Split viewpoint (belvedere)

Tourist attraction Scenic spot

👍👍 Not the most intense hike (you do climb, but I didn't find it too steep) and relatively close to the city compared to other viewpoints and you already have a nice view! People often mention view, Split, walk, worth, climb, beautiful, viewpoint, park, amazing, stairs,

Great spot! Easy, well maintained stairs to the top. Only takes about 5 minutes to make it to the top. So worth it! 1-2 cafes at the viewpoint for drink or food.

The belvedere offers one of the best views overlooking the Split Riva and harbor. Access on foot can be gained from the Marjan Hill Stairs at the western end of the Riva. It's a short steep climb but worth the effort. The best time for pictures is usually late afternoon and evening. The viewpoint is also an unofficial entry point to Park Sûma Marjan - a large forested natural park offering 360 degree views, hiking and biking trails and historical churches. A great place to escape the tourist crowds.

A very beautiful spot to have a viewpoint to Split and Riva. The walk takes 10 minutes from Riva and it is worth the climb as the way up there is also beautiful with many stone houses. Right next to the belvedere there is a café with the same nice view. The prices are OK so you can enjoy drinks and food if you wish. I recommend the spot.

Great experience! Amazing view. The walk however is tiring when going up. Going down its a lot easier. Keep in mind google maps doesn't show the right directions. It shows you can take your car to the view point, but you can't. Also, the walk isn't correct either.

A must when in Split. Great viewpoint. The walk to get here can be quite enjoyable. The view from Split from here is just amazing, and the bay from the Adriatic sea and the islands further down the horizon is just beautiful. You can also just walk/jog through the park and have an amazing day. Enjoy it.

Nice view of the whole Split city. Very hilly to get there unless by car.

Absolutely amazing riviera. We had fun walking around. I’d recommend getting a place to stay around the Riva so that you can enjoy the views and restaurants.

Split in Croatia, is quite a beautiful place to visit. The hotel we stayed in Split was just infront of the ocean and we had a great time in there beautiful beach. Split has many beautiful beaches and its national park is amazing. It is a combination of ocean and mountain view when you drive there. I would suggest to rent a car from the airport so that you can travel anywhere you like. Foods are good and reasonable if you choose the right restaurants.

Very lovely views and amazing pictures. A lot of stairs so be prepared for that, but it is very worthy of the climb.

Great viewpoint if you don't want to go walk all the way to the top of Marjan. There are a lot of stairs though so grab a waterbottle just in case ^^'

The view is great, however the location isn't accurate, better to drive 100m more and have better place to stand and enjoy the view. Further more its not an official viewpoint, you just stand over the road side rail

Short walk from Old Town, less than 15 mins. Views are awesome and there is a whole national park up there you can walk through for hours if you so choose. Good photo ops.

a beautiful place to get at good view over Split. During the summer the walk up here is extremely hot and demanding. But it was worth it.

I quickly passed by and stopped only for couple of minutes, but view was breathtaking, you could see harbor and most of the city coast from up there! It is definitely worth to climb up there, as well as it is on the way to Marjan park, which is amazing too. There are some taps to get water on the way from Matejuška, usually climbing takes some time and taking couple of sips makes the journey more enjoyable.

Amazing views of Split from this vantage point. There are many stairs to get here, but it’s worth the climb. It’s also right at the park entrance, so worth stopping here for a look about. There are two others like this inside the park.

Super view. Must visit at the time of sunset and initial night time. Nice coffee bar near by. One can climb steps or come by car. It's tricky to click photos on mobile so if you have DSLR, it's preferred. Breath taking view, don't miss it.
