Across from the Silver Gate of the Diocletian Palace is Saint Dominic’s Church. First mentioned in the 13th century, it acquired its current structure in 1682 and was widened at the beginning of the 19th century. See the preserved baroque altars, the painting of the ‘Miracle in Suriano’ by Jacopo Palma Jr and the ‘Vision in the Temple’, as well as the gothic crucifix. Mass: 07:00, 08:00, 18:30, Sunday 07:00, 08:00, 09:00, 10:00, 11:00 and 18:30. The period between July and September there will be no mass at 11:00 . Open Open 06:30 - 12:00, 17:30 - 19:00. The Split Archaeological Museum is the oldest museum in Croatia when it was established in 1820 by a decree of the Dalmatian government in Zadar.[1] Some 150,000 artifacts cover prehistoric times, the period of Greek colonization of the Adriatic, Roman Provincial and Early Christian era to the early Middle Ages and the period of Croatian popular rulers. There is a collection of stone inscriptions from Salona and the collections of Graeco-Hellenistic ceramic objects, Roman glass, ancient clay lamps, bone, and metal articles, gems and coins.

The church impresses with its architecture. Inside it looks like an ancient Roman Catholic shrine. Inside the temple, I highly recommend sitting and praying, leaving the hustle and bustle of the street.

Old church with monastery. Quiet and spritual place in the middle of crowdy Split.

Mass service is a normal thing, but aside from that - see the paintings of Christ’s Road of the Cross. Contemporary, unusual. An example - Station 6: St. Veronica

Thank you God for your sign in this church in summer 2013. My life since then as changed and it was the starting point of searching for yourself all around the world. You're the King and Almighty God.
