We are repeat customers, many times over, and many years over. Every trip is so different, so we look forward to coming back each time. Bill is great as is the crew of the boat and the naturalist! We learn something new every single trip. Looking for a fun adventure close to home? Definitely take a Jersey Shore Whale Watching Tour!!!! Photos are original by me (Lisa) and were taken from a Jersey Shore Whale Watching Tour.

My family and I had a 1:15 tour booked for Friday the 22nd. We absolutely enjoyed our time. The crew were so nice. And the whales did not disappoint. We saw 2 humpback whales. One was kind enough to give everyone on the boat a little by jumping out of the water. We would definitely do it again. We had an awesome time. Thank you to everyone from Jersey Shore Whale Watch for making our experience a memorable one.

Visited a second time and reviewing it again. A free trip as promised, as we didn't see a whale during the spring trip. Great experience this time. We saw a couple of whales. And I see drastic positive change in the way the crew deals with everything. Spring experience ‐----------------------------- I know whale watching can always be a game of luck. But at the end of the day, the experience counts. I just shed 200 bucks here and got nothing. Weather was not good, no whale, no dolphins, only some sea birds swimming in water. bad luck, I guess. The crew could have made this boring experience brighter by arranging something, may be some entertainment onboard, I don't know. As I said, end of the day the experience is what matters. They said they will give us a free trip as we didn't see the whale. We will go back may be in summer to try one more luck. The reason why 3 star is not the above. Those are below. Kids tickets when booked says it comes with t shirts. At the time of booking they collect kids names, I thought for having printed t-shirts. Nothing. You need to ask, then only you will get a t shirt. That too they do search in a bunch of boxes for some time and find some size. Not prepared at all. Didn't like the crew smoking right next to kids. Either they should find a different space or they should request the people to move. But they were like, I don't care, this is my place, I will do what ever I want

I enjoyed our trip very much. My husband and I tried this tour and saw a beautiful whale 🐋 and dolphins. I even snapped amazing photos. Parking was a little bit of an issue since the parking lot is shared with the restaurants in the same area, definitely get there at least an 1 hour earlier or so. A couple on the tour said they paid $3 to park in a lot near the bridge 🌉 since they couldn't find anything. Not a terrible price if you're having trouble with a spot...but you do need to walk a bit to get to the boat. Overall...great tour, beautiful views, b food available for on the boat and 2 restrooms on the first floor upon entering. Melyg_photography Instagram juju

Very accommodating. I made my initial reservation in July and due to weather and other issues had to re-book twice. Not a single issue. We had a great time. We were out for quite a while and there was no activity. Toward the end, a whale was spotted and put on quite a show. The crew kept the boat near the whale well past the scheduled return time so all the passengers could enjoy the whale. The crew are top notch. There is also a naturalist on board who was very informative and kept everyone engaged during the slow points of the trip. I took my 8 year old who is obsessed with ocean creatures. We was literally squealing with happiness. Highly recommended and we will definitely be going again.

This was so much fun! Where to start? At first it looked like there would be too many people, but you had plenty of room to move around. Everyone had a seat, and there were clean bathrooms on board. We saw whales, and LOTS of dolphins! The staff were very kind, helpful, and informative. My party’s tour was actually supposed to be on Saturday, but we missed the boat. I called right away and I believe it was Bill, was so kind enough to let us come in the next day instead! I could not believe it! We all had an amazing experience! I am definitely coming back with other groups. Thank you so much for a fun tour! Oh, and there was yummy food for sale on board!

Absolutely breathtaking! Saw three whales lunge feeding at the same time! The naturalists pointing out the whales and other marine life were very knowledgeable and informative. We learned a lot about the wildlife and saw amazing whale sightings. All the staff was very friendly and kind. The boat was clean and food and drink options were very good considering. Great way to spend an afternoon!!

Had a lot of fun. They made sure we saw whales, so the trip was extended to seek out these elusive creatures. Saw a humpback breach , saw schools of bait fish, and some bottle nose dolphins (which rode the wake of our boat). Boat is fully stocked with food and drink and plenty of places to get a good view. I would highly recommend Jersey Shore Whale Watching.

Had a great trip on a great boat. Co-operative Humpbacked Whales and dolphins but wish I had got a better shot of the breach (my fault - didn't spot it fast enough - but get a better one next time I hope).

