The place was decent or if I can be a little honest was old. But the guards of the boathouse were friendly and we spent a very good time with them. They are keen to share their experiences, stories with you if you're likely to listen and willing to spend some time with them. Food was good and homely with limited options. They will try to make things comfortable as much as possible but sometimes the weather or the services under your taken package might come along your way, unless you are willing to pay extra cash for it. And not to forget, amazing view from the boathouse front balcony, you just won't feel like leaving that place and that view for hours.

Very rude and harsh staff. We didn't feel welcome at all. We felt like refugees staying for free. Very bad bed also. Breakfast was bread and omelet. All of us got back ache. I do not recommend. The only good thing was the dinner they served was delicious.

Don't ever go to this Houseboat..I repeat Just don't! First of all staff was very rude and don't go for their YouTube videos which they made for promotion... 1) we paid 8800 for three person for 2 nights with complimentary breakfast..they just gave bread and omlet as breakfast and everything is chargeable except that....even for water bottle of 20 rupees u have to pay 30/- 2) There was no room heater or blower as promised and no electric blanket at all. 3) There was only one charging socket at the room..other sockets are only for blanket..u cannot fit ur charging plugs in those...yes guys u heard it right only one charging socket for three people 4) Bathroom was horrible...u can not even put a single drop of water as per their policy.. everything u have to do in their dirty bathtub 5) Although they promised sikhara rides to and from their houseboat to ghat is free they charged us 100 rupees for each ride. 6) And funny thing is that u cannot see the owner..he comes everyday at noon like when no tourist is there and leave after 1 hour...only u can talk to their manager who is very very rude.

Have never been to other boats ever so don't know what to expect. It was very chilly as it's December. Heating system was not really working but staff was nice and friendly. Food was like home made which was much needed as we were on vacation for quite long.

Good location deep inside the dal lake. Good food and comfortable room. Since it's a houseboat hot water facility is little more managed and times so you should aks and understand it's availability. You should get the shikara ride included to and fro from ghat 9 and a free 1 hr Shikara ride. We took and additional 1 hr ride for 700 bucks and did some shopping in Meena Bazar. People here are friendly, warm and inviting.

Ashraf has been an amazing and courteous host. The food are good. The room is comfortable and with the help of the electric blanket and in-room traditional heater, it is cozy and warm. Will come again probably in warmer weather.

We had Ashraf as our caretaker here in the boathouse. He made sure that we are all comfortable. The food is good. The room is nice and comfortable. We went here in december and the weather is very cold, however the bed has a good heater to keep you warm. Overall we are satisfied πŸ‘πŸ»

Thats the gem place of the entire dal lake section. Our stay was perfect , neat and clean rooms properly insulated . Meals were fantastic being vegetarian they served delicious dishes out of the menu .luckily met with the owner as well. He was such a passionate person in his field he helped us for planning our trip after house boat stay. He guided well. Staff was gentle In short 5 stars are not enough for them they deserve 10 stars .

Overall experience is good. The boat house is old but attractive. Bathrooms can be better, need maintenance. Food is expensive compared to local restaurants. Lahasa restuarant is very good. They helped us hiring a taxi for site seeing. Service is good. But they allow sales people into the boat house, it's a Hassel. Do not buy anything in Dal lake, it's double price even if u negotiate. Don't buy "Kesar" in Dal lake. Don't forget to visit char chinar, It's beautiful place for good pics, visit early morning.

MMT booked this boat for our stay. Not a very pleasant experience. Rooms are small and linen was not clean. A bit claustrophobic to say least. There is no power supply most of the time , which makes the stay a bit scary. No kitchen in houseboat. Food was very basic. Only good point is the view.

The houseboats are old and not well maintained - rooms are well decorated but not as clean, and bathrooms were TERRIBLE (one of the toilets was shaking). The only reason the rating is this high is because of the view/experience and the basic homemade food. The houseboats are in a crowded area and the lake is dirty. If possible, look for a secluded location for a better experience (spend the extra money and the experience will be worth it). The keeper constantly kept asking for a tip (cash, phone, and other items) from every member in our group during our entire stay.

We visited in Summer. 1. Invertors don't support fans 2. Houseboat is Not maintained at all 3. We waited for 30mins+ on the dinner table after being informed that dinner is at 8:30pm 4. No ventilation in the rooms 5. Frequent power cuts will spoil your complete stay. 6. Mosquitoes will not spare you. We were lucky the place was not stinking. Few tourists stated that their houseboat was stinking

Rooms are alright. Comfortable for one or a couple of nights stay. They don't exactly resemble the pictures but a worn out version of the same, which is alright if rustic and woody is what you are looking for. The bathroom amenities are basic but that is the best one can do on a house boat. We visited in August. It was hot in Srinagar then. The rooms tend to get very stuffy during the day but cool done considerably at night. For someone who cannot tolerate the heat, you have an option of asking for AC services at extra cost. But for most, it won't be necessary. Apart from breakfast that you might book as part of the package, they do not have provisions for catering to meals at other times of the day. However, they are very helpful and arrange for Shikaras at no extra cost for conveyance to the shore. If you wish to go on a longer Shikara ride, you can enquire with them and they will help arrange for the same. Costs about 1000 for 1 hour ride on the Dal Lake. It is something you would want to experience while staying there.

Hopeless place. The rooms were stinking and so too the linen. Our tour operator booked this place and I don't know how much he paid. But this was our worst experience in Kashmir. Never stay in a houseboat without taking a look inside. The food was of poor quality. For breakfast only bread butter jam and omlette. These boats don't move. If the water and surroundings are bad then you have to stick wit it the whole night. They don't come any where near the Kerala houseboats.
