Short and to the point: coffee expensive, but tasty. Place nice and interestingly decorated. Service: horrible, spoiling the whole atmosphere. Discouraged us from drinking coffee. Long and detailed: after a successful visit to the beach, we went to this cafe to drink good, cold coffee. We were delighted that we got the opportunity to drink specialty coffee. We were happy that we would be able to drink really good coffee. Unfortunately, all the pleasure was taken away from us by the barista, who behaved very pretentiously and rudely. Let's start with the fact that he didn't even greet us, just froze us with his eyes. Then he looked at us expectantly, without even asking us about our order. We had to start ordering ourselves. Then he asked if we want it "in or to go." We wanted to stay in the pleasantly cool cafe, and found a seat under the window. The barista reproachfully asked where we would sit, after all there were no tables. He continued to be very rude to us. He rudely stated that we should order all together, because he would not do everything one at a time. I couldn't stand the rudeness anymore. The gentleman even corrected me as to the name of the coffee I was ordering. And I think what he could do, was just saying at the beginning in a polite way that he would prefer that we all order together, after all, he saw that we were coming in as a group. The customer doesn't have to guess. Mr. Barista should not work there, he should find an occupation where he does not have to work with people. Unfortunately, your cafe loses a lot on this. Just because we are tourists, doesn't mean that you can treat us this way. After this visit we were left with a bad taste and it made us really sad.

The coffee was alright. However——— I've never felt this unwelcome in a place. The baristas were unfriendly and dismissive, and I expressed it in a polite manner. I have visited 8 cities in Croatia and 20 different coffee shops; this level of unwelcoming is different. I took the time to leave a review on Google because I genuinely want to help the store improve. Instead of immediately assuming my review is fake and coming from a competitor and had it took down, would you mind investigating with your staff before reaching any conclusions? Thank you for considering my feedback. If all negative reviews can be fake reviews paid by competitors, what about the positive ones? I hope for a genuine reply rather than having my review dismissed. I appreciate your time.

So. The oddest thing happened here. I’ve been a customer for over a year, I’m an expat from the US. The staff is tremendous. They deal with cranky travelers all summer and do it with Grace. The other day, there was another American here. He was cussing at the baristas and being seriously unhinged. When asked to leave he refused and I approached to try to defuse the situation (hoping that he would respond well to another American). Since then he has been leaving reviews on multiple google accounts to try to harm this great establishment. Stop by for great company, great coffee, just know that at times it gets extremely busy and the professionals may be busy making coffee. Baristas remain my favorite brand of people. The guy who threatened them and myself, I hope he keeps traveling and doesn’t return to Croatia or my country.

What a find! Highly recommend! Excellent service, coffee and space/decor! This space is so charming, great location and design. Excellent service, people working are very nice and friendly. Coffee is excellent!! We had it a few times and every time it was great. They also have great lemonade for non-coffee drinkers. Try it out, you won’t regret.

Perfect! The best coffee I have had in Split & Croatia so far. Amazing prices & throw in their almond croissants & you’ve got yourself a great little breakfast or small lunch. Highly recommend! Oat milk cappuccino pictured.

The coffee shop is a good space with Aircon, which is nice to relax in out of the warmth outside. The coffee was fine, but nothing special. My partner had a cortado and described it as bitter, but alright. My americano with milk was average. We have had much tastier and better prices coffees during our stay in Split.

Best latte I ever had in life. Don't know how they make it but the milk design stayed perfect until the last sip. It tasted like good premium coffee

I don't understand where the 5 stars come from. Maybe for the €5.50 for coffee + croissant? Or maybe for the girl in the bar, who is more interested in her talk with colleagues while you are waiting to pay, just to hear "you need to wait few minutes" in an acid tone. Coffee could be also better, and even more for the fancy price.

Great for working. Very cozy. Would also be comfortable for a chat. The lights in the room I have photographed are dimmed in the later evening, Ohhhhh, so could also be a place for a chat with a romantic interest ; )

They are understaffed which affects the quality of service and the coffee shop as a whole. I don't blame the workers as they were doing their best with so many people in such a small space. The coffee however was really good and creamy, I had a cappuccino for 16 KN, about 2 euro.

D16 has some of the best coffee in Croatia and all of their branches are really good but this one is probably my favourite. The barista who served me was easily the best in Croatia. He had a passion for coffee and he really did know his stuff. His milk work was magical and his attention to detail was exceptional. An unexpected gem!

Cute little coffee shop with decent coffee. The menu laid out dairy alternatives and pricing which was helpful. Ice coffees were a little bit milky but still refreshing on a hot day.

Great Coffees, good service, chill ambiance on the other side of where the coffee is served. I've had a double shot of espresso, a V60, an orange juice, almond croissant 🥐 and a cold Brew. Espresso & V60 were well extracted and chocolaty (it doesn't talk for what coffee and then flavors/aromas you'll have then as they are Specialty Coffee, which infers origins are susceptible to change). I've had their premium of the moment (a bargain for the supplement), a Salvador around 86 or 87 scoring, and a natural Ethiopian for the V60. Orange juice was freshly pressed but not cold enough (I think it's still possible to ask for ice though). The oranges were not exceptional but did the job. The almond croissant was very good and fresh, so go for it if you want so. Service was good, I'd say neutral, nothing to declare. I appreciated they asked me how was the coffee when I placed my 2nd order. 5 star 🌟 😉

Stylish, great atmosphere, and a lot of space, but FW for €5 is too much!!! Even more expensive that in the heart of London! Taste okay, but nothing special

Fantastic coffee. The flat white was worth going back to a second day. The cafe was clean and had good atmosphere. The staff were very helpful. They spoke English (if you need it).

