so virtually useless. Bed is comfortable, good shower. There are only wall dispensers for gel and soap so take your own if you don't want to smell like disinfectant. Brewers Fayre a hundred yards away does all the food. Go for the meal deal which is well worth it.

Regular visitors to this Premier Inn but this time on arrival we're met by a rather gruff receptionist. Not a member of staff we've encountered before on our many stays and a little more etiquette would be beneficial after a journey of several hours. Otherwise, first time we've been located upstairs and noticed that there was no lift available? Could be mistaken but didn't see one or signs... Stay was enjoyable, other staff friendly and amiable and good location for Durham City, Arnison Centre retail park and road links. Brewers Fayre restaurant next door.

Clean and quiet, exactly as expected. Slightly tricky to navigate to if you're not familiar. Worth making sure you have exact location in the satnav, otherwise you'll end up in the Arnison Centre with no hope of escape. Not the best attitude from front desk on first interaction, but near faultless after that. Desk is not best designed, if someone is sat behind a monitor you will have no clue they are there.

Fairly utilitarian, standard - Premier Inn on the edge of a retail park - fare. Staff friendly; rooms clean but basic - all perfectly adequate for the price paid.

Typical premier inn, basic, clean, comfy-ish. Couldn't get the heating in the room right. it was either too cold or very stuffy. Resorted to sleeping with the window open . Was in a room next to a door in the corridor and could hear it every time someone went through. Could also hear people in the room next door. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the building across, food not always fully cooked, and not out until 8.15 am on a Saturday when we had to be away for 8.30, so that was a rush. On Sunday again, the black pudding was raw, and the sausages were very pale The location was good for what I needed. 15 minutes away from Brancepeth village hall. Through a couple or roundabouts and stay straight. A wee fyi if you're not used to it, that the area shops are not open before 10 am on a Sunday, which was a shock when we tried 2 lidls and a tesco for all to be closed!

Hotel is approx 2 miles out of Durham centre - taxis are not available on site or the nearby Arnison centre. Local taxis will charge between £10 & £12 for the journey to the city centre. Beware ordering a taxi is practically impossible between 08:00 and 09:15 on weekdays

Really great stay here. Staff were very friendly, the room was massive and very quiet at night. Bed was super comfortable, I had a great sleep. Breakfast in the morning was next door and was the usual help yourself buffet. Good quality food. Would defo stay there again.

We had a great stay. The lady at the check-in desk was lovely and friendly. The room was clean and spacious, and after being told you needed to put your room key in the light slot to use the lights 🙈 everything was great. The pub is next to a brewers fayre and when you check in the Lady offered to book us a table for our meals. Overall, it was a great stay at a great price.

Loved this place, only drawback I tried to book again a few days later and it was full. This has to be one of my favourite premier Inns, everything was superb, clean, quiet, and the bed was so comfy. Would highly recommend staying there,

Nice stay, rooms just lack air conditioning. Good parking and looks like EV rapid charger being installed too.

The hotel was great within a great location and plenty of parking. The staff were helpful and very friendly during our stay. The beds were comftable, with great night sleep had. The staay was great and great location for attractions and durham. Would recommend and stay again.

Having stayed at a premier Inn in Torquay, I was slightly disappointed, the durham Premier Inn ditusted in the district if Pity me was looking a bit tired in terms of decor, the carpets were slightly shabby and the cooked breakfast was dried out. I have to say the staff erred friendly and polite, the bathroom was clean but dated and very basic but bevet yhe keys distress job, lots of hot water but a bit short on bath towels, all in all if you want a cheap bed for the night, security and a bar the prices are reasonable so go for it but don't expect 5 * luxury 😀

Yet another great offering from Premier Inn. Even though it is set relatively close to a retail park, u have no idea once ur on site as it is set in wooded grounds with even the odd bunny or two! Ample parking, friendly staff and the restaurant next door offered great breakfasts even for gluten free guests like myself.

Stayed Friday 6th til Monday 9th October visiting family, staff at the hotel were lovely especially Ulia she was very helpful a bit of a mix up with rooms that were booked, rooms were a bit dated but clean we had the full breakfast very nice the meals were priced reasonable, would stay again but would require a mobility adapted room bath too deep for me.

I stay here regularly when visiting my son. The staff are really friendly & helpful, the room has always been clean & the food good at a decent price, again the staff are kind & helpful, as a woman traveling on her own I always feel safe.