Absolutely WONDERFUL tour. Done in such an environmentally conscious and thoughtful way as they have actual scientists and scholars on board telling you all about the ecosystem. we saw at least 20-30 fins, tails, breaches, etc. there must be SO MANY whales off the coast here for the show we got in a mere three hours. Highly recommend. And if you are a boater please slow down bc these magnificent creatures are so curious and approach the boats and it’s very easy to harm them if you aren’t as cautious as this company is. They really created such a beautiful experience for my family and I, while keeping the wildlife in mind - we will surely be back again and again thanks to the amazing crew.

Great day on the water! We viewed a whale and got to learn all about the whales' feeding and migration habits! What a fun and exciting day! The crew was very personable and told us local stories. Even my sullen teenager put down her phone - a minor miracle!

My friend & I had a great day on the water. The weather was beautiful and the water was calm. We saw 2 humpback whales and we watched them for an hour. It was amazing! The female naturalist (Melissa) narrated and gave us a lot of information about the whales and sea life. The crew was very accommodating. Thanks to the Captain and the crew for an incredible day.

It’s an incredible experience, the place is perfect and everybody is friendly. We got rebooked due to the weather but it was absolutely worthy. It was our first trip ever and we absolutely lucky to watch a lot of dolphins and in our first whale. It’s amazing to be that close but even better to be in its habitat

My first trip was Oct 2020. It was great. Planned to go back November 2021, weather cancelled it. Planned for May, weather cancelled it again. Booked for July 3. Perfect weather saw tons of dolphins and a couple of whales. Staff great as always. I have been on Belmar Princess for fishing a few times. One of deck staff saw some activity, gave us a tip on where to keep an eye on ...he was right. Clean boat. Tip for people not familiar with the jersey shore. Get there EARLY parking can be limited in the marina, boat leaves on time!

The trip is amazing! :) The crew gave us some education regarding the whales. It's nice to see them in action. The trip we only book for whales but we're able to see dolphins as well. :) Highly recommended! :) We're definitely going to watch again :)

This is my third time whale watching. Was so excited to bring my family that is visiting from out town. The boat is clean and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Also, there is plenty of parking and there is a restaurant in the same parking lot so you can grab a bite afterwards. So much fun and would highly recommend. Today was extra awesome with 4-5 different whales and many lunge feedings. Could finally check that off my bucket list of things to see.

We had a great time with Jersey Shore Whale Watching. We saw a nice size humpback! The whole crew was very nice and helpful. They were also very knowledgeable and gave good insight on whales along the Jersey Shore. We definitely would take another tour with Jersey Shore Whale Watching again.

Saturday 9/21 was a great day. I went on 2 trips! On the afternoon trip, we saw dolphins, they were awesome. We were told there was a whale in the area, although we couldn't find it. As it's guaranteed whale sighting or another trip, we were asked if we were interested in going back out for the sunset whale cruise. It was a beautiful day, so why not! So I did. I don't think it took 15 minutes on the evening trip to find the elusive whale we didn't see, all afternoon! Then came the sunset... beautiful yellow, orange, red sunset one direction, with the whale enjoying itself beside the boat. Pink, purple, blue, almost full harvest moon in the other direction. It was simply a glorious evening & a fantastic day! Thank you, Jersey Shore Whale Watch.

We had a very interesting time on this trip. It was a well organized trip from beginning to end. From the time we stepped into the marina we were met with friendly staff and we're given thorough instructions. We did not wait long before boarding. The boat is big and clean with lots of seating up top and in bottom. The ride was smooth and handled with care to not get too close to the whales. We were given tons of information about not just whales, but all kinds of aquatic life. She was very thorough without being boring. They lead up to the whales and we were able to take pictures from both sides of the boat. She explained the shallow and deep dives of the whales to help us understand it's behavior. It was a really interesting experience that we will definitely do again.

Lovely tour to watch the Atlantic with it’s own beauty. If your expectations are too high for whales, better change that to OCEAN WATCHING TOUR!

Crew was fantastic and made sure we had a great trip. This tour is a gem of the shore! We are so lucky to have this ability to enjoy this nature tour. Not to be missed for sure 🤩🤩🤩. I will definitely be booking future tours.

I have been in many whale watching expeditions ranging from Maine to Florida, but never have I had the pleasure of experiencing a event like the Jersey Shore Whale Watching tour. Bill and his Crew are the most professional, dedicated, and responsible tour company around. They are so confident in their mission and service that they even offer a free return trip if you do not see a whale; in fact I recently returned on a expedition (for free) and saw a playfully curious Humpback Whale. Thank you Jersey Shore Whale Watching Tours for being so awesome and for the amazing experience. FYI - they offer a 12 hour tour periodically for which I stand behind 1000%. We saw numerous fin whales, minke whales, and humpback whales.

