Was there just for the food. All fingers in Srinagar pointed us to this hotel when we asked about the best way to experience authentic Kashmiri wazwan. And indeed they were right! The aroma, colour and flavours were out of this world! The food was served in a heavily carved metal plate that made the experience very royal. The alfresco-style courtyard seats were comfortable and the staff were very polite. And, the icing on the cake, there is a bakery just downstairs (separate review)!

Ahdoos being one of the best hotel amongst all that we have stayed in kashmir, Warm and cozy rooms having all the basic amenities. Cons: 1. Check-in time is 2pm (if you're reaching early you need to wait until 1-2pm) 2. Food is a bit expensive.

I stayed at Hotel Ahdoos for three nights during my visit to Srinagar. The hotel is conveniently located near the City Mall and the road that leads to the famous Laal Chowk. The hotel is also famous for its restaurant called the Ahdoos Restaurant, which has been serving delicious Kashmiri cuisine for over a century. However, I was disappointed with the quality of the rooms and the service. I booked a room on the second floor for one night, which turned out to be old and shabby. The furniture was worn out, the bathroom was dirty, and the bed was uncomfortable. The first floor rooms looked better(see attached pics), as they were renovated recently, but they were also more expensive. I wish the hotel had mentioned this difference on their website. The worst part was the noise level in the hotel. The lobby and the walkway on both the floors were constantly noisy with people talking loudly, children running around, and doors slamming. The hotel staff did not care to tell anyone to be quiet or respect other guests. It was very hard to sleep or relax in such an environment. Another thing that annoyed me was the early closing time of the kitchen for in-room dining. The kitchen closed at 9:30 pm, which was too early for me. I had to order food from outside or go to the restaurant downstairs, which was always crowded and noisy. Overall, I would not recommend Hotel Ahdoos to anyone looking for a comfortable and peaceful stay in Srinagar. The only good thing about it is its location and its restaurant, but that is not enough to make up for its poor rooms and service.

One of the best properties to stay in Srinagar, with top notch services and amenities available. Just be informed that all the rooms are only double bed variants to accommodate 2 people only. So even if you book a 2+1 room type online it won’t be a proper stable bed with heated lining etc, but a folding bed with mattress arranged for you separately. I’d have given a 5 star otherwise. No issues at all.

Nice hotel. Rooms were good in size. Location is good as it is situated in the market so you get everything at walkable distance. Overall we had a comfortable stay at this hotel. Suggestions for improvements: Breakfast menu remains same with very few options. We stayed for 4 days and had to go with same breakfast everyday. Hotel should consider changing menu everyday. Staff doesn't write down while taking orders and end up serving wrong order. We faced this issue with almost every meal we had at the hotel.

Was the best hotel in our kashmir trip . Spacious rooms, good service and nice bathrooms. Food is alright as well , but i guess is best for non veg people as veg options are comparatively lesser. Breakfast is costly so try outside.

World class atmosphere. Rooms are great, staff is great, facilities are great. Breakfast was served a little late, might be a one time problem. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. Just beware of the fans, the height is too low.

Nice clean restaurant with a good vibe. The food is great too. Special mention for the amazing Phirnee which was just brilliant. We specially went there twice only to have it. The taste is consistently nice. Hope they maintain the same.

Pros: - Location: It's in the centre of the market. Enjoy street market on Sundays! - Room: Modern infrastructure and facilities. Proper heating system. Good calming view. Cozy. - Hospitality: Staff is very courteous. - Food: Restaurant a la carte was pretty good(a bit on medium expensive end). Must visit their cafe Creme and tryout walnut brownie. Cons: - Room: Washroom had unpleasant smell. Summary: - Recommended Tips: - On Sundays, main market is closed but a huge local street market is up for affordable shopping!

One of the best hotel in Srinagar..Better then few well known 4 star and 5 star hotels. Hospitality of entire staff was very warm and kind. Location is in the center of the city and well connected. Room with lake view is amazing. Must recommended .

