So much more than we could ever have expected. From the small things like a bottle of water for each of us in the minibus when we got collected from the airport to the fully organised private trips and meals out. Our hosts Grgo and Ivo made sure that everything was perfect, yes perfect...... We wanted for nothing and the villa was absolutely amazing as were the staff who worked there. We went all out on this holiday and took out one of the packages offered by Villa GG, which I would highly recommend. It was so worth it, airport transfers, breakfast made each day, cleaning and laundry service, concierge, private tours and massages too. This holiday was a once in a lifetime and one to never forget. Can't thank Grgo and his team enough for giving us 2 weeks of wonderful family memories. 💛

Villa GG is by far the most beautiful villa in Croatia. Everything is better than the pictures, and Grgo is the best host you could ever wish for. He helped with restaurant bookings, boat rental and more. He has vast knowledge about Split and the surrounding areas. Remember to book breakfast, as it is impossible to recreate all the dishes the serve you 😊😊😊

5 Stars ***** In short do not think twice about staying here at some point in your travels. If you choose to read all the way through my review you will find out why. Firstly let me say I am derelict in my responsibilities in writing travel reviews. To my own shame. But also I often do not hold much stock in them due to not knowing the travel credentials of those writing them. Their experience may be vastly different to mine as might their budget and expectations. All these are relevant. Let me briefly outline mine. I (we) have been fortunate over 20 to 30 years of travelling extensively to over 40 countries, some many times. Over this time we have travelled on both the corporate dollar (lucky us) and been fortunate enough to see our own personal budget allow for both luxury and unique experiences as we have aged. I am uniquely placed to review this stunning property. I researched villas etc all over Europes hot summer locations to find a quite specific property. 4 friends meeting from varying locations on the globe for a get together in the sun. I wanted reasonable ease from London where three would eventually depart (the other Dublin) Often when booking for multiple people, accommodation has one maybe two good bedrooms, maybe size, or ensuite or particularly view. The rest are often average at best and in many cases less so. Equal partners in the cost then need to accept lesser accom for the sake of harmony. I wanted a pool, but one that had a view. Not looking at trees or walls. One that had good shade to lie and quality out door furniture to be comfortable. I wanted outdoor living, nice dining ability and decent bbq facilities. It was peak of summer after all. I wanted space. Albeit only 4 of us, I wanted to ensure we were not on top each other should we want solitude or all want to potter in the kitchen. An added bonus would be a gym or some gym equipment as one of the party was a daily attendee. It needed to be not too far from arriving airport as one was travelling separately without access to a car. Nearby beaches, shops, restaurants and supermarkets were considered. So in searching all over Europe for weeks, within a specified budget range I Stumbled on Villa GG 15 mins drive from Heraklion Airport, smartly positioned on the hillside above the local village with glorious views of the sea and the arc of the sun from sunrise to sunset. It met all my quite specific criteria and more Villa GG is owned and operated by Giogio and Gelli, a lively happy and gregarious couple who have invested time, money, love, sweat, experience and probably some tears in this outstanding holiday villa. In my vast experience it is everything you could want from a self contained holiday whether it be 4 or 14. It surpassed expectations on nearly every measurable level. If, for you, something doesn’t Giogio and Gelli will go out if there way to make sure it does. Stunningly designed to maximise the view and liveability in an outside/ inside arrangement, it caters to every need being fully equipped from head to toe. From the thorough meet and greet, tour and explanation of the house and property to the brief tour of the local village with recommendations of where to shop and eat and drink etc etc There continued follow up to ensure all is good, if you require assistance in anything regarding your holiday etc. I do not think anything has been forgotten or left to chance and still they discuss ideas for additions and improvements as they see them. Do your self a favour and stay here at some point in your life’s journey. Probably as good in winter as we found it in summer. Enjoy lovely Crete and your wonderful hosts.

