The highest ease of hike to spectacular view ratio in Zion. Parking is difficult, but well worth the effort. The hike itself is easy, with the hardest part up front as you climb 100 steps or so in the first part of the hike. After that, there are a couple of simple rock scrambles and a few ledges with a 10 to 15 foot drop. Nothing hard or exceptionally dangerous, but something to be aware of. The end of the 1/2 mile trail is a 1000 foot vantage point that overlooks Pine Creek Canyon and the beginning of Zion Canyon. Amazing.

We passed through the stunning Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel Hwy. Just off Rt.9 Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel Hwy is parking area for Canyon overlook trail (1 mile, easy, a must for Instagram feed) We spend about 2 hours here including the hike, soaking in the view and most importantly taking pictures! We were done by 11 am.

Spending weekends outdoors does not disappoint! πŸ‘πŸ‘ The trailhead is just outside the end of Mount Carmel Tunnel, in the eastern part of Zion NP. The most challenging part is getting a parking spot. As one of the most popular hiking trails in Zion NP, it's beautiful, short and easy to follow. Perched above the Great Arch passing cool shaded alcoves with ferns growing out of the walls then leads to a stunning view of Zion Canyon at 5,270 ft above! We enjoyed the view of Route 9 switchbacks below, the Bridge Mountain which is the highest peak on the left side of the canyon, the impressive rock formation to our right is the East Temple and if you're exploring, spot the tunnel "windows" of the canyon wall to the left and the Pine Creek stream below. We spent an hour up here, admiring the awesome view. It's definitely a short and fun hike for all ages! πŸ“The Canyon Overlook Trail is one hiking gem of Zion National Park. β€’ Easy-Moderate β€’ 1 mile RT β€’ 1 Hour (Total) β€’ 180 Total Feet of Climbing β€’ Max Elevation of 5,270 feet β€’ No Dogs Allowed β€’ No Permit Needed β€’ Open Year Round β€’ Can be muddy after a rainstorm and icy in the winter

This easy hike is always worth adding to the agenda. I’ve visited these views countless times and I am never disappointed when I come here. This overlook is absolutely incredible at literally any time of day. Contrary to popular misconception, this is NOT Observation Point. Somehow it seems that many still mix these trails up. Both have incredible views, but this one is a lot easier which means parking will always be terrible and you will never have the place to yourself. Still worth it though. πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

It's commonly known as Canyon Overlook Trail, didn't know it goes with name Pine Creek Canyon Overlook Trail in Google map. There are only 9 parking spots at the trailhead right outside of tunnel, we were lucky this time to get one. The views along the trail were amazing already, I enjoyed every step of the way. Since the trail is pretty easy, almost flat with elevation of 5270ft, it's very crowded during holiday season, and it's the most popular trail in Zion NP. At the top, we can see spectacular view of the canyon, which is similar to the view from Angels Landing we climbed few years ago. There were also 4 big horn goats goofing around on left side, they were not afraid of people at all. We wondered around for an hour, taking pictures and sitting on the rock to enjoy the view: Bridge Mountain on the left side of the canyon, East Temple on right side, the Pine Creek stream below.

This is a great sunrise spot. The parking lot (which is directly after the tunnel when traveling from the visitor center) fills very quickly. We arrived about 45 minutes before sunrise and hiked to the overlook in the dark. Don't forget your headlamp or flashlight. The trail is rocky and steep - you. want to wear proper shoes. It is an out and back trail that takes about 35 minutes to complete. There is approximately 190 feet of elevation gain, and the trail is rated as moderate. There is a small bridge you will cross and a few spots with steep drop offs, but there are rails or wide paths in those areas. The view from the. top. is beautiful - a vast canyon with red cliffs that shine when the sun hits them in the morning.

This place is absolutely gorgeous. Hard to find parking tho, but can parallel park to the side of the road/dirt. There are 2 portable-like bathrooms. The view definitely worth to stop for. I did have hard time finding a way back due to no other people around and wasn't sure which way I came from. Fortunately, I heard a crowd and followed the sound

Absolutely stunning!! The views are amazing from the overlook at the top. The trail isn't too bad, but possibly challenging at times for those that aren't very physically active. Otherwise even the views hiking to the top are gorgeous, including a little cave which is a nice spot to rest and watch the chipmunks.

Even though the trail is short, it takes 40-60 min to complete since you take many pictures and there are slightly difficult parts of it, especially in winter time. But the view to hairpins of the canyon is just amazing and it is a great hike.

For a quick walk, the pay off with a great view was high. The challenge is not the hike but finding parking at the trail head. With this walk you get a rock overhang (cave), great view, and bridge walk. So glad we did it.

Make sure to bring gripping hiking shoes because the ground is so slippery with sand and rocks

If you can find a spot to park, then you are allowed to enjoy this beautiful trail. It's easy for kids to walk along.

Great place to watch the sunrise. Went in June and it was chilly and windy enough for a light sweater. Only two parking spots open when I got there around 5 am. Definitely try to go early during the busy season. Short hike to the lookout too with a tiny bit of incline

An absolute staple of Zion, this easy hike gives you a small sample of everything you're about to experience as you overlook the Canyon.

Best lookout if you want an easy hike. 1mi round trip. The beginning is the steepest part. Probably gets busy and hiker traffic could be troublesome. Narrow single lane in a few spots

An easy and shore Trail, but probably one of the most beautiful close to the national park .For now the best view we have seen in the park area. Quite an easy hike, be prepared for weather conditions such as strong sun or rain

This is a must do hike! Not too hard, just rocky and narrow at points. It also doesn't take long to complete. I'd say it took us 45 minutes to 1 hour total. You get a gorgeous canyon view at the end. Parking is tough, there's only a couple of spots on the side of the main road. Oh, and the chipmunks come right up to you. We didn't want to sit close to the edge in case one of them spooked us!

So glad we stopped here for a short hike out to the overlook. Parking is right before the tunnel entrance and very small so difficult to find a spot. Trail is narrow and sketchy enough to keep it interesting. Great views of the canyon and the surrounding rock walls. Really great little hike most people miss. Also going through the long tunnel with no other cars around makes it really fun and opportunity for some cool pictures. 😁
