Just returned from this hotel and was pleased to leave! First, the positives- the views are lovely and Croatia is a very pretty country. The beds are comfortable and the staff in the restaurant were very kind and helpful. The negatives - the prices for food are eye wateringly expensive. On the room service menu the hotel charges €3 for a slice of lemon and the same for ice in drinks. The quality of the food was poor and incredibly salty. The pool area is very tired with many tiles broken, excruciatingly uncomfortable sun beds, sparse staffing to help with umbrellas etc. , the pool is too small for the number of guests being impossible to swim due to dive bombing children and ‘lads’ messing around and play fighting in the water. Many of the umbrellas were broken affording no shade. Do not book boat trips from the hotel as they are very uncomfortable and make for a very nasty experience. Only 2 small bottles of water are left in the room each day which given the heat and salt in the food it would have been better to leave 6-8 each day as I have experienced in other 5 star hotels. You can get more if you ask at reception but they are handed out 2 at a time. The cleaning of the rooms was very hit and miss depending on the person carrying out the clean, but all in All below par. When my daughter and I arrived at the hotel we were allocated a room that we did not pay for or book. When we complained to the night manager who was very rude and while my daughter phoned the travel agent he stood over me glowering at me making me feel very uncomfortable. The room was changed the next day but was not a good start I would not recommend this hotel. There is no customer service and the hotel is more like a poor 3 star hotel, definitely falls short of 5 star.

You have to consider that I am reviewing a 5-star hotel, with expensive pricing. The rooms are nice, the pool area is great. If you pay 200 €/night this is something you would expect. The reason for my bad rating is the bad staff. The staff seemed to be poorly trained. We have organized an event and everything was absolut chaos from the beginning. The staff was rude and not supporting at all. The management didn't take our complaints seriously at all. It appeared to us that the main goal is only to milk the customers in the best possible way for the hotel. We never have felt welcomed or appreciated us paying guest, who left a 5 diggit revenue at the place.

Good morning. I don't usually give bad ratings. For this to happen is because there is something very wrong and it is true that the hotel has an impressive infrastructure. But frankly the first thing is the service and customer care. We have organized a business event where we have spent a lot of money on rooms and other services. Frankly, the lack of flexibility, insolence and impudence of the staff knows no bounds. For several months prior to our event it was clear that the hotel had no interest in attending to our needs, and tried to negotiate our requests in exchange for additional amounts and conditions. This would not end here, as several weeks after the event was over, we started to receive strange bills for services that were not used (bottles of water, cabs to the airport), which of course was brought to the hotel's attention. When there is a permanent distrust of an organization, I can say without any shame that I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Not even for private vacations. For this reason, 1 star. A pity, as we had a very good impression of Split, with the exception of this hotel and its representatives.

Amazing hotel: fantastic spa (you can do almost everything here- laser hair removal, HydraFacial- this procedure was done poorly, massage was super cool! One of the best) and great saunas for free. Super stylish and breakfast was great. Rooms are tiny and not spacious, we had not the cheapest room with a sea view but anyway it felt tiny. Service is also great.

After spending around a week in Split, Croatia I am pretty sure this is the nicest place that you can stay. Five-star quality in every way. Marble bathrooms, beachfront rooms, tons of places to eat and bars to drink, and A+ service by the staff everywhere we visited on the property. Make time to hit the sauna and the massage. Incredible experience at this resort.

WORST & MOST OVER PRICED HOTEL EVER. Do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere. Where to begin.... Firstly, the on-site restaurants are so ridiculously over priced that it's actually laughable. The resort is way out of the city centre and the restaurants aren't even nice...so why are they charging 10 euro for a tiny dessert or 25 euro for a basic burger? We ate outside of the resort. Secondly, their on-site team for booking tours/attractions is also ridiculously expensive. 400 euro for a tour to Krka National Park - you're kidding right? I could do that same tour four times over through Expedia/Booking.com/Viator etc for that price....which is exactly what we did. Don't waste your time. Thirdly, their staff are completely clueless. On numerous occasions we would ask concierge staff basic questions about the hotel/amenities (you know, the place they are employed to work at and have basic knowledge of) and they were wrong EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. What time does restaurant x open?: Wrong time given. What bus route can I catch to go to this local place?: "I don't know". Where is the buffet dinner?: we got given a location and guess what, turns out not only was the location wrong but it wasn't even available that night...annnnd turns out we weren't even eligible to have the buffet dinner (you need to pay before you arrive....staff forgot to mention that). Honestly and sincerely, don't go to this place. Save your money, it's not worth it. For the price they charge, it's horrendous - the worst five star hotel I've ever stayed in.

