Fantastic authentic Italian restaurant in Sunderland overlooking the River Wear. We had cocktails on the balcony with great river views. Cocktail menu is extensive and exciting - I had my first burnt orange Serena! We were served by Caterina who was friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. She made excellent recommendations for both my cocktail and my main course. The food is delicious. We will definitely return!

Lovely place next to the river. If you go for outdoor seating, you can get a nice table overlooking the river. The food here was quite tasty and the portions also were quite filling. I had the night’s special smoked burratta for starters and the green soul pizza for mains. Both of these dishes are a must try! The cocktails are also quite interesting. However, some of them might be quite strong.

Enjoyed a fantastic evening here on Bank Holiday Saturday. Gorgeous views over the river, fantastic live music and very friendly staff. Pizza is absolutely delicious - lovely sourdough base and deep tasty filling. Will be back!

Katarina and Francesco please move down to Walsall !! The service was excellent the menu extensive. The cocktails were excellent. The food cooked just perfectly. I asked for gluten free pasta and was cooked to perfection. Our whole meal was very tasty and not expensive. Was good to speak to people who came from parts of Italy we have visited.

This is an excellent place to eat and enjoy both your food and your drinks. Staff is very friendly and we had a great time there! I'm sure it will be our go-to place from now on! Thank you for this Italian experience!

Great place. When we were here they had the terrace open with a jazz band. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Menu is great with some unusual dishes alongside some old favourites. Also make sure you have a cocktail or two as they are fantastic!

This restaurant was great! There was a welcoming ambiance and stunning views from our seats. The food was absolutely delicious and definitely the best meal we've had recently 😋 Considering the quality of the food, the price was very reasonable. Great service, from helpful, friendly staff. I would highly recommend a visit to Knowledge Restaurant and we will definitely be back, when visiting Sunderland again.

Decor and view from windows were beautiful. The cocktail menu itself is exquisite. Finely put together amazing flavours. The cocktails are actually devine, beautifully presented and not shy on the alcohol. So decor, view, music, staff, cocktails and drinks menu 10/10 Sunday roast verdict - can I just say I don't usually eat my mash on a roast I'm so not a fan however this may be the best mash I have tasted ever so thank you. The beef was beautifully cooked not dry at all, I weren't keen on the veg it had a funny aftertaste the broccoli and carrots and there wasn't much. Yorkshire and gravy were fab aswell 👌 7.5/10 The American Sniper burger was huge and was really tasty. Pulled pork and cheesy croquette. Served with skin on fries rated a good 8/10 Creme brulee for dessert. 😍 oh my. This was 10/10 no words. It was served with a chocolate sort of mouse/thick cream which was absolutely beautiful 😍 Overall 9/10 such a nice place I was pleasantly surprised for Sunderland. This has upped the game for SR dining. Thank you for having me.

We had my wife's birthday here and it was a terrific night. The food is authentic Italian by Italians! The staff were brilliant and Davide the barman is very knowledgeable and great at making cocktails. Definitely recommend so much so we've booked Christmas lunch here

Really nice atmosphere, staff, food was top notch and very affordable. Authentic pasta made the dishes. Hot drinks after were so nice. View over river to add to the dining experience. Guarantee you'll want to go back.

Beautiful location on the River front. Lovely decor inside, attentive friendly staff. Food was delicious, and reasonably priced, perfect location for a romantic evening meal or night with friends/family. Cocktails looked amazing and the latte was yummy.

Really great Italian food - the real deal for anyone who enjoys good food and service. Just a short walk from the town centre gives the venue great views too. They offer a wide selection of starters (including generous sharing platters), pasta, pizza and much more. Really authentic recipes and delicious fresh ingredients make choices a challenge. Staff (especially Davide, Caterina and Stella) were extremely helpful and made great recommendations. We enjoyed their wide selection of drinks (wines, beers, cocktails and soft) and would not hesitate to head back as soon as we can.

Fantastic lunch today in Knowledge. Lovely freshly made pasta with delicious meatballs, the tomatoes sauce was to die far . Starters was fresh grilled squid , straight from the fish quay in Sunderland. All washed down with a bottle of red wine. The prices are excellent and the service exceptional.

What a lovely place with a lovely view. Haven't been down the east end for years. Much improved area. Restaurant is lovely, food excellent as is the service. Not sure about music mind! Will definitely go again. In fact will investigate other places down there.

Absolute gem of a restaurant located in The Boar's Head in Sunderland. The food was phenomenal, staff were brilliant. Highly recommend a trip there..

Omg! Just had The knowledge fillet steak - totally lush. Simply one of the best steak meals I've ever had! Service was excellent and very helpful/friendly. It's the first time I've visited (came with family and we all greatly enjoyed our meals ) would very much recommend and will definitely return 👍👍👍👍
