Cottage Cafe is a small but cute atmosphere. I would plan on arriving about 15-30 minutes early as this place is hopping! I recommend street parking because the parking area is small and a bit tight. The waffles are a MUST here! Certainly one of the best places to get waffles in Spokane. I tried the piccadilly waffles, which had small pecan pieces cooked into the waffle and topped with ice cream, whipped cream, and banana slices. It was such a treat! The cottage fries were so good. We ordered them with a side of gravy, and oh my, it was delicious! Others in our group ordered a scramble and some other things, and everyone was happy with the food. While I didn't get the chance to try it this time, I've been told by several people that the cinnamon roll is very tasty. I'll definitely be coming back again.

They've got great coffee! It was strong, and not because it had been sitting on a warmer. I ordered eggs Benedict with home fries. The ham was several slices of shaved ham, not a thick slab like most places. That made it much easier to cut into cleanly, and was a great texture. The home fries were crispy fried and had a tasty, seasoned salt applied. The staff checked in and warmed up my coffee when it needed it. I'll definitely go again.

Stellar service and really good standard breakfast/lunch faire, REAL butter. Weekday visit, had a burger and waffle combo. Tip: get the Cottage Fries and try the strawberry jam. They also serve mimosas and beer.

Cottage cafe is one of my absolute favorite breakfast joints in town. The food is so fresh and delicious and consistent. One of the things I judge a breakfast place on is the sausage and CC had some of the best links in town. The bread is thick and delightful. The chef knows what he’s doing when it comes to eggs too. I watched so many omelets come out so fluffy and folded beautifully they looked like a blanket. I’m not generally a fan of omelets because I don’t like browned eggs but there wasn’t a spot on any of them I saw coming out and I think next time I may just have to order one. The cinnamon rolls are essentially the size of a loaf of bread and just beautiful.

This place is definitely worth all the hype. Amazing service from the waitresses - they were speedy quick on getting the tables cleaned to seat people as quick as possible and they were very nice. Food came out quick. The mimosas are STRONG and you can get a giant 32(?)oz one 🤣 My boyfriend got the scramble and loved it. They also sell their jam in jars for $9 - I HIGHLY recommend purchasing some! I am gluten free and cannot eat eggs so my choices were limited (no gf items here) I am not kidding when I say those were the best hashbrowns I’ve ever eaten lol and the ham was good too. The place is small so expect a wait especially on the weekend, call ahead to get a wait time.

Great homemade food. Friendly and welcoming staff. Great choice of writing utensil with the Sharpie S pen when signing for the check.

We came here for breakfast around noon on a Sunday and it was pretty full. We had to wait about 30 minutes. The staff was very friendly and got all our orders correct. I ordered the scrambler and some biscuits and gravy and it was delicious. The eggs Benedict and French toast were also delicious. Will definitely come back again.

This is a great little hidden place. Always super busy when I go by. So be prepared to sit a spell. I believe they only stay open till about 2. Didn't disappoint me and the prices are reasonable. Must try.

Not cheap, but very worth the wait and the price. Delicious, and as stated previously, get the cottage fries and try the homemade strawberry jam! My mom and I ended up going back every morning for breakfast the whole rest of the week. We ended up sharing a breakfast because they were so big there's plenty for 2. Just ask for a second plate and share 😉

Delicious little diner. The place was packed on a Thursday at 10am? Short wait for our table. Even shorter wait for food. The food came surprisingly fast and was delicious! The service was excellent! It's definitely worth it!

This place is always a great choice for breakfast! We try for weekdays so it's not as busy, but well worth the wait!! Chicken fried steak is so yummy and their cottage fries and country gravy are the best! We had Kristy as a server and she was so sweet and very attentive!

I'm really happy that this place to survive the pandemic. My family's been eating here for years, and even though a lot of my family has passed, I still go and bring friends for brunch. The atmosphere is a little classier than your average diner, giving you a little European cottage feel. The staff has good humor, and will always make sure your coffee is topped off and hot. I am a huge fan of their cinnamon roll, and I love their omelettes after a workout. Although sometimes if I need extra food I'll hit the scramble. I would say other than that their eggs benedict is pretty good as well as their waffles. Considering this place costs just as much as a Denny's or a Sherry's, there's no reason you shouldn't be going here instead.

I'm really trying to be positive about our first time visit! The rap music playing in the kitchen! It is extremely loud and volger! There are lots of families with young children!! 😳 Other's have expressed their opinions in the comments about the loud music! We will not be returning!

