From the moment my travel partner and I arrived at the Splendida Palace, we were welcomed with the type of attention and service one can only hope for. I cannot sing the praises of Marija and their staff enough. Smiles, suggestions, attentiveness, care, kindness, cleanliness, positivity... every encounter with the hotel staff was of a standard you don't come to expect. While this hotel property is in some way humble, we felt as though we were in fact staying at a very fine world class five-star branded hotel. Every detail was looked after; from full service at breakfast, to restaurant recommendations, supplies when we wished not to be disturbed left outside of our room door, secure and dedicated parking spaces, suggestions for sightseeing, etc... And it was all provided with a sense of passion for their occupation and a desire to please us (the guest). The hotel is perfectly located just outside of Split's ancient centre. This made accessing the most popular sites of the city incredibly easy. The hotel's location is both somewhat elevated and in a picturesque laneway, this provided us with a beautiful view of Split and the harbour whilst ensuring our sleep was never interrupted by noise from outside. Our room was spacious, professionally detailed with amenities and comfort objects and designed to highlight local history. If I ever return to Croatia again, it will surely be for two things: the delicious Gregada (Croatian seafood stew) I had at a konoba in Split, and to stay once more at the Splendida Palace so I can feel like a king again. Thank you to Marija and her staff for making our time in Split so very special. I cannot sing your praises enough for the generous hospitality you demonstrated when I was your guest. Καλή Συνέχεια!

Thank you so much to Marija and the staff at Splendida Palace! Firstly, we were late arriving on Sunday 21st of July, Marija stayed later so we could check in and welcomed us with open arms and a smile. She showed us around the hotel and gave us some information. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, fresh and so tasty. All of the staff were so friendly. The hotel was spotless clean and the rooms were so spacious and clean. My favourite thing about this hotel was the smell in the rooms and around the place, whatever it was, it was amazing!! We would recommend this beautiful hotel to our family and friends coming to Split. It was a short walk to the old town, but still quiet enough to relax! Thank you so much guys x

What a great place! We stayed one night — wish it had been more. A warm welcome from the staff, super clean room with air conditioning that worked in the 90 degree plus heat, very short walk to Diocletian’s palace . The breakfast was so much more than I expected. I highly recommend Splendida Palace. Everything about it was absolutely splendid.

We stayed 3 nights and it was very comfortable. Our room was generous in size and the amenities were excellent. Breakfadt is all a la carte, which can be frustrating when you want a quick breakfast. But all the breakfast items we had were delicious and well prepared. The location is ideal for anyone wanting to explore the old Palace, just a couple of minutes walk to the green markets and the east entrance to the palace.

What can I say other than, WOW! It is no wonder it is the number 1 rsted hotel in all of Split! This hotel is phenomenal. It has all the amenities and options of a much larger chain hotel, but felt perfectly small, personal and intimate. It was perfect from start to finish, the room was fantastic. It was spotless, comfortabke and had everything we needed. The terrace is perfect for an evening glass (or bottle) of wine or a dip in the pool. The breakfast was incredible with a huge array to choose from including cooked breakfast made to order. It is only a short, easy walk from the old town, shops, restaurants, Palace, beaches etc, but in a rather quite and almost secluded part of Split. In all my years of travelling I have never known service quite like what we received at this hotel. All of the staff were amazing and are an absolute credit to the hotel. Marija was particularly amazing. It literally had everything and I have already told all of my friends and family about it. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

We stayed for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Marija and Michaela and all the staff were so kind and helpful. Fantastic restaurant suggestions. Great breakfast - which we gradually reduced as the days went on because there was so much food.

Splendida Palace was a perfect place to stay during our time in Split. Marja was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help ensure our trip was amazing - from constant communication regarding directions and parking, to touches like a local Croatian wine left in our room to celebrate our honeymoon. She helped us phone a restaurant and secure a restaurant booking prior to our trip and also gave us tips on sightseeing activities and the best gelato in town. Thank you Marja and Splendida!

