Kathi Darwaza, the main entrance to the Fort premise. The antique and stupendous wall and the reminiscents of artistic and mega builders are visible from every nook and corner of the medieval architecture. There is a famous Badam Wari Park- a tourist destinations, well maintained and well crafted full of rush during summers. On the eastern side of the park the view of the Nigeen Lake is magnificent and charming. If you are a local then visit the park with your family. For foreigners no such restrictions. From the park the magnanimous sight of the fort is jaw-dropping. The natural surrounding of the fort is mesmerizing. Unfortunately, the fort is occupied by the security forces. Any history lover will get painstakings from such a horrific mauling of the State's History and Historic gigantic structure. You can move in a full circle around the Hari Parbat, the hillock on which the Fort has been erected. At every dimension you will be amazed to have a magnificent look of the fort.

It is a big gate made by Mughals and entrance to hill lock of Sufi Saint of Kashmir Sultan ul Arifeen locally known to people as Peer Mukdoom sahib, the tomb is situated at the hill lock and people offer there obeisance and pray in Mosque adjacent to it. It has also track to the hari Parbat fort and inside it is temple which is opened on specific periods. One can have a breathtaking view from the hill lock of down town area or old town of the srinagar city.It has been connected with the chair lift from Rainawari to the hill lock, other wise one has to climb through long stair cases of more than 100 steps. It is place of serenity and calmness .

Kathi Darwaza is one of the two gates of the Hari Parbat Fort or the Mughal Fort, which is situated near the Dal Lake. The second gate is known as Sangin Darwaza and Kathi Darwaza is the main entrance to the fort. It has a domed chamber in the centre along with two recesses on either side. Visitors can also see few Persian commemorative inscriptions on the walls and ceilings of this gate. All these inscriptions are related to the Persian beliefs and culture that was practised by the Mughal rulers.

Hari Parbat is a hill overlooking Srinagar, the largest city and summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. It is the site of famous Sharika Devi temple dedicated to goddess Jagadamba Sharika Bhagwati who is regarded as the presiding deity (`isht`-Devi) of Srinagar city. Hari Parbat also has other notable places of worship.

Kathi Darwaza is the main entrance gate to the Hari Parbat Fort, which majestically stands atop a hill, overlooking Srinagar. It is a fine specimen of the splendid Mughal architecture that evolved during the reign of the influential Mughal Empire. A domed chamber flanked by two bays is present at the centre of this imposing gateway. The ceiling and walls of this grand entrance are adorned with Persian inscriptions, which provide an insight into the Persian traditions followed by Mughals. This stone gateway, directly north of the Chetipacha Gurdwara, is part of one of the last remnant sections of Srinagar's late 16th-century walls, originally built by Akbar.
