We visited in May. Good service. Local ambience. The hotel keeper was polite, helpfull and attentive to our needs. The only draw back is the floor boards creak when you walk. So expect the whole neighborhood to know when you move about.

I stayed here because it was part of my tour package for 6night and 7 days organised by Shafi. The trip was well organised 2 night Shelter heritage 2nights hiking and remaining2 nights boat house. It was wonderful trip for me as I traveled solo female. They helped me lot. The food was great and delicious because it was prepared by wonderful chef. The driver and guide which they provided us was wonderful. The trip was very affordable and great

Had an excellent experience staying there. The owner himself operates the property with his staffs and go beyond to make your stay comfortable. They also have an option of booking the whole travel package, in which they cover the different places which will be there on your bucket list for Kashmir visit.

Overpriced for the location but not bad. The price could get you fancy boats on Dal lake but the facilities were comparatively unclean here. Staff in our boat was nice but the owner of the group kept trying to sell us overpriced "tours" and his own stuff, and didn't genuinely answer any of our questions when we were planning our trip.

Shelter Houseboats was the best choice for stay in Srinagar River jehlum. It was so serene than the busy Dal lake. Owner and staff was very coperative and hospitable. Overall a best houseboat...

The best place to stay in Srinagar if you wanna stay a bit away from all the ruckus. It’s at located at the bank of Jhelum river and they’re over 50 years old. The exterior and interior of the boat is modeller with traditional Kashmiri architecture and very intricate wood works. The owner Shafi was very professional and met our needs were fulfilled. It’s very affordable and they provide heated blankets during cold nights as well. The onboard food tastes homely and is pretty delicious. One highlight that I’ve to mention is Zahid bhai, the caretaker of the boat. He is the sweetest person I’ve met from Kashmir. He took good care of all of us, cooked us maggi and his famous delicious namkeen chai and even took me out to show some off beat experiences in and around Kashmir. The stay wouldn’t be the same without this wonderful man.

Incredibly cosy plase, very central with great service. I stayed here in the end of october and had a great time. The dorms were of good price, the view from the boat is great overlooking the river and the bridge. I always love being on the water! They got me a cheap delicious breakfast and organized a great tuktuk tour of all the good spots with Bilal (which i also highly recommend). When coming back from the tour there was some problem with water pressure so they got me a room in a family members hotel for the same price as the dorm! Very luxurious hotel room and as a thanks they gave me the delicious dinner buffet for only 200. I couldn't recommend this place better! I know many of the reviews here in Srinagar seem fake, be careful! But this is an actual review and you could not go wrong with this place. Thanks for a great stay! /Julius the swedish guy

I had such a wonderful time at the Flostel! I was slightly nervous about traveling to Srinagar by self as a woman alone , but Shafi and his family made me feel right at home. It's a traditional houseboat right on the river near the city center but very quiet and peaceful. He kindly helped me organize trips suited to my interests and I had an awesome time with the welcoming and funny driver, Burhan. There's so much to do in Srinagar, I wish I could have stayed longer. Shafi and his family made my experience unforgettable and I highly recommend this stay to anyone interested in Srinagar!

A great place to stay with nice ambience. Worth money spent. The house boat owner Mr Shoaib/Mr Ajeej a very humble and soft spoken person having every knowledge of keeping his guests at their comfortable level. Would recommend for couple, solo and family trips. Rooms are well spacious as per houseboat standards.

Stayed here on my first night at Kashmir. Booked the houseboat but ended up staying at the hotel , which was a better deal! The hotel was really amazing, with amazing heating facilities , really good food and hospitable staffs ! Aijaz was really amazing in giving me all sort of infos from the time I planned the trip , throughout my visit and till I left kashmir! Always available to answer my questions and queries ! Highly recommended to stay with Shelter group !

I had amazing trip organises by shelter houseboat. I just booked 1 night and extend 8 days here and stayed in their hotel also. The host was wonderful trip. They suggest Sinthantop it was amazing places and even I suggest to other travellers

The boat is nice and located in a quiet area away from other houseboat. The owner and all the people there are really nice and very accommodating to our needs. And the food is also really great. I have been keep saying this, but the kashmiri tea they served are really nice! Great experience so far.

Best houseboat in Srinagar We used both properties of shelter group at Srinagar. It was amazing stay for us and for my friends. The food was great and houseboat is central located near to all chowk city. It has great vibe during night time. We had wonderful stay. Even we at Dal lake for 1night but lot of hassle of hawkers every time.

Really cozy, nice and comfortable houseboat. The staff is always around if you have ant questions (especially Tariq) and the boat is maintained amazingly well. Location also great, not too crowded. Plus: you don’t have to take a Shikara to get on the boat (unlike at Dal lake), which I found really convenient.

They arranged wonderful service from food to transportation and stay in hotel . It was worthy arrangements. We 4 people are very happy with proper arrangements
