St.Jerome church on Marjan Hill is one of several well preserved churches you will find in the park. This dates back to the 15th century and is a 3km walk from Split town. Behind the church you'll also see the Hermitage Caves carved into the cliff face. You'll also get great views of the sea and islands from the elevated viewpoint.

Nice little church from 15th century on the southern slope of Marjan hill. And above it in the cliffs there is small place for hermit monks (person who lives in seclusion from society, usually for religious reasons).

Old church on the mountain side. Not sure if this is the exact one but there are many cliff monasteries along the way.

Well worth a visit as you hike up or down the hill. Interesting looking “rooms” built into the cliff above it.

Great place to go for a walk close by from the center of Split and even do some great scenic rock climbing on a great limestone. Marjan is a place to visit.

I found this place a bit of an anti climax. It’s a long walk from the gates where you have to leave the car, this isn’t a problem but make sure you take plenty of fluids and it’s all hills not flat. When you get here it’s basically windows and doors in a cliff. You can’t get through them which is why I only gave 3*

I can warmly recommend this peaceful place in Split. You can stop your car down the road and then walk up the hill. It'll take 10-15 mimutes to walk up and find the church

Very interesting site with both the church and the hermits cave. The views are beautiful and the setting in the cliff is very scenic. The only disappointment was that both were locked when I visited.

Fantastic place hidden under the mountain. If not for the sign, then it can be passed by, but you must see it. Authentic church of the 15th century together with the Hermitage Caves, carved into the rock. This is a very atmospheric place where you can feel the tranquility with a wonderful sea view.

Amazing little spot along our walk down to the beach! Great views and a secluded little hermitage. Imagine building and living there!
