But bit costly Jet ski for 2ppl(5min) - ₹900 Jet ski for 3ppl(10min) - ₹1150 For family motor boat with 6ppl(20 min)- ₹750 For family motor boat with 8ppl(20 min)- ₹1000.. Myself tried family motor boat, nice entertainment. But for gov india tourism they chrage too much in my opinion. Snacks: Tea cost ₹22 Bajji 1 plate(3 pieces) - ₹35

We went to the island beach which is 20 mins away from the boat jetty. Spent 2 hours there. Beach is pristine and very clean. They have 1 big hut and 5 small huts to sit and relax. You’ll only get tender coconuts inside, plan your food, snacks and water if you are planning to take 2 hours package. Also try not to miss visiting the place where backwater and sea water meets. You’ll also sight more birds at this point.

Different beach experience,no crowd,no bajji stall, worth the price they charge for boat ride. Clean and well maintained beach you will love to put your legs down. Good place to go with family, friends u can carry bat balls play eat and relax. They do provide food service on pre order.

MDK is a superbike paradise on every weekends. Reaching early can help with having a peaceful experience. Many families also visit this place during weekends for boating. So, If you wish to spend time with your family by enjoying boat rides or if you wish to have a long ride with your biker's friends to check out many super bikes and cars, this is the only good destination to visit. Also visit this place before 9am orelse they will charge 10rs from us.

On the way to Pondicherry, stop here and enjoy boating. The boatman will ask you for 500 rs in the middle of the water for a 10-minute extra ride. Although the notice is there on the ticket window not to pay anything on the boat this is how boatmen earn extra money.

It was a good experience for our kids. They enjoyed the boat ride and had so much fun of the beach Island (not really an island though 😂) Take spare clothes for kids in case they are taking bath in the beach and a plastic cover for the wet clothes. Better to take some snacks for the kids. And lot of water if you are going during the afternoon time. Sunscreen is must for the kids and adults. It was 3500 for the boat ride, we dutched with another family of 4. Small water Bottles were available for 10 rs but it gets over quickly. It was a enjoyable evening ❤️ for us and the kids ❤️

On the way to pondy, stopped here to rest and had Tea and Coffee. There were a few families coming for boat rides. Many of the boats were damaged and not maintained properly.

Lovely place to be with family, kids. An island to spend time. Decent food. There are some boat rides options, depending on the size of the family or friends, one can choose a ride accordingly. The staff at the Raindrop boat house are very courteous. Bathrooms were very well maintained !.

Very courteous staff, can be developed as a good family outing spot near to Chennai. Good place to visit and spend some time along with family. Need to carry our own water as in the island you do not find any. Island maintenance needs to be improved and public should avoid throwing waste bottles and paper over it.

A must visit when on your way to visit Mahabalipuram or Pondicherry. A must do is the boat ride & stopover at the island. You can spend a few hours relaxing there. Also heard that if planned, lunch can be arranged.

What a beautiful place to boat around the bushes! Way better when compared to Muttukadu. They have multiple packages when selecting a boat. When you opt for the longer ones, you'll be allowed to disembark on the island beach and spend half an hour there. The beach is so clean with lots of beautiful small thatches and benches under it.

Wonderful experience, got to see lot of birds and the Boat ride to the Island was amazing. 1 hour drive from Pondicherry, but worth the visit. The Beach was very clean for now, but could see a lot of garbage being dumbed on the banks which is sad, and slowly this place too will look dirty and with full of plastic bottles.

A good getaway, 90 kms from Chennai, on East Coast Road. One can reach the TTDC Raindrop Boathouse on ECR by road; a 2 hour drive from the city, through slow moving traffic. From the boathouse, 8-seater boats will take one to the beach and will take about 20 minutes. Speedboats will take lesser time. The boat ride is pleasant and a good experience away from the bustling city crowds. One can buy refreshments or meals at the TTDC canteen while you wait for the boat to take you to a landing area.

A good place to spend time with your friends and family.. One thing is they have increased price of all the rides from what is showing on their website. We were a team of 12 ppl it cost around 6k for 2 boats.. Where it will take us to a beach island we can spend some time. No water or Food available in Island advise you to kindly order the food at the Canteen or Carry your own food to the island and do not forget to carry water bottles with you.