Big hotel with different type of things to do also on a rainy day. Nice rooms and really cozy and clean everywhere. Mostly just good things to say about the place but the breakfast was dissapointment. You can get better bread and pastry from a normal supermarket which is quite surprising as we’re talking about a five star hotel.

Le Méridien Lav is a fantastic place to stay, with great views, facilities, and food. In the off-season when it's too cold to swim in the outdoor pools, the indoor pool can get quite busy, as it is on the smaller side. The staff are friendly and helpful, assisting us with booking short notice taxis, providing spa assistance, and serving food and drinks. The only minor problem with the location was due to the constant traffic on the road to Split making what seems like a short journey much longer in practice, so always aim to leave early if venturing out.

Wonderful hotel. It was super nice with an in-door pool as well as an infinity pool. The beach access can't be beat. They had a delicious buffet for breakfast which is included in the cost of the room. The rooms are also very nice and roomy. If you stay here, you must get a massage and use the facilities. They have a variety of steam and sauna rooms that you can use during your stay at the hotel. Gorgeous view to watch the sunsets. The only downside is that it is about 25 minutes to the downtown area via Uber.

5 star location and hotel premises. 3 star food and service. After my previous experience working in 5 star hotels, I was surprised at how average the food was and they put ice in the drinks with their fingers. I would say food was work canteen level and stale some days. Lovely pool & decent rooms.

Overall we had a wonderful 2 night stay at Le Méridien Lav. With 380 rooms this is a huge resort. Extra points go for having three Tesla destination chargers that work great! Check in and the front desk staff are slick and professional and everything carried out in a efficient manor. Current exchange carried out here effectively. The sea view suite was well appointed with a great desk for working in, sufficient storage space and great toiletries. The house keeping requests made through bonvoy were carried out very efficiently. Our first night dining at the Italian/Mediterranean restaurant the food was very average however the waitress Sara was outstanding! Our second night at 7palms the food and service were both exceptional. Our time spent lounging around the pool and ordering delicious food from the pool bar was a great asset to the resort. The ladies working at the pool bar were extremely friendly and perform a wonderful service. In general the staff went above and beyond which makes a huge difference in such a gigantic room resort. The only thing that let the hotel down was the cleaning around the indoor pool. The sauna was unacceptable in terms of cleanliness as was the pool floor. Sad. Breakfast was a standard, international affair with something there for everyone. I thoroughly enjoyed the infused water. The location is just a short 15 minute (without traffic) to the city Centre of Split and taxis are surrounding the hotel. There is something here for everyone. A wonderful few days, highly recommended and would return.

Nicely located close to Split. You can access the hotel easily from the freeway. The view is amazing. All restaurants are very nice and the menus are very well designed. Also all restaurants have amazing sea views as well. There is a small yacht port attached to the hotel. That sometimes causes little pollution in the sea but it is negligible. The staff is very helpful and polite. I definitely recommend having delicious ice cream in leScoop with the port view.

With better customer service/workers attitude this a 5 star hotel. Edit.there were few super nice and good quality workers too but the over all attitude and the level of service wasent nearly the 5star level,I get some level service 2-3 star hotels here on Finland. I have many examples to give but giving one...my daughter dived at least 15pieces (in two occasition) of glass from the bottom of the indoor(spa)pool and second time I give the pieces to bartender and said where theyre from(pool area aint glass aloud) he said nothing...not even flinched...I think its super arrogent and mindful...and this kinda service we got few other times too.Just lacking respect and the good service u just think to have in this quality/price hotel.