  • 5/5 Jeremy T. 10 months ago on Google
Awesome place for coffee lovers, the flat white is a real punchy one with good chocolaty notes and smooth and evenly extracted. Quite on par with Kava2 in Split, we did not try any food here in d16 though. The atmosphere probably is better in Kava2. But is not bad here too. One of the best flat whites I had I'M Croatia.

On a hot day in Split, the indoor Aircon cafe was a treat. Coffee was good too! Service was the weak point. One of the baristas was quite rude. Requested orange juice and pastries but everything was out of stock. When I settled with a coffee, he asked was that all and sighed when I asked to have it indoors. Didn't feel welcoming at all. For that reason, I would put Kava2 above in rating.

Whenever I'm in Split during the summer, this place remains one of my absolute favorites. I can't help but adore it. This coffee shop offers the perfect setting to relax and savor your time in Split. The ambiance is wonderful, and the local staff adds to the experience with their incredible friendliness.

Nice coffee spot in the middle of old town. A little bit pricy, but again on the street crowded with tourists. Was in mood for ice coffee, and it was quite good. And I was 5 minutes before closings time - they were still friendly and did not refuse me a coffee, as some their competitors do)

  • 5/5 Camilla Toustrup J. 1 year ago on Google
Perfect coffee and absolutely top service, even though it was very crowded. Cosy place to hang out in the heat. A very helpful team behind the desk - one of the baristas let us put our big backpacks in their office room, so that we could explore the old city for a while. Such a nice place and staff

  • 4/5 Daniel C. 6 months ago on Google
This place is vibing for sure. Unfortunately, the barista made my iced latte with strong, pre-brewed coffee just sitting on the counter. Path of least resistance isn’t worth a 4€ coffee.

I have been trying coffe in many places around Split , but the quality of coffe they have in D16 is really unique !! First of all if you are vegan , they make a very delicious cappuccino with oat milk. Price could be a bit high , according to some people , but in my opinion is DEFINITELY Worth it!!! In addition , if you need to find a place for study and for being concentrated, they have a very cozy room where you can find a lot of peace to work . The best place in Split EVER !!

first I ordered an Iced coffe (21kn) with Double shot, and got an iced latte with double shot (30kn), then I ordered an americano but with ice cubes, instead of 14kn for an americano I paid 21kn, when I asked why the answer was: now it's an iced coffee... 7kn just for ice cubes?? the americano was also very watery... an the positive side: very nice seating area on the opposite side of the street.

Probably the best place in town to bring a laptop and work for a couple hours. Popular with expats and locals alike--the languages around you will shift by the hour. Excellent coffee and options. Definitely one of our favorite hangouts in Split.

Great coffee shop to take a break from old town stroll.. Another seating area cross the coffee bar. Friendly servers and great coffee💫

Great tasting coffee, English speaking staff, clear vegan/‘plant based milk’ on menu with oat and almond to choose from. A little more pricey than other coffee places in split at around €4 but definitely not overpriced. Especially compared to other coffee shops in the city. Would definitely recommend for a morning coffee or afternoon pick-me-up

Nestled in Diocletian's Palace, D16 Coffee serves exquisite flat whites, making it a must-visit spot in Split. Despite being busy, the atmosphere remains welcoming, and the thoughtful service extends to providing complimentary water for both guests and their pets. With cozy seating in the main area and a charming space across the building, D16 Coffee promises an outstanding coffee experience you'll want to relive whenever you're in town.

Fantastic place with very good coffee. They really know what they do so you can choose any coffee and it would be great. They also have splendid nutella cakes and cocktails based on cold brew. Very good atmosphere and raw design in super historic area. Nice place to chill out.

One of the coffee shops in Split. It is a small place in the old part of Split. There are a lot of people who use the coffee shop as a flex work place. It is a small joint with seating inside on two sides. It is a specialty coffee shop with a good coffee machine (la marzocco). Unfortunately, there is no outside area where you could sit. They do do take away though. We had a flat white and cappuccino here. For the rest you can get all kinds of coffee here and it is possible to get something from a croissant as well. The staff was okay. We were helped quickly but they were not extremely friendly or interested when we were ordering. Knowledge does exist in the place. They do know a lot ben coffee making. The case itself was decorated funny though. The part where you order had nice artwork on the wall and the cups were also in that style. The second room was a little different style but like or good. The back of my bar stool was just broken. Other than that, when we were in the first section there was some heavier music being played. The second section (across the way) had no music, which I always find to be a miss. All in all definitely go there for the coffee. Otherwise not super special place.

Great coffee; coffee aroma is surprisingly strong, I found my way to this barista with the aroma! (They also have additional seating across the laneway with complimentary internet & touch of rooster arts!

A very nice cafe located in the narrow streets of Split, a nice place to relax with a good coffee. Wide offer of coffees, very nice decor. Possible payment by card. A place worth recommending!

We tried pour over, several milk coffee and cold brew, all perfect. The owner recommend us a good restaurant nearby. Unfortunately, we had to leave the next day and didn't see him when we went in the morning. Really unforgettable memory. MUST GO place in split.

A fantastic little spot with tonnes of character and a cool set of owners/managers. If you need a spot to work with great free wifi and no pressure to leave, D16 is for you. Great coffee and croissants (plain and almond only) for pretty cheap. Highly recommend!