This is our new breakfast place by a stretch, a smaller dining location it's pretty much packed, so get there early or have tremendous patience; especially on the weekends. This location opens early which is fantastic, one of our favorite breakfast places doesn't open until 0800 so that is a little limited given our usual time schedule. Food is fantastic; hot stuff is hot, cold stuff is cold, flavorful, good hearty homestyle type food for a fair price. Highly Recommended!

This is my new favorite place!! The food was so good I wanted to cry 😭 It reminded me of mom’s cooking growing up. The toast was thick and delicious, not something I’d expect out of a cafe. Add the homemade strawberry jam and you have a winner. The portion sizes are large and very affordable. I can’t rave enough, as a pregnant woman, a good plate of food goes a long way. Cottage Cafe had me doing the happy food dance 😊

Super cute café. Always packed so be sure the get here early. Rush hour is between 830-930. Lots of excellent food for your buck. The home made strawberry jam is impeccable!

The food was amazing, but the service told you right off the bat that you were to order fast, eat fast, and leave. We did have to wait to get in for a few minutes, but they turned the tables very quickly.

Food was delicious. Hostess and server were great, didn’t rush us even though busy… but made us feel uncomfortable towards the end

It was great! Come get some food in your face! The food was all homemade, the place looks like a wonderful little cottage, and the service was quick, friendly, and above & beyond. To Cottage Cafe: keep being awesome!

Great breakfast place! Very cozy environment, it actually feels like a homey cottage. As a vegetarian this place does have many options and specificly a vegetarian eggs benedict which is very good! The place is small so plan for lines and a wait to find a table. Not a good place for large groups. All in all it is one of the best breakfast places in Spokane Valley.

Greeted warmly by Mandy, who was also our server. A short wait, but so worth it. We were seated to a great booth. She brought our coffee and drinks quickly and took our order promptly. The food was the best. Her service was outstanding. I would recommend the Cottage Cafe and hope you get Mandy to be your server. All the staff were polite and professional. GREAT PLACE!

Totally worth everything to go here! The food is to die for and it's such a cute atmosphere. The service is wonderful and I highly recommend trying their home made jam on your pancakes/waffles! It's amazing. Our family has been coming here for years and we adore this place.

Best breakfast in the valley. The staff is great & the atmosphere is country comfortable. Prepare for a wait (around a 1/2 hr fir us) but it was worth it. The place feels bigger than it is, but it's definitely a "cottage" -they could use more outside seats. The FOOD is absolutely amazing. The portions are huge & you'll leave satisfied.

First time at this place, BEST chicken fried steak I’ve ever had! You have to come in and try their cottage fries. Amazing service and homemade strawberry sauce. Will definitely be coming back all the time.

This place always seems to be busy. The breakfasts we've had here have been great. Come hungry because the portions are large. I ordered from the "for the smaller appetite" section of the menu and the pancake was still huge.

Absolutely love this place! I took my kids there today (a Wednesday morning at 9) because we’ve often driven by and the wait was longer than we were up for. I completely understand why! Firstly, the service was great- friendly and efficient- which made the atmosphere pleasant, even as it got busier. The food was so so good. I got the Country Benedict- I’ll have a hard time not getting this every time we come back. We loved the strawberry jam so much we had to order a jar to go. Overall, this was the best breakfast out I’ve had since we’ve lived in Spokane.

One of the best breakfast dishes I’ve ever had. (Vegetarian Benedict) Flew in from Maryland to visit and was recommended this place. Was not disappointed. From the atmosphere to the food. Will definitely come back!

Stopped for lunch on a road trip. Service was awesome with a fun vibe. Cinnamon rolls are huge and so sweet I couldn’t eat the whole thing, son had biscuits and gravy and loved it and daughters fish and chips was good too. The fries were REALLY tasty and the squeeze bottle of strawberry jam was fun!

I walk in, sit down, automatically have coffee in front of me. They know exactly what I want and it's perfect every time. I am in and outta there in 20 minutes max. Not that they ever rush me, they are just that good. Also, if you like to dip your toast in your egg yolk... they always serve the toast with the meal...not 5 minutes after when your eggs are cold. My absolute favorite place for breakfast and I know that 99% of Spokane agrees.

Food tasted good, definitely worth a stop, not as spendy as I expected. You should try the hollandaise with your hashbrowns.

  • 5/5 Craig H. 2 years ago on Google
With the kitchen adjoining the dining area, and friendly service, the Cottage Cafe provides great food and positive vibes. My vegetarian hollandaise breakfast and coffee were excellent, and food arrived quickly.

Stopped in for lunch. This place is quite busy so expect to wait for a table. They serve breakfast all day so I had the chicken fried steak and eggs it was quite good. My mother had the BLT and said it was the best bacon she had ever had. I'd like to go back with my family for breakfast but the wait for a table on Sunday might be quite long.