Had a lovely relaxing holiday at this wonderful hotel. The highlights are the pool both indoor and outdoor infinity pool. The Sea is amazing, warm clear not too deep. Plenty of sun beds and staff are lovely and very helpful. Gym and pool are open early for morning exercise or swim, although the morning swim in the sea was best. They have table tennis, table football and gaming console area. If you like sport the underside pub is perfect. Plenty of tv's, pool, two dart boards and bocce (look the rules up its fun). Special mention for the barman he was brilliant very friendly and helpful. Plenty of restaurants on site although not cheap but then it is a 5 star hotel. Almost forgot the amazing ice-cream shop on the marina you will need it as the weather is warm and sunny. :-)

Spent 3 nights at this hotel. Everything was excellent. Delicious breakfast and lunch, clean large room, nice SPA zone. Small negatives: 1. hotel not for coffee lovers (only instant coffee at the room) 2. no work table in the room

  • 1/5 Alexandra K. 7 months ago on Google
Rather awful do not come here… 490€ per night and nothing of a 5 star hotel, absolutely awful service and staff (apart from MIA in hotel bar next to reception) Horrible breakfast, terribly small and dirty pool, pool surroundings absolutely not cared for. Breakfast was simply gross and disgusting. Rush you out, clean nExt to you when finishing your meals, no staff around pool or beach. Their « beach club » is a tragedy… the kids screaming in the pool, no adult spots, the spa is nothing of a spa but dirty saunas and kids screaming in and around the spa… outrageous prices for treatments … no water in room, terrible coffee and dirty boiler… the rooms and old and outdated, nasty carpets and dirty terrace… DO NOT COME HERE.

Amazing place to stay and relaxing holidays. During the night they sometimes do Latin dance party, which is amazing to watch and just have a beer. The harbour Itself is really beautiful and walking in the night is super beautiful and romantic. Highly recommended to visit this place. Its 45 min from split via public transport. Take bus no 60 which will drop you close to this place.

Stunning hotel! Beautiful rooms, amazing views paid a little extra to have a marina view which was incredible! Decent size fridge no freezer, kettle, the BIGGEST hotel tv I have ever seen! Which can link to your phone and has YouTube built in… we travelled with a 10 year old and two year old and them being able to watch some familiar things while we got ready really helped. Big balcony very basic small table and 2 chairs. The service from the staff was great! Professional, friendly and approachable! Cleaners were not so good, the whole time we were there the floors were never hoovered the surfaces weren’t wiped didn’t really tidy literally swapped towels and made beds, although on a couple of occasions we asked them to come back due to our toddler napping. There’s not much in walking distance, 5 min walk to a small basics supermarket. And a Fabio pizza which was really tasty and a cheaper meal option! To venture further a field I.e split I’d recommend downloading the Bolt/ Uber app as there prices are are around 10/15euros one night we struggled for Wi-Fi and a taxi from split to le Meriden wanted to charge us 45euro… no Thankyou!😂 Breakfast was brilliant! Huge in fact! Lots seating indoor and out. The egg man! Amazing! Literally banging out omelettes left right a center! Depending on what time you got to breakfast we experienced earlier and later 7:30 the early and around 9:30 later the later you go we think it became feeding time at the zoo, at one point I was cramped up by the toaster with a woman leaning over with her armpit in my face being impatient which was defiantly not what I’d like for breakfast😂 The pool and beach were beautiful! A touch of maintenance needed to class it as a 5 star! Bring sea shoes for the beach it actually hurt trying to get in and out of the sea. Also quiet crowded. Ohhhhh I almost forgot! If you want to go to the beach they advertise in the photos you need to be there very early for a sun lounger because they are more than likely all reserved or have a towel on to reserve them, even though it states they only hold them for 30 mins the towel boy didn’t give a shiny and looked like he couldn’t careless. Lovely place nevertheless! Drinks are a pricey do! 7/8€ for a beer and 25/30€ for a meal. But the food was delicious! Conlemani we went to 2 times they made us feel so welcome! Honestly the way a couple of the staff were with my toddler made the world of difference they were just so lovely! All in all We had the best time! Abit expensive but it’s a holiday! So… Thankyou for having us!