A boutique family hotel of the highest standard right next to the Palace, even with free parking! The manager Marija was wonderfully communicative starting with a message before our arrival containing a detailed route in Google maps. She gave us a thorough explanation of the hotel and advised where to eat (the best, not the most expensive) and the best way to tour Split old town and promenade. The room was large, comfortable and spotlessly clean

This is an amazing place to stay. So clean and the best welcome ever!! Marija and her team really can't do enough for you. The breakfast was sensational. Hot choices, plus an afternoon tea tripple layered tray of goodies with fruit, breads cheese and cakes. Yogurts and cereals all served to you. The room we stayed in had a balcony and was spotless. The room has a mini fridge too. Close to shops and restaurants and the Diocletian palace. Thanks for a lovely 3 nights

Charming hotel, rooms are lovely, location is away from the tourist bustle of old town but just a short walk away. Maria the manager is priceless - friendly, attentive and always a big smile. Fabulous breakfast!

Amazing place. Owner was so solicitous. We were able to get into our room early. When we went to plunge pool she materialized with towels and refreshments and met us at 5;30 in the morning to catch our taxi. Breakfast was delicious. Room was super clean. Definitely would stay again.

The hotel has a lot of potential to become wonderful but needs to treat guests better and make the atmosphere more relaxed, after all we are on vacation and not in a boarding school for teenagers. The manager, wants to control everything, where to sit and what to eat for breakfast. Felt really uncomfortable. We checked out early because we had a boat trip and when we got back to pick up our bags I asked to use the shower by the pool and the receptionist said that we no longer had the right to use it because we had already checked out :(

This is amongst the nicest hotels, and certainly the best city hotel, we've ever stayed in. The staff were exceptional, so friendly and always one step ahead of our needs. The breakfast was just incredible - exactly what we needed. Next time we come to Split we won't even consider another hotel... in fact we will come to Split again just so that we can stay here.

This hotel was amazing! We travelled here in June with our 2 teenage boys (16 & 14) and organised 2 rooms. Marija was the BEST hostess you could ever ask for, so kind, thoughtful and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The hotel location was brilliant, the rooms amazing and the breakfast we still talk about!!! Don’t stay anywhere else in Split.

What a Five Star experience! The hotel has only 10 rooms so the guest experience was exceptional. The ladies, Marija and Mihaela, that run the hotel are the best I have ever seen. They will help with directions, food recommendations, reservations at restaurants, securing transportation, etc. Always smiling, you can not ask for anything better! The breakfast is complimentary and is sit down, with full service. The feel is like a “bed and breakfast” home. The hotel is a few hundred feet from historic old town and the rooms are very nicely decorated. I highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel is excellent. Free parking in the Old Town is a big plus. Staff was extremely helpful and polite. Rooms and all the facilities were spot clean. Breakfast was delicious

10/10 Gold Star ⭐️ experience. Staff Maria and Makayla were such professionals. Their recommendations of the local area were great. It made for an excellent stay, knowing we could eat at great locally recommended restaurants. The rooms were spotless and large and very well decorated. The breakfast was extensive and delicious. Would highly recommend staying at Splendida Palace in Split. Natalie & James Brooks

We have never had a better customer experience than at Splendida Palace. The hotel itself had nice, comfortable rooms and amazing breakfast selection. The location was also perfect - less than 5 minutes walking to Old Town but quiet enough it felt secluded.

The perfect place to stay in Split! Maria is the friendliest person we've met in Croatia! Location, room, parking, breakfast and the staff are just excellent! Thank you for a nice stay 🤗!

What a beautiful place to stay. Location is spot on, just out of the hustle and bustle of the city only 2 minutes walk away. Marija and her staff are so friendly and helpful to the guests, so thank you to them 🙏. We had the very top room and was amazed at the attention to detail there was. We loved it. We had 3 nights there. We loved to relax around the pool later in the day, very quiet and peaceful. The pool isn’t for swimming because of the size but great for cooling off. It’s a must if you are looking for some where to stay if you visit Split.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever been to. Marija and her team provide top notch service, the breakfast is amazing (great Müsli if you’re vegan), and the rooms are cozy and clean.

