Very interesting quaint bar that has a courtyard in the middle. Extremely interesting. They have a menu that contains a bunch of different whiskeys, vodkas, wine and other drinks. I thought the menu book was pretty cool where they describe the origin of different drinks and also have interesting anecdotes and quotes. The service was very good and the bartenders are very knowledgeable. It was a quiet night when I went in and the atmosphere was very different from typical bars that you go to. Go here if you want to have a quiet night and escape the hordes of young kids.

Wonderful vibe and great drinks. Service is amazing and they waiter recommended us local options to try. I'm not sure they have food but if they don't they should consider adding it to the menu.

My favorite bar in Split! The atmosphere is chill and cool, the staff is really friendly. Tin and Diego are always doing the best service they can! Wine is great and lovely selection of beers. Love this place and will continue to visit!

I spent a lovely hour and a half reading poetry, drinking wine, and learning some history about the brilliant Dalmatian poet and father of Croatian literature, Marko Marulić Splićanin. I will have to come back again while I am staying here in Split. It was an inviting bar with great music, a friendly cat, an atrium inside for smokers, and an awesome selection of drinks and literature. The prices were fair as well! It was the perfect place to mourn the loss of the brilliant novelist Anne Rice just this last week. Also a homey hole-in-the-wall to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first LOTR movie. I highly recommend for anyone in Croatia who is interested in literature, history, and good jazz music. Update from 2022! Still my favorite bar in the city. So chill and they had a wonderful history book I needed to discover. Wonderful!

A fantastic, cosy and cool bar with lovely staff. It’s hard to find service with a smile in Croatia due to long working days, heat, tourist behaviour and economic problems, but they were amazing! Diego, the barman, helped us especially, with great service and dinner suggestions. A must!

Such a lovely place! We ended up staying almost 3 hours. Listen to Jazz music while having a glass of wine and read a book! The gentleman who took our orders was very friendly, he recommended us books to read in French & English, plus local poetry. Not only is there a library for you to choose from, you can also play chess and cards, play the piano and guitar if you can. We recommend the seating area outside - just lovely 😊

The concept of live music jazz bar in a library that is inside an historic site with really old and beautiful interior basically worked magic on all my senses. And the bartender/dj/librarian lady was so professional, yet friendly! Definitely suggest!

Fun little place to enjoy a drink while taking a break from your vacation or family or just because. Reasonable prices. Don’t let the 78 page menu intimidate you…lean in and have some fun with it.

A fantastic cozy bar. Perfect atmosphere, lovely friendly staff and a nice place to spend a few hours drinking coffee and reading, or equally having some wine and making friends. Menu layout is fun and unique, but staff are super helpful in understanding it and suggesting drinks!

Lovely little jem hidden in the old part of the town, so cozy and warm. Excellent selection of drink, very friendly staff. Perfect for relaxing and appreciating Roman architecture. You can enjoy a game of chess or read of the books from their library

5 stars! Need I say anymore? Went there 3 times in my ten day stay. The music the wine the staff .. loved every bit of it. And the icing on the cake was the live band !! Beautiful violin and guitar mix for some country rhythms. It gets quite packed so I would advise to go early in the evening. Beautiful memories owed to this place ❤️

Brilliant place with extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff, tucked away slightly from the tourist crowds. Lots of thought given to the details of the place really embracing its history - ie the menu is an amazing book style piece with writing along with each drink. Definitely worth a visit

Lovely bar at the city center, very close to the City Museum. Very rich offer of various drinks to enjoy in a cozy atmosphere. The bar is placed in a historical palace, where one of the most important croatian reneissance poet Marko Marulić lived. There are a lot of books and board games and pleasant music. The prices are more or less like in any bar of the city center. It's a must when visiting Split or living there.

Great find in Slpit old town. Charming hole-in-the-wall bar located in a historic building. Good whiskey selection. For us it was a great escape from swarms of tourists and cookie-cutter restaurants. It's small, but has a couple of tables in a tiny inside courtyard, couple tables by the bar and 5 bar sits. Live music every evening. Jazz themed.

Fantastic lttle jazz bar with an excellent collection of local wine. We were lucky enough to enjoy some live music here and meet some wonderful people including the staff who are very helpful and welcoming. A must visit in Split old town!