A beautiful hotel with a great position on the coast and most of the amenities you would need. A great experience for us the upside. In life nothing is perfect but what makes the experience is how a team put it right. A big mention to Evana on reception and Richard the manager of the two main restaurants on the Marina. Just great people who just want to make your experience great and with a smile. Down side do not book the an Elegant room they are so small okay for a couple of days or if you are on your own. We paid to up grade to premium and it made such a difference. The restaurants are high priced but the service and quality do match. The Goshter (Asian) restaurant not so good and that showed by how quiet it was. The only other down side is you need to use a taxi to get to other restaurants and bars in the area. Though it must be said the couple of bars past the Asian restaurant along the beach are well worth a visit. Overall would highly recommend staff are pleasant and there are a couple of outstanding people already mentioned. Thanks for a great holiday.

The location is stunning with great amplitude. Several dining options in place to make sure you can enjoy this Marriott property. Service is attentive and property is well taken care of. Breakfast has a lot of room to improve and can be missed.

Excellent hotel. Our suite had an ocean view. Room was setup perfectly. Spent the morning on the beach. It was quite and relaxing. Valet service was efficient. Bar staff was very good. Breakfast buffet was a good setup. The food was excellent.

The rooms were very clean and breakfast was great (free with Marriott status). The location was outside of downtown with some restaurants walkable, but minimal selection. Beach is lovely right outside hotel. The spa/pool seemed unclean and had an odor. Came from the Sheraton in Dubrovnik where the spa is better.

Stunning hotel about 20 minutes from the harbour/city centre. 25 minutes from the airport. Fantastic setting with private beach and cabanas. Small marina housing some amazing yachts directly outside the hotel. Food was very good.

  • 5/5 Krzysztof G. 5 months ago on Google
Modern, good-looking and elegant hotel. Restaurants at the hotel are above average, but the drinks at hotel bars might have been better. Rooms leave nothing to ask for and the view is very nice if you do not mind the boats right outside the window. Staff was very helpful and spoke perfect English, with almost no exceptions.

Beautiful hotel and an amazing staff. Made our stay feel special. The food was amazing and the Italian restaurant is out of this world. I highly recommend this place! We definitely will stay again.

  • 4/5 Hanna J. 4 months ago on Google
Honestly, the Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera Hotel felt more like a 5-star hotel. I know this isn't a fair comparison because Sheraton opened in 2015, and this hotel opened in the early 1970s, so the outdated room layout is somewhat understandable. The marina view from our balcony was pretty though. That being said, the common areas (lounge, dining, bar, and other areas) of this hotel are very elegant with panoramic sea views. The staff is kind and helpful, and the Italian restaurant has good food as well.

  • 2/5 Saif H. 2 years ago on Google
My stay was not great at this hotel. We were given the wrong room when we first checked in (we had booked one of the largest rooms with a nice sea view and we ended up getting one of the smallest rooms they have). Breakfast was not included in the stay and they charge more than double the breakfast charge if you don't stop at the reception first and tell them you're having breakfast. This can be done 30 seconds before going to breakfast at the reception desk (which is less than a minute walk from the breakfast hall). it's a maze to get to the spa to be able to get your towels before heading to the pool which is on completely different levels and have to take multiple stairs and hallways to get to. One of the only good things at the hotel were staff at the bar who were very friendly.

  • 5/5 Maglica P. 2 years ago on Google
I only visited the coffee bar and it may not be to my taste but it is nicely decorated. The efforts of the designers are visible, and especially the drinks (of which there is a really large selection) are beautifully arranged. It’s not an original idea but it’s well executed so it’s a pleasure to sit and sip. The bartender is very educated and gives great suggestions. The music is not too loud. It lacks liveliness but that is already hotel policy.

