I
have
had
a
Concierge
Primary
Care
physician
for
years
in
California.
Returning
to
the
Inland
Northwest
after
many
years
I
was
excited
to
see
Concierge
Medicine
had
arrived.
I
do
think
Dr.
Milonas
in
nice
enough
and
cares
about
his
patients.
That
said,
I
think
I
happened
to
join
his
"concierge"
practice
at
an
inopportune
time.
Let
me
clarify.
I
have
had
concierge
primary
care
physicians
for
years.
I'm
very
familiar
with
the
model.
Dr.
Milonas
was
trying
to
go
it
his
own
way,
with
12
super
patients
he
charged
upwards
of
5
figures,
north
of
$24,000
for
the
privilege
of
having
Dr.
Milonas
drive
their
prescriptions
onto
the
airport
tarmac
or
out
to
Gozzer
Ranch.
The
rest
of
us
paid
$1,800
per
year.
Now
the
prior
concierge
doctors
I
had
in
Los
Angeles
for
the
exact
same
amount
if
$1,800
gave
me
24/7
access
by
phone,
text
or
email
and
same
day
appointments.
Not
so
with
Dr.
Milonas.
That
kind
of
access
was
only
available
to
"The
12".
My
primary
issue
with
Dr.
Milonas
was
that
beginning
in
March
2021
when
I
first
joined,
the
first
thing
I
mentioned
is
that
I
hadn't
had
a
physical
for
over
a
year
and
that
I
would
like
one
or
at
least
I
wanted
a
Medicare
Wellness
Check
since
I
was
new
to
Medicare.
Absolute
Crickets.
He
did
send
me
to
physical
therapy,
sent
me
to
his
then
in-
house
exercise
physiologist,
and
such.
I
kept
mentioning
that
I
hadn't
had
a
physical
and
that
I
wanted
one
and
the
response
was
always
the
same....
Basically
no
response.
Summer
2022,
hurt
my
hamstring
playing
pickleball
and
contacted
his
office
about
a
referral
to
physical
therapy.
No
response.
By
Fall
2022,
hamstring
injury
has
improved
somewhat
but
I
was
feeling
always
feeling
fatigued.
Mind
you
I've
been
asking
Dr.
Milonas
for
a
physical/wellness
check
since
March
2021.
But
I
also
realize
that
although
I
can
afford
what
he
charges
"The
12"
I
don't
think
it
is
worth
it,
based
on
what
I
have
seen
so
far.
So,
I
sent
his
office
a
letter,
tried
to
call
but
no
one
answered,
and
said
I
would
not
be
renewing
my
concierge
membership.
Fortunately
I
found
another
concierge
doctor
in
Coeur
d'Alene
whose
practice
was
structured
similarly
to
those
concierge
doctors
I
had
used
before.
With
3
weeks
of
signing
up
at
my
new
concierge
doctor,
I
had
my
physical.
And
guess
what?
There
was
a
reason
I
was
so
fatigued...Asymptomatic
persistent
Atrial
Fibrillation.
It
makes
me
mad
in
a
way
because
I
kept
asking
Dr.
Milonas
about
getting
a
physical
for
over
a
year
before
I
finally
gave
up
and
took
my
business
elsewhere.
Maybe
my
Afib
would
have
been
caught
much
earlier.
We'll
never
know.
Dr
Milonas
a
really
nice
guy
but
he's
trying
to
do
concierge
medicine
on
his
own
and
it's
not
working.
There
are
really
good
concierge
models
out
there
that
basically
help
doctors
like
Dr
Milonas
get
their
practices
set
up,
companies
like
Concierge
Choice
MD
or
Signature
MD
to
name
a
couple
and
in
these
models
of
concierge
care,
same
day
appointments
are
the
norm.
Unless
you're
one
of
his
12
who
want
their
medication
delivered
to
your
waiting
plane
on
the
tarmac,
you
probably
want
to
look
elsewhere.