Lovely atmosphere. Delish cocktail. Friendly service service but it did take a bit to flag waitstaff down. Goes with the mellow vibes.

A beautiful, intricate spot with very calm and chilled atmosphere. Perfect for a temporary step away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Located in a gorgeous part of the palace, with an excellent selection of drinks and local liquors. Speak easy vibes with homage to literary and historical greats.

A classy bar located in the former home of the Croatian poet Marco Marulic or Marcus Marulus, in Latin (hence the name.) Large selection of beer, wine and cocktails. Attentive and polite service. The place is kind of difficult to find in the winding alleys of old Split, and as far as I know it has no AC so it can get stuffy. Still, one of the more pleasant bars in the environs of the old palace.

The coziest bar we found in Split. Very fair prices, cool music, clean, friendly staff.

Great atmosphere! Very cozy place with different seating areas. We played some chess and there was live music. The service made my favorite cocktail for me on request: old fashioned.

This place has my heart in Split! ❤️ Fantastic quaint bar with an interior courtyard, lovely service, a big bookshelf with books and games, and jazz music on the background. Most nights they have live music, and the place just comes to life with the voice of the musicians or the sounds of the guitars. We went there almost every evening for a whole week - it really is the perfect place to enjoy a late night drink, or a lovely coffee!

What a great find. Tucked into one of the narrow walkways in the palace is this very quaint drinks and coffee bar. The drink menu is a book with great little stories and quotes. There are books decorating the walls and comfortable seating areas. We could have stayed all day!!

A great hideaway bar, away from the hustle and bustle from central Split. If you’re after a good wine, in a low key setting with some decent jazz music this is your spot. Excellent bar to unwind after a busy day exploring!

A true hidden gem in Split. The atmosphere is cozy and charming, with a unique blend of library charm and jazz bar style. The music is great and perfectly matches the atmosphere. Diego, the bartender, is a very nice guy. If you're looking for a special place to spend the evening, where you can enjoy good music, drinks and chat with friends, Marvlvs is the perfect match. I highly recommend visiting Mrvlvs. It's my favorite bar in the city.

The menu is very confusing - it's a whole book with page-long descriptions of different types of alcohol. It wasn't clear exactly what this place had to offer. The negroni was not good.

This was such a plasent and surprising descovery. We were walking one of the magical little ulica of Split, when the sound of Jazz coming out of Marvlvs Library Jazz Bar drew us in. The atmosphere and even more so the bartenders were very friendly and we ended up sitting at the bar drinking good local spirits and chatting to them. A must for people who appreciate authenticity.

This place is so cool! I went during a quiet afternoon/early evening and the staff was super friendly and shared with me the history of the building, the bar, and the writer it’s named after. Great drinks list, cozy places to sit, and of course the local cat is very cute.

THE bar in Split. Amazing wine with probably the most unique atmosphere inside. Hard not to fall in love with this place

Lovely little spot, bartender was very friendly. Some cat came to chill with us. Was great. You can buy cigars and smoke in the small outdoor area which has a real old town vibe to it. Old Town, Split is such a cool place.

Super cool bar. Cosy & intimate with great service. The menu book itself is really worth reading for all the cool & wonderful text. Main bartender (owner?) was very friendly & helpful with recommendations for the local spirit (brandy) rakija absolutely lovely. Music is cool, staff is great. Picked up a t-shirt as a momento.

This place is something locals avoid and don’t even know about. The beer selection is limited to Guinness and local Pan beer, both overpriced. Cocktails go for $15 or more. Service is mediocre if not bad and rude

Inspiring, cozy bar with drinks from all over the world. It's a great place for a date or meet up with friends, the staff is super friendly and speaks Spanish as well. Surprisingly a nice place to get alternative souvenirs in Split!

Quirky without being pretentious. Lovely service. Do take the time to read the book serving as a menu. The story of the place is one of love.

On our last day in Split we had a few hours to kill and decided to grab a cocktail here. It ended up being my favorite spot in Split! It’s a unique bar with comfortable seating. The library theme made it all the more special. Staff were friendly and the cocktail was delicious. Great prices as well. Nice escape from the other touristy bars.

👍👍 The wings were bbq style saucy and a little spicy. I love spicy so I asked for hot sauce and the waiter brought over a trio of their own signature hot sauces.