Really enjoyable... The boat ride was fantastic... Our boat an Velu Anna took special care.. The beach was extremely clean. We enjoyed the sea breeze and the nice shade... Better to take food and water to the beach so that you can spend some quality time If you reach the boat house early, you will get parking, else u need to park on ECR

Nice experience. I chose speed boat for 3 of us and they dropped us in the tiny land space sorrounded by water on 3 sides for about 20 mins. We relaxed and had our foot wet on the waves.. to and fro speed boat ride for mins was thrilling with way the drive skidded and took rounds.. must try.. They also charge double the ticket approx 2300 for the speed boat to drop in the so called island spot for 2 hours and will pick back once we are done. Consider choosing this if you can pack a nice meal/snacks..

A good place for a weekend adventure. Nice ambience, best cool place. For a boating and in water experience it's the best place. I will definitely refer this place for all the pondicherry visitors. The washroom is also very neat and tidy. Overall we liked the place.

Best boat experience I had near Chennai, the boat ride is almost 40 mins up and down, they I'll leave you at a beach for 30 min or 2 hours depending upon the package and you can also see the river and beach meeting point. It was a very good experience and the staff were friendly too

Had a lovely weekend at rain drop boat house.mudhaliar kuppam...it's 2300 for speed boat.They also provide foodwith extra pay.the crowd wasn't much ... enjoyed our of city experience...kids will enjoy pls carry some beach toys...neatly maintained restroom...

If u going in a group it's a best place for one day leisure....no toilet facilities in the beach area..so be prepare before boat ride.... otherwise it's a wonderful place

A very good one day destination from Chennai. Go with your friends and family for a boating experience and ECR drive. But pls NOTE- The depth of the water is very low at some place. Me and my friend booked the cycle boat (blue colour with big wheels like propellor) so after paddling for a few metres we were stuck in mud and wasn’t able to come out of it. There is no proper marking where the depth is too low. We got tired of paddling and trying to take our boat outside the mud. The rescue arrived very late.

I went to this spot on September 2023. Two Wheeler parking 10rs Mobile phone 10rs is mandatorily being added to our bill and Life jacket will be provided after billing. Go for 2 seater CYCLE Boat.. It will be really fun and you will definitely enjoy.Only you two people will pedal it. No rower will be coming along with you like other boats. Prices are little bit expensive as you can see it below and It is nearly 50kms from Pondicherry.. Island stay for 3 hours is also available.Single kayaking is also available. Tea, coffee, snacks, cool drinks are available at little aggressive price.Staffs are gentle. Huge parking space is available. I love mamallapuram board will be there where you can take pics..

Good outing for min 2-3 hrs...the time take to reach the place from Chennai is about 2 hrs to 2.5 hrs ..the boat ride to the island beach is very good. The boats are well maintained and also the office provides life jackets..beach is neat and clean and good place to take lovely pictures...overall good experience.

Place is well and cleanly maintained. Rates are reasonable. If you come hear, try speed boat which will take you to the island. If you want to refresh yourself, do it before getting in to boat, coz there is nothing at the island (just few huts to sit and a long way to walk)

Decent place to visit once. Facilities could have been better, the island has wide umbrella/roofs to rest but other than there isn't much. The short boat ride to the island is the highlight and the water on the beach is clean. You can find a peaceful view and solitude if the weather cooperates

A lovely place to spend a day away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The food is good. Fish curry and fry is a must try at the restaurant. The beach Island is a must visit. The boat ride from the boathouse to the island is an experience. Make sure to watch the water, you ll get a feeling of raindrops hitting the water all around, a peculiar illusion created by sunlight on the water of Buckingham canal. Can spend a day watching the sea, walking on the sands...there are shacks with benches on the sandy island. The staff are good, helpful.

