Visiting Durham for the weekend and found this really lovely large, light and bright Starbucks. Great space to sit and relax in. Busy but tables were clean and staff friendly. We had a latte and hot chocolate with oat milk - both very nice and the normal Starbucks quality.

My boyfriend went into the shop and asked for a puppaccino- you know a little treat for our dog as we’ve gone on a long walk. The server was rude about it and had an awful attitude towards him saying ‘Oh is that all you want?’ ‘I better write that down incase i forget your order’ and continued to be rude by going to the other server (boy) and whispering, which has made my boyfriend very uncomfortable and unwelcome from this place. The customer service is bad from here and the management should do something about it, because if they’ve done that to us then they will probably continue to provide that kind of service to people. Disappointing.

Had a chocolate chip shortbread and a tall soya latte. Tasted very nice and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Tables are free early in the day.

Drinks are nice although the standard can vary. I love the addition of the new vegan options. Most of the staff that have been there a while are just not so nice though. I asked if they could please reheat my drink once and they responded rudely saying they couldn’t without explaining why. The service is also inefficient because multiple staff members seem to be moving between different roles, so there will be no one at the till at times, because the till person will be packing food. Not a bad place to study, although the WiFi just doesn’t work and the tables are not cleaned very often.

Fave place, staff are super friendly. Starting to get to know them and they know my order as soon as I walk in the door! Gives it that personal touch which is always nice.

Good sized Starbucks in the centre of Durham. The staff were friendly and the service was quick and easy!

Spacious, bright, Starbucks quality beverage (we enjoyed our chai latte). Seems clean.

It's a Starbucks. Usually plenty of space and seats available, staff happy to make adjustments re drinks though they've gotten my name wrong so much I often give a nickname instead for takeout.

Too noisy due to chairs being constantly dragged across the floors to reposition them. Too cold near the door area also.

Nice atmosphere but no seats to sit, service took a while and so did getting the drinks. It was confusing for your first time there.

Rude staff, the dark haired female staff member serving looked at us like we should know every detail of the drinks menu and shouldn't need to ask questions and when asking the male staff member if we could please have a tray to carry the drinks to our table, he looked at us and rudely replied that he was going to get us one when finished. Not welcoming at all and tables full of empty cups from previous customers

First time in starbucks today arnison Durham. Staff are amazing extremely friendly and can't do enough for you! Customer service is amazing . Thanks for your hospitality!

It's a Starbucks. Coffee is fine (get the filter, 350mg caffeine in a grande), food is fine (especially the muffins), you don't go there for the atmosphere. Wrong side of the river in Durham, but ok if you're walking to/from the station...

Come in on the regular, the staff are absolutely wonderful, always friendly and very fast! The drinks themselves are consistently great but the tables are always full of cups and are sticky to the touch. I work in hospitality myself and I know how crazy it can get on busy days, but I’ve been in on quiet mid week days and there are still cups and rubbish on tables, come on guys you can spare two minutes to wipe down a table and pick up a few cups.

Recently refurbished Starbucks in Durham is placed just before the bridge. Staff are very friendly, dog friendly which is great and they can do mini dog cream pupachino which my dog loves. Staff are ok but don't appear to be very motivated to clear up and would rather talk to each other. Coffee was bland and half full 🤷‍♂️. Full of students so good of your a student

Was pretty disappointed. The drink (psl) was okay, although it was mostly whipped cream. Service at the counter was fine, but it was so hard to find a clean/clear table. ONLY the communal table in the middle was cleared. There were three servers chatting away behind the counter, none of which made any move to actually clear tables. One reluctantly went out after a good 15 mins but cleared only a few tables to then stand back and lean behind the counter. Not sure what happened, this Starbs used to be great and used to hold a lot of fond memories with friends.

The coffee is lovely but the atmosphere in here is quite dull. The service is slow and the tables and chairs were quite dirty. I didn't see anyone clean up. Not terrible but would choose elsewhere.

Cinnamon bun bit dry coffee was good. Had made with almond milk good selections of milk alternatives.,but no lactose free milk.know very busy starbucks and lots of students using free WiFi so sitting with one drink for very long time. Think maybe they should have time limit on them just so other people can actually get a seat.sure some would be in over an hour, very noisy still cos even those students not working sitting for long time cuddling cup of coffee and talking forever ,these little more irritating than those working g cos was at least area where they could sit with laptops and work which is great idea.

Nice and clean shop with plenty to choose from. Staff are friendly and helpful and even gave us free drinks when they could only take card on that day. Definitely recommend this Starbucks more than others!

Lovely store in middle of durham. Quiet despite it being a busy night when we went. Plenty of seating space for those who want to make getting a coffee a trip.

It was my first time going in this Starbucks (Durham) . It was by far the best one I've been to in UK. The staff were friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere. Would definitely go back and recommend. 5****

Amazing Coffee! SO SLOW only one person at the coffee machine why? COVID-19 restrictions are relaxed now!

The coffee isn't to my liking, they had a mess of stuff blocking chairs and making the place look untidy. The service was very normal and a little slow. Nothing fancy or particularly good about this place. Very normal and standered coffee shop, in Durham there are lots of better places to get a coffee.

Usually super great coffees I go here almost every week. The last one I had it was busy and the java chip frap was literally just watery coffee and ice usually it's super great . That's why only 4 stars and usually I can't fault it .