1st Class Accommodations!! Our first time visiting Croatia and loved our week’s stay at Villa GG. We were greeted upon arrival by Greg with an array of local appetizers, fruit, and drinks. Greg was a wealth of knowledge, helping to assist with many local activities, must-see sights, and multiple great dining options. The Villa exceeded our expectations and worked extremely well for the five couples (3rd floor has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms), and apparent that Villa GG is carefully maintained and updated. The view is spectacular and enjoyed wonderful sunsets every evening. We had close access to the beach and local shops for groceries and restaurants. Plus a bonus was Greg’s assistance with a couple minor medical issues that he helped steer us in the right direction, due to his medical background. Wouldn’t hesitate to return to Villa GG!

Excellent accommodation with a superb host. Ivo Met is at the villa ( we arrived early) but was greeted with a friendly smile and he apologised as he was just getting the welcome drinks and food set up. Our party of 16 arrived during the day due to different flight times but it wasn’t a problem to Ivo. The accommodation is superb, arranged over three floors. Each floor has fully equipped kitchens with dishwashers! And American fridges with Ice and water dispensers too. It has steps to reach each floor - these can be slippery. The views on the top floor are breathtaking too. The villa is situated up a steep hill ... great walking down , but a little harder walking up in heat with groceries. The supermarket has basic essentials . The bus into split is every 20 minutes and costs 20 kuna - cheap ! <br/>often ordered an Uber back to the villa as easier to organise for 16 people after a meal out. <br/>Roof 68 was ok for drinks but the food & service was disappointing. The sister restaurant called the Olive Tree was so much better and the menu was identical to Roof 68 ! The Sea bass , the monk fish tagliatelle and meat platter were all good too. Joe’s Beach Bar is recommended - 150 kuna for a sunlounger . Needed! As the beach is Gravel! Wear beach shoes too ( asthe shingle is painful to walk on ... into the sea - crystal clear with a backdrop of a national park. We all agreed that Croatia was a great place to visit and will all go again ! THANKYOU Ivo for making it a great holiday too.

We have just returned home from spending a 2 week holiday as a family of 4 amongst a total family group of 15. What can i say the villa was amazing and the host GG and Ivo were on hand to help us get the most out of our first trip to Croatia. It is well placed in between Split and Omis and not to far from Krka national park to go a see the waterfalls. I would definately recomend, there is only one slight disadvantage if you are travelling with older or less abled guests. There is a rather steep climb to get from the main road/beach to the villa, other than this i cannot find any fault with our stay!

this place is special, a hidden gem, you will be bewitched i tell you by its charm :) An Ode to Villa GG There is a place that some do say the air is sweet and the night stars play in the clearest skies above the calmest sea the town called Split, is where my heart left me when I drew a breath and a took in its beauty I had no idea what that horizon would do to me to view the mountains, the sea and the sun everyday Podstrana is where my heart did sway In a villa no less, above the shore below It majestically stood amongst the houses to show the true allure and azure of the Adriatic sea Upon the balcony I dreamt in villa GG Detail, attention, comfort and style I cursed that my stay was only for a while I loved the open space and privacy too But the bathroom was the surprise waiting for you! Its warmth, its character and that it is family run Made you feel at ease, at peace and safe in the sun Nothing is an effort and everything with a smile Villa GG, was high standard by a mile! There is a place that i went to stay Where the smiles were sweet and in the night i did play In the warmest air above the sparkling sea In a town called Split, amongst the stars ......my soul I did free

Lovely place. We have been in the middle floor already six times (in total nine weeks now) and enjoyed every minute. View is as good or even better than in the pictures, if you are lucky you can even see dolphins playing. Rooms are nice and luxury, now mid floor is even nicer, updates were done in 2013. I highly recommend this place.

Pure luxury, with a warm heart. The villa is just amazing. Situated very close to Split in Podstrana, you can get to split very easily. The beach is close and the view is just beautifull. Grego is a warm host and you can ask him anything and he will get you the answer. We will come again!

Wow what a villa! Absolutely insane! And not only that, the owners make you feel so welcome and really look after you! The whole place is spotless, modern and unlike anything that I’ve seen! It’s perfect! The food here too is unbelievable! Excellent accommodation, location and hospitality! Cannot fault at all!