Memorable stay with a lovely service and great food options. Breakfast was the highlight with an endless choice of high quality ingredients. Our room had a stunning ocean views and although the beach had pebbles, it was well maintained and the water was dreamy 🙌🏻

Great place to stay. The staff is always available, helpful and kind. They also accepted us last minute with a German Shepherd & a rabbit (only a +30€ fee for them). Amazing view on the Marina, we went in October and it was so quiet and calm which we love as I can't stand the chaos of the summer months. The place is like a small resort with private parking, private beach, tennis courts, gym, spas etc so you don't even need to go anywhere if you don't fancy it. Overall a great experience, will be back in December.

Fantastic staff!! Whomever we Spoke to during our stay, be it the waiters at breakfast, the pool staff, the concierge or the chamber maids, they were all exceedingly friendly, helpful and couldn’t do enough for us during our stay. Great sized bedrooms with plenty of storage, can sit on the beach without being charged for beds, fabulous breakfasts.

  • 3/5 Debbie W. 1 year ago on Google
Unfortunately not what I would class as 5 star, more a conference centre than a hotel, every day we were here large groups of noisy people attending conferences which overtook the hotel, especially at breakfast time. Lovely rooms but bath towels not the best of quality , small and well used. Breakfast choice not the best, only 1 person on the egg station for the size of the hotel, regular queue throughout the morning. Sunbeds on the beach by the pool need replacing, the ones round the other side of the hotel are superb. Bar service poor, regularly saw staff eating and drinking behind the bar when on duty. Would I return, probably not, better hotels that are true star ratings

What a beautiful hotel with the service from the associates on reception absolutely first class. After a long day of delays and hassle they were friendly, helpful and professional and make me proud to be associated with Marriott Bonvoy. Also housekeeping were superb sorting out a couple of niggles. If this continues we are going to have a great vacation.

An amazing hotel / resort. Everything here is wonderful. The staff - simply amazing. From arrival to departure, I was greeted with a smile and made to feel at home. I was upgraded to a marina view suite and it was simply amazing. The views were stunning and room all that I could hope for. I decided to try the Italian restaurant. The flat bread was fantastic, as was the great service from Doris (server). The hotel bar was also fabulous as was both the pools and saunas. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Overall, I hope my travels bring me back here. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.!!

The accommodations were absolutely stunning, but what made the trip so good were the reception staff, who were efficient and polite, and especially the restaurants. We had a birthday for two of our eight members of our family who came along, and not only did they take the time to sing "happy birthday," but they gave the birthday-boy and girl a lovely piece of cake. We with to thank Mario, Marina, and the whole staff there who took such great care of us, and without a doubt, the next time we return to Split, Le Meridien Lav is where we'll stay.

Wonderful rooms. View of the marina sunset was beautiful. Great drinks at the indoor bar. Staff managing the beach near the pool were very nice and accommodating, frequently checking in on all the guests. Much larger complex than we anticipated. Would love to return!

A perfect hotel for us traveling with kids, facilities are perhaps not a 5-star hotel but the service was amazing! We will miss our helpful Tino in the refresh bar, he definitely knows how to make the guests feel extra welcome.

Pros: Amazing kids club that the 4 year old loved. Attentive and friendly staff. Great swimming facilities. Lots of food options on the resort. Cons: Booked a sea view that was mostly a tree view. Should not be advertised as a sea view. Nobody to greet us when we drove in, which I didn’t expect from a 5 star. Very difficult to reach room service.

Good rooms, great location. The hotel is a bit labyrinthine, but has a lovely airy feel to it. Food leaves a bit to be desired, however the desserts more than make up for it.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Everything was great! The rooms were lovely, we had a great view over the sunset. The staff was also great. The bar area and lobby is stunning with great views over the ocean. Breakfast was nice! Although maybe they could add a little more variety, however we still enjoyed it. We would stay here again.

We had the most amazing experience at this hotel. We have stayed at hotels around the world, and the level of service here was truly head and shoulders above. The front desk staff was extremely customer service oriented, incredibly helpful and friendly, and went to extraordinary lengths to make our stay truly memorable. A special thank you to Josiba and Ivanna for their impeccable service. The rooms were newly renovated and spotless, the spa and pool area were very relaxing, and the location (right on the beach) was beautiful. It is a little outside of town but Ubers were fast, plentiful, and very affordable (10 Euros to Split old town in March). It's also an easy walk to great restaurants nearby. Fabulous stay! We look forward to a return visit.