Great boutique hotel, great location, great staff: Marija and her wonderful staff were warm and very accommodating, including a welcome local drink and extensive explanation of Split. The small hotel (only 10 rooms) made a personal stay, location only a few minute walk to boardwalk and Medieval old town. It is a beautifully renovated residence, bedrooms and bathrooms spacious. Beds and bedding make for a great nights sleep, windows double-glazed and air conditioning for warm summer nights. Breakfast was included and amazing, ranging from coffee drinks made to order, European-style breads/croissants, meats and cheeses, to hand-cooked eggs and omelets. There is a small back patio with comfortable chairs for a nice afternoon break after a busy day. But what really made this a true 5 of 5-star was all the amazing staff and everything they did to pamper us. Marija even pre-arranged (at a reasonable charge) a private airport pick-up as the airport is located quite away from Old Town. Thank you, and we will definitely be back to stay at Splendita Palace on our next trip to Split, Croatia

I went to Croatia as a solo female traveler. This hotel is nice but right across the street is a boarded building it’s graffiti. The minute you walk out the door that is what you are facing. Then on both sides it’s a similar setting of boarded buildings and grafiti. On the corner of the hotel there was a line of dumpsters where men congregated at night. It was very scary to walk past at night when coming home from dinner. I told the woman at the front desk I did not feel comfortable staying there because of walking in and out. She told me it was no problem and they would be able to cancel my stay no problem. I told her I would stay that night in order to give them 24 hour notice, to be fair. The next morning when I went to check out the owner was at the front desk. She said because I was leaving I was going to be charged all the nights I was supposed to stay plus a cancellation fee. It was about $700.00. I told her I felt unsafe there. I told her especially since I am a traveler. I do not like having that feeling of nervousness every-time I come back or leave the hotel. I am here to relax. I am a foreigner and I am unfamiliar with the area not to mention I am a woman traveling on my own. I asked her how she would feel if she came to America and was staying with those things surrounding the hotel. She responded saying she would never come to America because it is too dangerous. Then I had my credit card company to dispute the charge and she would still not comply to what her front desk associate had told me. That I would not be charged because I booked on their site and I gave them 24hr notice by staying the night. Of course I paid for the night I stayed. That was not problem. Yet paying for everything and a fee is inconsiderate on their part and no communication between owner and employee. Do not stay here! Especially if with little kids or alone. I did not feel safe.

A great hotel with extremely accommodating staff. Marija in particular was always helpful and made our stay just that little bit more enjoyable! The included breakfast was diverse, including orderable freshly cooked eggs (which were delicious)! This hotel is the perfect place for people who are new to Split; it's situated in a great location, you'll get given a tour map with endless recommendations and the staff will accommodate your every need. My family and I will definitely be staying here again when we next get the chance.

This place was perfect for our stay in Split. It is very close walking distance to Old Town and all the sights! Maria (sp?) The hotel manager went above and beyond with her service being very attentive and helpful. She really made the stay pleasurable. We would highly recommend this boutique hotel to anyone traveling that way!

Amazing family-run b&b style boutique hotel. The staff are incredible and act as a concierge (dinner reservations, taxis, private tours, etc). I have never had a more hospitable hotel experience. The breakfast is excellent and they will make sure you are well-fed! Rooms are comfortable (good beds, showers, ac) and there’s a nice dip pool with a few chairs which is a great place to relax. It’s a 5 minute walk to the old town and 5 more minutes to the marina to pick up ferries to the various islands. But this place is all about service. This should be your first look in Split.

There aren’t enough words to describe how wonderful this hotel is. The rooms are clean, bright, comfortable with fabulous amenities as well as a terrific shower! The breakfast was five star, offering a selection to please any palate but the real star of this boutique hotel is the amazing staff. I have not encountered such amazing service in a long time and that alone made the stay feel luxurious and welcoming.