Excellent location for when we visit family. Would be 5 stars but rooms are not air conditioned so in summer it makes them very warm especially when sharing a family room. Can't fault service though.

This place does exactly what it says on the tin..... Have always gone to premier inn when travelling. You know exactly what you are getting. The staff at the Pity me (strange name for an area I know!) premier inn in Durham are very helpful and friendly and despite not having used them for over a year, due to covid restrictions, still remembered me. Very impressed. Thank you! Happy to recommend them.

Worst hotel stay I think I've ever had. I've never reviewed a hotel previously but felt I had to this time. The walls are so thin (mentioned in other reviews) that you can hear the people above walking around and it is so loud. Sounds like the ceiling is going to collapse. The rooms I was in, the workers that were staying there all park their trucks right outside the window and start them up and idle them at 5am before leaving. The staff are lovely and advised they are common issues and they do receive lots of complaints. I did complain to Premier Inn as they promise a good night sleep but it doesn't apply unless you change room - so they don't have to compensate.

Really good experience, only the heating was a bit issue in the night. But rest if the things, entirely enjoyed, would recommend others. Really good service and very helping staff. Would love to go again.

If you’ve stayed in one then you’ve stayed in them all. Except this one seems to have the thinnest walls out of them all. I can hear people walking and talking upstairs, tv and talking in the next room, and the family with kids that think it’s ok to be banging about in the hallways until 11pm. Really disappointed with this one. That said staff are friendly here and at the resturant, rooms nice and the bed is comfortable.

Great staff, usual premier inn bed and facilities. I slipped in bath and flooded bathroom. Receptionists first response was to ask if I was ok. Not concerned about the room at all. Cleaner was lovely about it too. Great food at on site bar/restaurant

Lovely rooms, smart and very clean... Can be noisy on lower floor due to the wooden floor boards above... Not impressed with the meals or the choice in the adjoining beefeater, but the breakfast is very good...

Decent enough accommodation for a couple of nights. Only issue is eating in Brewers Fayre, not good if coeliac or other food intolerances, as only bread was suitable for my breakfast.

A beautiful hotel with fabulous staff. The rooms are very modern and spotlessly clean. The only downside is the sat nav directions on the website are incorrect as the road layout around the hotel has been changed. I strongly suggest you contact the hotel direct for an up to date local route through Pity Me town.

Great and simple family stay... walking distance to Durham Centre or 6 mins drive. Great clean room and friendly staff. Comfy bed Had a great and filling breakfast that set up a day at Beamish for us all. Stayed in family room as part of our holiday in the NE as we passed through Seaham, Kynren to Beamish

Rooms were spot on as you get to expect from premier inn. The food was good and the breakfast was the best we've had in a premier inn. The ladies Cara and Faye were lovely 😍

We stayed two nights in a disabled room with a wet room . The room was clean and comfortable .The room has plenty of room for manoeuvring around the room in a wheelchair . The wet room was all it should be , excellent . The bed was too low and soft not the usual mattresses we have had before when using Premier inn . There is a considerable walk from reception to the room which would benefit from a disabled system whereby you push a disabled button or censor control along the corridor for the fire doors to open and close would be very helpful . Staff were friendly and helpful . There was disabled parking right outside the main entrance . It was a little difficult to find , Sat Nav took us to a garage but with the help of a friendly gent outside the garage we soon found it . It’s been a very pleasant stay , quiet and restful .

One night stop over. Needed longer to explore the area in greater depth. So this was a fact finding mission. The out come means another visit in the near future.

In 5 years of using this hotel I've never had a bad stay, it's always been great. Never had a bad night's sleep, always slept like a log. The staff are lovely, the rooms are comfy and cosy, perfect for north east winters, but fine in the summer too. Bathroom is a good size for a hotel at this price and the rooms are always spotless. The attached brewers fayre staff are great too, with a reasonable drink selection, although the food can be hit and miss (it's got much better in recent years). The location is ok if you have a car, good for Durham and things around it, otherwise you'll struggle a little bit. Can't recommend enough (so long as you have a car)

Stayed at Premier Inn on many occasions and different locations and have always been happy with the hotel itself, rooms are always clean and staff are great, this one was no different with the added bonus of being next to a shopping centre and of course a pub, I always hope to get a room upstairs as you don't get the noise of people walking back and forward on the ceiling. Had a bath in the room which I prefer, BUT, what let this down for us was the location of the room itself, it was so so dark because we were in a corner gully with an overhang, the view from the window was a brick wall, was like being in a cave.