What a great place for holiday and work conferences. All the staff are super helpful and the food amazing. Facilities brilliant. Could easily stay here and not leave the location. However Split town is only a taxi ride away and has stunning restaurants and shops plus history too. Highly recommend

Five star is not enough. What a fab resort. From the exceptional service with valet, reception and concierge we were constantly impressed with the staff. Vowa helped us book an excursion and was very helpful booking our next part of our travel ferry arrangements and translating for another issue we had with our next accommodation. So patient and helpful. The breakfast buffet was the best we’ve ever seen! The towel service at the spa/pool was a little weird but that was just us being lazy and preferring to just leave it in a bin poolside. Our room was gorgeous overlooking the beautiful yachts, the patio peaceful to relax at night, the sunsets gorgeous, the pool cool but refreshing and the restaurants attached thereto were exceptional! Well done!!

Honeymooned here and it’s definitely a 5-star experience. The breakfast buffet is incredible, restaurants are great, staff goes above and beyond, everything is clean. The gym also was amazing. Gorgeous views and so nice to be a quick drive from the main area of Split! The “adult” beach area is stunning with a great restaurant right on the beach. Came in September after peak season and loved having a less crowded experience. Would love to come back.

We are quite a lot in Marriott Bonvoy hotels as Titanium and Platinum member and have to summarize: if you want to stay here for wellness, we can totally recommend. If you want to eat here all the time, it will be disappointing. This is why we decided not to extend our stay here. However, still 3* for the beautiful facility. The arrival: We had an early checkin as Platinum members and the parking ticket was changed to a permanent one so that we can drive out multiple times. We were greeted by a man at the reception very nicely, super helpful and friendly. The room: Our room was on the first floor with a balcony and directed to the Marina. We were quite happy about the room, as it was clean, modern, large and had everything we needed. The bed and the pillows were very comfortable. The beach: Directly at the beach, there are beach chairs, a cocktail bar and a heated outdoor pool. As we were here in September, it was very empty. Super beautiful and the chairs are free of charge. You can get beach towels at each side of the beach for free. The staff at the beach bar was super friendly. The spa: Beautiful spa area with indoor pool and sauna. There are showers and a changing room inside. The restaurants: That’s unfortunately the only thing we need to criticize. The beach restaurant with Asian cuisine was catastrophic in terms of service and food. The Italian restaurant was not good either. The pub had nice service personnel, but they were understaffed and did not even have ketchup or mayo (we got the last ketchup packages). However, breakfast was very good and the selection/service great. Also, we were quite shocked that the same staff that served us late in the evening was serving us at breakfast at 7/8 am in the morning again.

Extremely noisy room on floor 11, on a very busy street with lorries, cars and motorbikes passing through all day and night long, non stop. It feels like we are inside the motorway and our windows are closed! This is very deceptive in a 5 star hotel, as the least one would expect would be to have to hear to constant traffic instead of relaxing. Room noise insulation is poor too, as we are waken up at night from people talking and laughing through the corridor. The room had a flashing light from a grid on the ceiling that flashed every 3 seconds all night, lighting up the room. This was fixed upon our request but reception was aware this is an issue across the hotel. So why wait for guests to complain? You would provide a better experience if you fixed the issue before guests had to cope with it. The air con control box is also flashing with a bright light all night - we had to cover it up with a t-shirt. No vegan options (like vegan croissants, vegan pancakes, porridge or even a simple soy yoghurt) for breakfast. At least bread and jam was available, and a vast assortment of fruit. Coffee is made with an automatic machine. Hair found in different spots in the bathroom upon arrival. Staff at reception is kind and helpful but this cannot make up for the rest, unfortunately. What a deception, really!

😐 The dishes presentation is great. Sadly, the taste wasn't anything more than forgettable. The mixed drinks look great, but are watered down. Atmosphere is an awkard attempt at a rave club with a piano bar clientele. The save, is the location. But aside from that, look elsewhere for good grub
