Stay here if you want only Zostel vibes, but if you are looking for comfortable and peaceful stay, pls look for better alternatives. There were more power fluctuations, water heater, hot water dispenser and room heater was not working 30% of the time. There is no restroom in 205 room , we had to use common restroom, which was occupied that the time we intended to use. The smaller room heater was not sufficient enough to cool the room. It was a portable room heater, we couldn't sleep peacefully in the night due to cold temperature. It was hard to climb to the upper bed, because of poor ergonomics. There was no handle / grip / support to safely climb to the upper bed. I lost my Jacket in the reception and asked for support guys, they said they had not found anything. Also when asked them to check the CCTV footage, they said CCTV was not working on that day. I sincerely accept that, it was my mistake being careless and missing my property. But if the CCTV doesn't work, it gives a lack of confidence and safety for the guests. The food provided in the canteen was over priced and tastes average. Food variety is also less. A lock has to be provided to all the guest to keep their luggage safely.

Zostel Srinagar is beautiful and the stay was pleasant. The staff is good and helpful. They provide shared cab service for going to the market. You can enjoy the scenery from the terrace and chill in the lawn area. The food is good and cleanliness is taken care of! Must stay if you're travelling to Srinagar.

Best place to stay in Srinagar for Solo and Group travellers. Vibe of the Zostel is excellent. You get to meet people from entire India and for Solo travellers you can join with others Zostel mates to explore places around Srinagar(To save Travel/cab charges). Rooms and Hospitality service make you feel very comfortable. Staff will become your friends and they will help you in every possible manner. Food quality is food good in Zostel. View from Zostel Terrace is breathtaking. Make sure to stay in Zostel for memorable experience.

Home! <3 I have had one of the best experiences here. The ambience is great. The common area is simply amazing. The view from the property is really really beautiful. The management is very supportive and they make you feel home. The food is also very yummy. The centralised heating system is the best to make you feel warm and cozy. I would love to come back here during summers.

Stayed there for over a week. It was overall a pleasant stay, with great view of Dal Lake from the terrace. The private room we got was spacious and clean, with a beautiful view of the valley. Food availablity was very limited, which can be improved as other locations of Zostel have a lot of decent options. Also there is only one water dispenser on the ground floor which serves to all the guests. Staff is courteous and well mannered. Also, it's not a good option for travelers with family, or kids.

The location is near Nishat garden. Dorms are really good compared to the private rooms. Private rooms need proper maintenance. Room service is good. Food options are limited. Staffs have very limited knowledge about the place and transport. They can help you with basic amenities. Also you can get a sim that would work there. Location is nice. View from terrace is good. I really liked the executive dorm compared to the rest. Recommended for solo travellers and not families.

Located near Nishat Garden and Dal lake.. beautiful and clean place to stay. Stayed in a room for 2 nights, they provided electric kettle, towels, heater, tea/coffee making kit, biotique body wash, lotion and shampoo. Food was good. Most dishes were tasty.. some needed improvement. Some activities were conducted to make everyone entertained. Staff was good and helpful. The problems I had faced was that there was no ventilation in bathroom/toilet area so it had a foul smell and there was too much electricity cut out. But still there was no total black out. Overall very good experience

Stayed here for 2 days, and my regret is that I should have chosen more days to stay here. I travelled solo in Feb, and for once did not feel bored or unsafe. The staff here is also friendly. Shabbir was great to talk to giving all info about what all places to visit and Rameez managed kitchen and food quite well. The evenings are fun as you get to meet other people and play games with them. Overall an amazing place with great location (10 min distance from Dal lake).

It was a nice experience at Zostel, Srinagar. We were a couple and booked a single room rather than a dorm. The room.was clean and hygienic. The food was decent/average. The garden is really clean. But the rules say 'no smoking' but you see the buds/ash trays. Food: we had pakoda and it was good. Dal and rice wasn't that great and don't expect too much from.the kitchen. Overall good for travellers who just need a place to spend a night and go places during the day.

