Food ,service everything about our visit was excellent best thing was our waitress Maria

My husband and I are from Chattanooga, TN and since we moved to Parkersburg 18 months ago, we have been looking for a japanese restaurant that could make a Sushi roll, SCORPION KING ROLL, the same way that our favorite place in TN makes my husband's fave roll at our fave restaurant, FUJI. nobody, and I mean NOBODY, would even look at what The Scorpion King Roll has in it, much less try to find something similar to it that they offer. Nobody in town does Custom-made Sushi, as far as everyone knows. We decided to try Shogun tonight for the first time. Our server, Maria, was EXCEPTIONAL!!! We asked if they could custom make us a roll like my husband's fave, and instead of shooting us down, she went and asked her manager and the cook/chef if they could, and they went out of their way to make it for him. Then named it after him!!!! EXCELLENT!!! I 100% RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!

The food is amazing especially the soup and salad appetizer. The employees are very kind and feels cozy just being there. No rushing you and just an overall good time. I recommend the sesame chicken!

I moved here from Chattanooga TN 18 months ago and NOT ONE place would make a roll like they have back home. The manager here said they would make it!!! Not only was it clean and good smelling bathrooms the will make what you want!!! HANDS DOWN BEST SUSHI PLACE IN THE MOV!!!! THE FOOD IS GREAT AND THE SERVICE IS EVEN BETTER!!! our server Maria was born to do this job. SHE WAS FANTASTIC!!! PLEASE TRY IT THEY WONT LET YOU DOWN!!!

5/5 stars for me. The staff were friendly, the food was delicious with generous portions and the prices were a steal. Also some of the best sweet tea I've had in years. I highly recommend going for lunch and getting a bento box. I got two meals out of one!

Excellent Hibachi food. Only thing to keep in mind is this place doesn't have the typical make the food in front of you seating. This is a more traditional restaurant with only tables and booths. With that in mind the food was absolutely amazing. Very much on par with other Hibachi restaurants I have eaten at. There is a large menu with plenty of non-hibachi or sushi options if you are not into that. A very very good place to eat and the staff was super friendly and took good care of us while we were there. Just don't expect your food to be made in front of you or you'll be disappointed.

I love eating here! They have a variety of freshly made sushi. The chicken hibachi, lo main, and shrimp fried rice was delicious. All the staff were very friendly. I would definitely go back again!

I used to go here all the time and just recently moved back after about a year and decided to come eat here since it was always my favorite place. Yikes! There was some miscommunication between what I ordered and what the waitress heard and wrote down for the kitchen and I ended up getting the wrong meal. I assured the waitress that it was fine and I would eat it anyways because there was no point in wasting it. She told the kitchen that it was wrong and she came back and took the meal anyways which was fine but I felt like their attitude changed from that point and I felt like a nuisance so I just boxed up the correct plate of food she brought me, paid, and left. The turtle roll was excellent but I felt like the staff got upset with me over something simple and over something that didn’t need to be wasted so it’ll be awhile before I go back if at all. I didn’t recognize the staff this time which like I said it’s been awhile since I’ve been here but just not a great experience. Unfortunately.

Always a great experience coming here. The food is always hot and amazing, the service is on it, meeting your every need, and the music is good, setting the mood. The clear soup lifts my spirit every time I go in, the chicken hibachi always hits the spot, and the Yum-yum roll is to die for. So decadent it can double as both an entree and a dessert. Perfection.

Had the Lexington Roll and it was really good, so was the service. Rice on the roll was a tad overcooked so it stuck to the plate but the flavors were awesome.

Cleanest Asian restaurant in Parkersburg!! Atmosphere is wonderful and servers and cooks were well trained and helpful

Food was meh? Vegetable tempura was good. Miso soup was not. Parkersburg roll was okay. Service was good

I have intense loyalty to restaurants I like. Today I strayed from my go to sushi place, (Fusion) because they close from 2-4pm. I gave Shogun a chance over Tokyo because I think Tokyo is pretty bad. Shogun is cheaper than Fusion by a few dollars. Quality wise it is no contest, Fusion knocks it out of the park. Ordered 4 Spicy Salmon rolls to go today for team lunch and received 4 spicy California Rolls. I double checked my receipt online and on the bag to make sure I didn't miss click and order the wrong items. I did not. I don't know if it was a mistake or malicious, but I paid for salmon and got imitation crab Spicy California rolls. Not what I ordered.

Went there last night around 7:30pm the food was great! And the portion sizes were massive! the waiter was super funny and really nice I honestly thaught he was hilarious! I will be going again for sure!!!

I’ve always loved Shogun but they recently doubled their prices. Unfortunately my family and all of my coworkers that like to go will not be back

Food was pretty average. But I’m pretty salty that for a 10 dollar pre-paid tip the delivery driver couldn’t even be bothered to knock on the door to let us know the food had arrived. It was getting towards the end of the delivery window (like the very end, 2-3 minutes) so I decided to track the delivery. Said it had been delivered like 15 minutes previous. So we go to check the door before calling the restaurant, and there’s a bag a food that’s been sitting on the porch for 20 minutes getting cold. Zero chance the delivery person attempted to knock on the door. We were in the room waiting, and if we hadn’t heard a knock, our dog would have. This is why I hate the pre-paid tipping platform.

Absolutely the WORST experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant! Didn’t get served what we ordered. Then when we said it’s not right they wanted to catch an attitude about it. Two meals and ONE appetizer was $70 so it definitely wasn’t worth the price since the service was awful! I’ll NEVER BE BACK TO THIS PLACE!!

They have the largest portions in the Mid-Ohio Valley and the food is always amazing and fresh. You definitely can't beat their sushi. The plates take up half the table and they're filled up.

Hibachi is not good. Shrimp tasted old and rubbery. Steak unseasoned. Will not visit again, very disappointed.

Food were tasty and delicious. The presentation was appetizing for a small city like Parkersburg in WV. The service was good and the price is affordable.

Shogun’s one of my favorite sushi places in Parkersburg! The food’s amazing and tastes close to the authentic sushi you get in Japan. I love getting sushi & sashimi from them. They’re much less pricey than Fusion but the quality in their food are almost the same!

Ordered Doordash for 5 rolls. And got 3. Tried to sort with employees and told I was dumb and that I got 5. I try to be completely understanding of these things but not with that kind of arrogance. Please just go to Fusion. It's better for your wallet and pallette and sanity.

The food is great u get large portions food is fresh and hot service is wonderful polite and visits tables often to refill drinks all around great experience

Thought it was weird they had all of their paper products stacked up in the corner of the restaurant like a storage room. The waitress was nice, the food was good. Reasonably priced

I like this place, its aesthetically pleasant, clean, staff are friendly and food tasted good. Its a bit pricey and portions are smaller. The waiter misunderstood my order a couple times but we got it cleared up and they made good on their mistake.

I love this place! Always great food anytime I’ve eaten there! I usually grab a dinner to take home as well for the next few days! The staff is very nice and accommodating also! I would highly recommend Shogun’s!💜