Great time out on the water. The crew couldn’t possibly be more friendly, polite, and accommodating. We left as scheduled, we saw whales and sting rays and we had a lovely time. I’d highly recommend this outfit.

This is definitely a worthwhile tour. We went on the 7/11/23 12:00-3:00 tour and had three separate whale sightings where the whales came out of the ocean multiple times. We also saw dozens of bay fish and dolphins. There was a running narration by Danielle that was very informative and helpful in spotting the whales and other fish. Here are some practical tips: 1. Parking in the marina and the additional parking lot can be very tight (we couldn't find a spot). Save yourself time and aggravation by turning at Tenth Ave toward the Belmar train station instead of turning into the marina. There is plenty of free parking. If you park at the train station opposite the building that says Belmar Mall, you can easily cross Route 35 at a traffic light to go to the Jersey Shore boat. It's only about two tenths of a mile. 2. Go to the bathroom before you arrive. They tell you to arrive at least 30 minutes early, but there is no bathroom available at the marina, and you can't use the bathroom on the boat until 10 minutes after departure when it's out in the ocean. 3. There are three different seating sections on two levels. General seating is on the lower level. It has the most people (because it's the least expensive). It's a bit noisy toward the rear of the boat on the first level because you're right by the engines There are built in benches along the side of the first level, but if you want to be in the front of the boat (to have the best views), you will wind up standing for three hours because there is no place to sit there. Reserved seating is on the second level. There are comfortable folding chairs (but no assigned seating). You can see out the sides of the boat, but the front view is obstructed by the Captain's wheelhouse. Finally there is VIP Captain's View seating. Same folding chairs as for the Reserved Seating, but they are directly in front of the Captain's wheelhouse, so you have an unobstructed view in front and on both sides. My wife and I paid for those seats and they were well worth the extra money.

Great experience! We saw a few dolphins and the staff was welcoming. They made the most of the experience—directing passengers on where to look and providing an easy check-in process. The boat was clean and well-kept. There are plenty of tables on the interior of the boat where you can sit and have a snack. Parking can fill up quickly, so ensure you build enough time before your departure. I would highly recommend it--we will be returning!

We had an awesome time whale watching with Jersey Shore Whale Watching Tours in Belmar. They were great with being informative, crew was friendly and they knew where the whales liked to travel to. The heated cabin was spacious. Once we were close to the whale, the boat slowed down and they told us where exactly to look. We got to see a fin whale and a gorgeous sunset as we headed back to Belmar Marina. Overall, a great experience and we highly recommend it for couples and families!

Whale watching has been on my bucket list. I loved everything about this tour. The boat was large and comfortable and had air conditioned seating inside if you needed a break from the sun. They had a wide assortment of snacks/beverages and some basic grill food like burgers for sale. I was losing hope of seeing whales after we were a good hour or so into the trip when they announced there was a humpback ahead. The boat slowed and we were able to see this one followed by another one. The captain extended our trip a half hour so we had plenty of time to enjoy this great experience. Highly recommend this tour.

My wife and I chose to celebrate our 30th anniversary with a whale watch trip since it was something we had done on our honeymoon. The experience was excellent! Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the captain even gave us some extra time to spot more whales and dolphins. One of many reasons to love the Jersey Shore!

  • 5/5 Nicole H. 10 months ago on Google
This was my first time on a whale watch boat. The crew was very courteous and the naturalist was extremely knowledgeable. The boat was comfortable and the captain did a great job positioning us to see the whales and dolphins. I will recommend Jersey Shore Whale Watching to my family and friends.

Went this past weekend and loved every minute! The staff that we encountered were wonderful. Saw multiple whales, some very close to the boat. We plan on coming back again later this summer/early fall. We did reserved seating which was nice because we had seats at the front of the boat, but don’t think it’s necessary for next time. Once the whales are spotted everyone runs to the front of the boat to see so the reserved seats don’t mean much. Didn’t bother us at all to stand with everyone, just won’t pay the extra money next time. I saw some reviews about not getting the free shirts. We had to ask the girl selling snacks inside for them and were given them. However, I don’t think she realized that it’s advertised with all ticket purchases online. as other people started asking about their shirts she was asking to see their tickets and mentioned that VIP seating gets them so I can see how there was some confusion. I don’t think a shirt should reflect your experience. Overall, we had a great day and looking forward to coming back!

Our college Alumni group had 60+ people on The Jersey Girl sunset cruise. Everyone had a wonderful time. The owners Bill & Kristine were accommodating and helpful throughout the booking process and the cruise. Boat crew was friendly. Boat layout was perfect for a big group. DJ was playing the perfect music. Highly recommend the owners, boat, and crew.