I'll be very honest the rooms are pretty spacious and washroom is well maintained. Caretaker and manager was very friendly and treated us like their family. Property was beautiful. Each room had a locker for every bed. The garden area was spacious and one could play badminton, football and sing/dance /vibe with everyone staying there. The terrace was pretty spacious and beautiful built one could enjoy the beauty of dal lake from there. There was also a common room where everyone would gather and interact with each other build networks and vibe. I made new friends! Food was exceptionally great! All in one it was an amazing experience.

The only problem about this zostel is electricity. If no electricity, then no hot water. One private room didn't have washroom ventilation. That ventilation was in our room. And through room, we have some table fan directing it to window going out of room. Location is good. Common area is good. Limited kitchen menu, but worth a taste.

Very good experience at Srinagar Zostel. The place has good parking space. Located at a very prime location which is 100 meters from Dal lake. Premise is very well maintained and one of the best zostel i have so far experienced. Clean bed and bathroom and floor in Dorms. Mineral water available at all floors. The view from terrace is amazing, especially the sunset.

The Zostel in Srinagar is worth staying at. I stayed for a day in a dormitory and I would recommend you to stay there if you are traveling solo to the Kashmir valley. Its cleanliness is noteworthy. The Zostel is near the famous Dal lake and the Nishat Garden on the way to another famous garden, the Shalimar garden. So staying at this property is a very good decision.

I've been to a lot of hostels across the nation, but Zostel Srinagar was the best experience so far. I had the pleasure of meeting several incredible folks that enhanced my stay. The facilities provided are not adequate. The room provided on ground floor had no privacy at all. People outside the room can hear you as there was a kitchen adjacent to the wall. Secondly the washroom had transparent curtains and anyone can invade the privacy. Also most importantly it was quite hot in Srinagar while we travelled in August 2022. there was a fan in the room but not the ceiling fan, which made it more hotter.

The location is a quite close to Dal lake but is tucked in a service ally right at the end. The room was very neat and clean. The overall concept of Zostel is nice and is definitely recommended for travellers, solo or couple. The service was decent and could be better. Not a lot of dinner options available though.

Can’t recommend enough, the place is great as a hostile and has everything you need. The people go out of there to ensure you have a great stay in Kashmir. Shabir went though my itinerary step by step and helped me navigate Kashmir without having to book a tour guide. He told me to call if I need any help and was incredibly helpful. I recommend to anyone to come here their first day in Kashmir to get helpful tips to navigate if they didn’t solidly a plan yet.

It was a great experience staying in Zostel Srinagar. We were here for 5 nights. The ambience room and other facilities were great. The best thing was the food provided in the mess. Mr Rameez, who handles the restaurant was the go to person for all our needs and he hosted us superbly. Overall a great experience here.

It is a great place available at affordable prices and we spend three days here without any major problems. Rooms are good and pretty well maintained. Restrooms are also hygienic. Food was really tasty. And the view from the terrace was also fantastic. Staff was really nice and helpful. Would definitely go again next time. All in all a pretty good experience here.

Place is little far from the city, but the property is nice . Cleanliness is well maintained, food is decent and the owner and staff are very friendly. Room heating could be improved atleast in winters but due to electricity issues you cannot expect much. Overall good place to find travellers, make friends and chill !

I have stayed here for 15 days, workcation mostly. The property is huge and rooms are spacious. I had the best time in Zostel Srinagar. This is my first time staying in Zostel. Zostel is located behind Mughal Nishat gardens. It's at the end of the Boulevard lane and the entire structure is beautiful with well laid out rooms. There is a nice lawn with several seating arrangement. Place is well light at night. I stayed in the shared dormitory which had 8 beds. The bedding was very soft with attached lamp and charging point for each bedding. There was a nice extended balcony attached to our dormitory with a nice sofa and great view. Zostel has a canteen running till 9.30pm but i didn't use it hence cannot comment on the food quality. Water filter ensured that there was free water. Solo auto charges are high if you want to explore srinagar. There are shared sumo rides near Nishat garden which one can explore to reach the junction of the Dal lake. Dal lake promenade is just 300 metres away. This place is a little far away from the main eating joints. If you prefer a calm and peaceful place away from the crowd, then this is an ideal place for you. Check in and check out staff were very cooperative and helpful.