Really a good place to visit and experience boating and similar water sport activities. Kayaking can also be experienced in this place, which is not much available in Chennai except one or two private companies. This place has 8 single kayaks, 5 double kayaks, and then speed boats, family boats, water scooter etc. They provide good quality life jackets for everyone and for every activity listed above. They have parking space for about 10 cars and also have a cafeteria. Also, there's shower, dress changing rooms, and restrooms for both gents and ladies. Ticket is priced based on the amount of time you want to ride any boats. Kayaking is priced at 350/hr per person for single kayak and 750/hr for double kayaks. We went for kayaking in their lake. Lake is too long and u can't reach the end and come back to the starting point within an hour. And there won't be any instructor riding with you if you say you are experienced. And there won't be any instructor or watcher along the lake too. Lake is not so deep.... some places (2ft - 5ft mostly) and at some places it will be 8ft deep. Overall a good place to spend your time with water based activities.

We went here on our return journey from Pondy and went with less expectations.. It was a weekday and so was desolated. They have a parking lot and on a busy day i think around 10-12 cars can be parked in the lot they have. They have restrooms which are well maintained. A little soap or handwash near the wash basins would be very helpful. The boat rides themselves seem to be very nominal. We took the 3 seater motor boat to the beach Island. We were given 20 minutes time to spend on the beach and take photos. It's a very private area and can only be reached by boat . On the day we visited only one other family was there and they were celebrating their kid's birthday. It was certainly a lot of fun for kids and adults alike ! Must visit. In a way it's much better than Muttukaadu!

The boating and island experience were good but the issues between the management and the boat drivers due to food management caused a delay due to the driver's temporary strike. This issue has to be addressed

Entrance is after the bridge, so caution has to be taken while entering the spot. Parking lot is available. Food can be ordered and delivered at island. Food is overall good and fish curry was tasty. Stay in islands for 2 hours and hut are under construction. Over all its different experience. Tips are expected

Nice place for Kayaking. If you are in a team you can book a trip to a small island near the sea. Carry a new set of clothes, as you are going to get wet for sure.

Very nice place for a day trip. Approx 1.5 hrs from tambaram right on the ECR . Place is maintained fantastically by TTDC. Toilet is clean fir Indian standards, surprisingly there was soap in hand wash. Do try their refreshments section it was good. Multiple boat ride options with a 30 min stop in the nearby island. All riders are provided with life jacket. Parking is ample. Water is very clean. We happen to meet some local fisherman’s and got an excellent fresh catch of small fish like nethili. Crowd here is average as many seems to get caught in muttukadu itself. But this is worth a trip

Which is located in ECR near ellaiyamman koil. Exact location is muttukkadu. It's management of state government and can ride your boat in backwater and the location looks like island. People are enjoying this site. Because it's very peaceful and pollution less. Good place to spend time with your family.

I'm a regular visitor to this place. I usually take island waiting option to spend some time in tides. It's a calm and clean beach with huts for rest. You don't need to pay anything there as it includes in ticket. Far better than muttukadu.

Must take the ride to the huts similar to Paradise beach in Pondy... Not many people know about that... Friendly staff and food was really good

In Mudalayarkuppam you can choose to ride a family boat get dropped in a island in a beautiful secluded beach . Worth every penny and a must try weekend junket enjoying the 25+ km drive in ecr is another enticing factor !

Well maintained with staff who respond. Best TN tourism boathouse. There is nothing much to do in the beach though. Most Chairs seemed to be broken, good for a family to spend sometime at the beach.

Great boating spot with good backwaters near to Chennai and Pondicherry. Riding the row boat (without kids is advisable) is really adventurous than riding on the motor boat.

Went to just have some snacks. They had a list of items displayed. But nothing available except bajji and tea. Disappointed.

800 Rs for a motor boat - 6 seater, this includes car parking / camera charge / Boat charge / charge for boat man. On top of this 100rs bribe for boat man, in evitable. But fun for kids, during monsoon (Nov/Dec), its nice and cold and because of flow in the river it doesn't stink. If you pay 300 rs bribe he'll take you for a longer ride. Life jacket provided for all. Entry and exit is kind of tricky, lot of chance for accident, be careful when you drive in and out.

I went for a motorbike ride, and reached this place. Very serene, not many folks there at 7 am. Boat rides seem to be famous. Tea was great. We might try some good next time around.
