Very good location, in center of the old town inside the Diocletian's palace. The reason this is my second stay here, and probibly will return again is the very friendly, welcomed and helpful staff. The rooms are simple, but nice and clean. Excellent breakfast.

The hotel is well located. That’s the only positive feature I can find. We booked for 4 nights. After only one day they made us change rooms because they gave us the wrong one. We didn’t receive any compensation for the inconvenience, that was entirely their fault. We had to spend time in the morning packing our luggages and miss time we would prefer spending sightseeing.

I stayed at the Slavija Hotel and my experience was fantastic! I stayed for 5 nights and the whole time I felt welcomed by the staff, which is very kind and helpful! The rooms and all other facilities where I was at some point were very clean and in good conditions. Furthermore, the location of the hotel is very good as it is in the very center of the city, inside the Diocletian's palace, where you can feel the magic of the town every morning you wake up! Thanks Slavija!

Incredibly friendly staff, beautiful room with a little balcony and view. Prime location next to the water and in beautiful old town. This is definitely the hotel to stay at while in Split. Dog friendly is an understatement as well, the whole staff loved our boy despite him being shy.

I love this place because it is conviniently located inside Diocletian's palace and the moment you step outside you are in the middle of hustle and bustle of the street. It is excellent for young people who want to go out. Those wanting peace and quiet should go elswhere. Everyone is coming and going out and you hear steps around the hall all night. That is the only drawback.

Great hotel! The room was big and clean with good air conditioning. We also got a huge balcony. What impressed me the most was the staff. Super friendly, helpful people! Our flight got cancelled and we had to find a place to stay for one more night during a super busy time. They had no rooms available at Slavija or anywhere else, so the receptionist and hotel manager spent a long time searching and calling around to help us find a place. They offered us to stay in their conference room for the night if we didn’t find a place as well as some snacks, both free of charge! Fortunately we found a place after a few hours. We had a great experience staying here and have absolutely no complaints about this hotel. Highly recommend!!

This place bills itself as the oldest hotel in Split. Don't worry - it has done an excellent job of keeping up-to-date and is a clean. comfortable and classy small hotel. Staff are truly outstanding and went above and beyond in helping us sort transfers, PCR tests, etc. Rooms appear a little on the small side but still plenty of room to move around and, being an old building, the design has made good use of existing features and layout. I particularly liked the headboard map of exactly where you are sleeping on top of the Roman ruins! Location is perfect, a short walk from where a taxi will drop you and an easy walk from ferry and bus station. Around 50-100 metres from the main central areas and historic buildings, you are just far enough away to not be disturbed by the noise. Our room had a big terrace on the same level as the reception. A lovely way to spend a few hours with a Kindle and a bottle. No real complaints about our stay. There is a trade-off in coming to a small hotel in terms of pool/fitness centre/whatever, but I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The restaurant is fine but not great. Breakfasts are good and we had a pleasant evening meal but there are better to be had in Split. However, nothing to prevent a five-star review here.

Built on an old Roman spa the hotel is absolutely well maintained and right in the heart of split. We had a triplet room with 3 beds . The staff was helpful and there was a hot water kettle in the room . The bathroom was a bit tiny but ok . Note the car cannot come to the hotel so you need to walk from The taxi stand area but a short walk . Google map can help you find it . Highly recommend !

Hotel Slavija is located in the Old Place and is beautifully furnished. The location is very central to shopping and countless restaurants. The staff have been very friendly and helpful and our room looked out over the bell tower and roof tops. We would love to come back again.

Hard to find after 2 travel days but Julia on the front desk was FANTASTIC. Would recommend this hotel but only for room away from ground level , noisy . Room was clean . Breakfast was sufficient . Close to port for travelling and in a beautiful part of the old town .

Overall, a very nice hotel. The location is very central. However, there was very loud music from next door all night (We are aware the hotel can’t do anything about it). The air condition filters are not cleaned and it was smelling.

Loved the location of this hotel. Rooms were great. The only drawback was the noise. There are several restaurants right there and noise was quite loud till 3:30 AM and then it started with workers at 7:40 AM. Difficult to sleep with noise. Only complaint we had.

A modern hotel with old roots, located inside the Old City, helmed by very helpful staff. Our room on level 1 is very compact, with a shower cubicle and standard furnishings. There is no kettle in the room to boil water - it’s a shame as we have to use bottled water which is not very environmentally friendly. There is also no safe in the room. Breakfast, included, is a standard buffet but with the added perk of cook-to- order eggs. Hotel Slavija is located on top of its restaurant, Para Di Soto. There are also a few restaurants in the same area. Its location inside the Old City is very convenient - but that can be its biggest drawback. The church bells tolls at 6 am. Followed by the noise of delivery carts rattling on the paved stone way and the sound of a city awakening. The hustle bustle doesn't really stop until after midnight. Note: The ferry from Dubrovnik arrived at around 9 pm, its already dark and we would have difficulty finding the hotel without the aid of Google Map. The Old City is a maze of alleys and can be difficult to navigate.

I love this place!!! it's an adorable small hotel, inside the old palace walls. you can walk to a lot of great stuff from here, no problem. The rooms are simple but fine and the breakfast is excellent. The people who work here are so friendly and helpful, I couldn't believe it. they did research on how to get to the islands and made a list for me and then arranged for a personal guide for a day trip. And the guide was very reasonable. Just incredibly friendly. I love Croatia, I love Split and I love Hotel Slavija.

Great location in the old city once you find it. We arrived after dark after 20 hours of flying and took a while to navigate the crowds with our luggage over cobbled streets. Hotel staff were excellent and room was clean and comfortable. Having a small terrace to sit outside in the evening was very nice.

Great location, friendly staff. Room was very nice - modern with large window. I would stay here again. Breakfast was okay.

We stayed here 4 nights and it was great! Right in the Old Town, actually a part of Diocletian’s Palace. Modern, ample sized room with a balcony. Front desk was extra helpful, especially Marija.

Hotel Slavija, only a 10 minute walk from either the bus or train station, is a quality hotel in a prime location within what was Diocletian's Palace many moons ago. I want to give it 4 and a half out of 5 because of service as the staff were friendly, patient, helpful when needed and relaxed. The rooms were basic, clean and sufficient in size for a couple. There was an excellent airconditioner and a spacious bathroom (the bath had a challenging height for older legs to negotiate). Our TV, of considerable size, did not work at first and a quick word to reception fixed the issue. We weren't too concerned as we did not travel to Split to watch TV. Attached to Slavia is the Para Di Soto restaurant. This supplies free breakfast to guests and offers 10 percent off for guest's meals at lunch and dinner. Highly recommend this place.

Friendly staff, good air conditioning, and clean. On the downside, breakfast is a very simple meal and the bed has was probably older than me.. I am over 50.. You also get to be in good shape staying there.. Hence the stairs up to the reception 😊

I was thrilled to find the location is so close to the water yet still within the Palace!! The reception( all 4 I met) were so helpful!! They lent me charger blocks as I had left mine on a boat!! The shower is great with full power after being on a boat for a week. Very clean room, comfy bed!! Definitely recommend it!!

😠 DO NOT STAY HERE. As soon as I walked into my hotel room I got on my phone and tried to find an alternate hotel. This was by far the worst hotel I have ever seen. Says its a 4 star hotel but should be a 2 star. Walked into my room and there were stains all over the carpet- very very dirty. Requested...
