When
touring
Philadelphia,
no
trip
is
complete
without
visiting
the
historical
sites.
There
are
many
museums
and
special
exhibitions
to
see,
but
to
get
a
more
in-depth
view
of
our
nation's
history,
a
walking
tour
with
a
local
historian
is
a
must.
After
researching
several
tour
companies,
we
chose
Founding
Footsteps
Tours,
and
we
opted
for
a
private
tour
to
avoid
a
larger
group
due
to
covid
as
well
as
to
have
dedicated
attention
from
the
guide
so
all
our
questions
would
be
answered.
We
were
fortunate
to
have
as
our
guide
Casey,
who
is
not
only
a
local
resident
but
also
is
a
history
teacher.
He
spent
over
two
hours
with
us,
walking
us
all
across
historic
Philadelphia,
stopping
at
the
many
sites:
The
Liberty
Bell,
grave
site
of
Benjamin
Franklin,
Firehouse
Engine
8
Ladder
2,
Betsy
Ross'
house,
Elfreth's
Alley,
the
Franklin's
printing
press
shop
and
home
site,
and
ending
at
Independence
Hall,
with
a
smattering
of
a
few
other
places
in
between.
He
was
a
terrific
tour
guide
and
we
highly
recommend
Founding
Footsteps
for
your
Philadelphia
historic
tours.