We knew were going to looked after simply because of the pre-vacation email communications with Marija. Every question we had was answered promptly and in detail. So it was lovely to meet her, eventually arriving after having to drive the wrong way down the one-way road outside the hotel (road works should be fixed by now). She has the energy of ten or maybe she has a twin sister! She was always on hand with a beaming smile and oodles of information to make our stay a wonderful one. The hotel has 6 parking spaces available. She settled us into our room, number 103, which was clean, compact and very fit for purpose. The only irritation of the stay was the technology in the room; the wi-fi was intermittent/not functioning and the tv channel choice/signal was poor. At times after a long day sightseeing we like to lie on the bed and watch a show or film (which was the case in our Dubrovnik Mlini hotel). The only English channel was CNN (enough said). As much as the staff tried to fix the problem they were not able to, however, this is an area we feel they need to improve. Onto the breakfast which was served entirely by the staff which was odd to start with but fine; we guess this was a carry over from Covid. The hotel prepare a food platter, aside from the egg options, which meant we left at least 50% on the first morning. For the following days of the stay we requested our selections. The hotel is located perfectly; 350 yards from the old town. There are a couple of small supermarkets nearby for provisions. I tried the plunge pool twice, boy it's refreshing even in the warm sun so a little heat would be good just to take the inital body shock away, although it's fine once you get in. In addition to the wonderful Marija we were looked after superbly by Mhkaela, Vlatka, Dominik and the kitchen staff. This is a very special boutique hotel so if ever in Split again we would definitely stay at the Splendida Palace, thanks again!!

We stayed at Splendida for one night in Split, we chose it simply for location as we wanted to be central due to our short stay. When we arrived the lady who runs the place greeted us (we were 3 hrs earlier than check in) took our bags and gave us a comprehensive guide of where to go. She also offered to book us a restaurant for dinner. When we came back later our bags were in our room, we had a complimentary bottle of wine as it was our honeymoon and the room was beautiful and so clean! We took our wine down to the little pool area and chatted to some fellow travellers. Our amazing host then brought us a Croatian apperatif 🥰 She had booked us Portofina for dinner… it was exceptional. For breakfast she had a lovely buffet where she serves you, I assume for hygiene reasons, but the service was amazing. The food was beautiful too. I can’t recommend this hotel enough, the service, the lovely team, the cleanliness and the location. If you get the opportunity to stay here, take it. It’s worth every penny 🤩

We had a wonderful holiday in Croatia. Hotel Splendida was our first stop and our favourite. The hotel exudes quality, our room was luxurious and Maria & Dominic were wonderful welcoming hosts with all our needs taken care of. Truly exceptional.

This was the third stop on a ten day tour of Croatia. Hotel Splendida is a true gem. Brother and sister, Dominic and Maria pull you into their family. Maria’s service never stops as she takes care of your every need to ensure a memorable experience. I loved every minute of this hotel.

The most amazing boutique hotel there is! The rooms are clean, the breakfast is amazing and the service is absolutely top notch. Best place to stay in Split, location wise and service wise. The only place that allows for parking too (that area is hard to find parking). Marija and her brother are legit the best. Marija gave us recommendations as well per our preferences. She’s so friendly and was available to help us at all times. This is the place to stay in your Split trip, hands down. Will definitely return there!

The most beautiful hotel In split. Everything was perfect - the room was clean big and lux. The breakfast was beyond expectations and delicious and honestly I’d want to eat here every morning. Everything was amazing but the best part of this hotel was Marija and the staff - she made us so comfortable and her warm friendly personality just made this experience that much better. I’ll be booking for next year definitely

Splendida palace is a perfect location to visit Split, very closed to the old town. But even much more excellent is the care of all the team ! Starting from Michaela that welcome us as familiar people and nice tips to live our holidays at the best ! Going further with the breakfast service so lovely everyday! Rooms very nice mix between modern and classic style, clean. We reccomend it definitively!

  • 5/5 Lukas B. 1 year ago on Google
Very friendly and helpful staff, they help you with restaurant reservations and make sure you have a great stay. The breakfast is very delicious (especially the pancakes with honey) and it is brought to your table so you never have to actually stand up. The owner Marija and the other ladies are really doing a great job here and I can recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice hotel in Split.