Right in the center of the busy chowk, very spacious rooms. The staff is very responsive and the service is lighting fast. The food is delicious and very warm. If you are arriving at busy hours then we can't even get the vehicle inside the place. We have haul the luggage in ourselves. They need to manage parking. The very last room while is near is to service stair I would say avoid that room because the stair case is very dirty and the whole place is not cleaned properly.

Old but Refurbished Hotel. The Restaurant and the Bakery is awesome. Infrastructure, Water-pressue in the shower is very good. They can further improve by having some amenities for Senior Citizens & Physically challenged travellers, by having, shower-stool, Bucket, Mug, etc. Overall a good hotel, with wonderful people (some of whom I see since decades) in all departments.

Comfortable stay. This is a 3 star property. Hotel is pretty small so, has limited rooms which gets occupied quickly. Lifts are there but, you need to go 5-6 steps to reach the lift. And, few steps down stairs to reach the lift which, might be hessel for elderly or someone on wheelchair. Reception staff was not bad. Rooms were good and spacious. Clean rooms so, house keeping did a nice job. Bathrooms were clean but, needs some renovation as, some tiles around shower area were broken which is unsafe for child to access washroom alone. Small room heater and bed heater was there. Though, we didnt need it as we were there in April and, it was a pleasent climate. No ACs in case you are going there in hot climate. Limited option for breakfast which is a made to order menu. Though, food tasted very good. Food quality and taste at Ahdoos is very good. Staff at breakfast time could be little more attentive and courteous. Their cafe has some super desserts. Their wazwan was good. Location is superb. Hyper store right in front of hotel. Sunday bazzar starts in front. Walking distance to famous shopping market. We reccomend this property if you are in Srinagar.

Very costly hotel but the food is worth it. We had the best shahi chicken ever. We ordered wazwan as well but it was average. Location is just beside mughal darbar restraunt. It has rooms as well but it was full when we tried to book. Would suggest prebooking if you are looking for a stay. Staffs are extremely professional but at the end they shamelessly ask for more tips which was surprising.

For the price you are paying, the hotel is totally worth it. Rooms are spacious. Staff is nice. Proper cleanliness is maintained. Location is in the centre of Srinagar. Their restaurant and bakery is quite renowned in the Srinagar. Would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.

The place is Nice, centrally located with market near by. The Hotel has a very good restaurant and a bakery within the premise and also there are lot of other resturants and eater in the surroundings. A prominent place Chai Jaai ( Tea Room) is also very close to the Hotel. Overall a very good and comfortable stay.

Excellent food. Cozy rooms. Helpful service. In-house bakery and coffee shop. Good shops and restaurants around. The Sunday roadside market is also on the same road. Parking is an issue.

The best part of this hotel is the Ahdoos restaurant which is almost a 100 year old iconic place. The best mutton, its taste is permanently engraved in my memories of Srinagar. Apart from that, its a very convenient and comfortable property. Right into middle of the market. All major attractions are nearby. They have good parking space given that its in market. The staff is good. Choose upper floor rooms they are better. Out of our two rooms, one room was facing a small lake, that was very good. One room faced the main road, the nusiance of various kitchen chimneys and Ac outer and the smell of that was not very pleasant. Either choose air conditioned rooms to keep windows close. Comfort wise, the rooms were simply great. Surely would prefer it again in Srinagar.

Perfect location in the city, relatively new rooms which are spacious and well maintained. The restaurant Ala carte is impressive too. However, expect it to be a bit noisy during peak hours due to vehicle traffic from adjacent street.

It was a delight for us. We are Jain & pure vegetarian. We were desperately looking for veg kashmir food & then we found this place. The food was awesome... we loved every Kashmir delicacy like Nadru Yakhni, Saag, Dum Aloo and there was one apple sabzi... it was awesome. Their staff is very proficient & the ambience is very good. Strongly recommended for Veg Kashmir food.

Rooms are okay but service is very poor and pathetic there is no buffet breakfast they have a limited list of 6-7 items which includes curd and pickle as 6th and 7th item so you have only 2-3 options. Attitude is really bad complete mismanagement staff was cleaning restaurant/ tables and floor during peak breakfast hour. It took 50 min to order breakfast no body came for order everyone was cleaning restaurant.
