Homely vibe Budget friendly Lovely ambience 4/5 A good option for Kashmiri touch when in Kashmir

Me and my friends stayed here for 3 nights. We had a wonderful time here. Location is also great where it is near Dal Lake gate 1. Mr Javed was such a great host and we really had a pleasant stay there. Rooms are pretty clean. 100% recommended to anyone thinking if stopping by Srinagar. Affordable pricing as well. Be sure to try out his Kashmiri Kehwa

John friends guest house was one of the highlights of our trip to India. The guest house itself is beautifully set amongst a stunning garden abundant with roses and other gorgeous flowers and the rooms are large, spacious and light. Jonah and his family couldn't have done more to make us feel at home. We shared tea with them in their living room, explored the Saturday morning market on their boat and came away with a new set of friends. I was really unwell during my stay in Srinagar and ended up in hospital. When I was admitted Jonah turned up and spent hours helping me to get the right medication, talking to the doctor's etc. He was simply amazing and went above and beyond to help us and make us feel welcome! I cannot recommend John friend's highly enough ~ you'll not only leave with some new friends but you'll feel instantly at home.

Supposed to stay 3 days but it ended up in 7. The family is so kind and the place really welcoming. Area is quiet and close to Dal Lake and Dal Gate. All shops and restaurants are walking distance. The tea they make is absolutely delicious !!! Thank you so much for this time.

What to say...John friend's is the place to be when in Srinagar! Close to the lake but away from the crowd... inside you will be pleased by a beautiful house sinked in a very cosy garden! John is very resourceful and all his family members are nice and friendly! Plus it's possible to rent a boat and go for a ride in the lake. If you are looking for a peaceful and cosy place in the noisy and dusty town of Srinagar, go to John Friend guesthouse. A little heaven, well located near the lake and low budget, you will find a welcoming home where Jonah and all his will take care of you. No doubt, if I come back in Srinagar, I definitely know where to go.

Such a warm, peaceful and welcoming stay with John, his son Suhail and the rest of the family. The room was really clean and comfortable and the shower was hot. A wonderful stay and I can't wait to visit again - thanks John!

John and his family will make you feel right at home! The guesthouse has a beautiful green garden with apple trees where you can relax and escape from the busy streets. The rooms are clean and spacious with a nice view on the surrounding gardens. We came back a couple of times and John greeted us like friends. Early morning you should rent one of his boats to paddle to the floating veggie market, it's amazing. He also has beautiful Pashmina shawls that you should check out! Thank you for the good time! Really clean rooms and bathrooms, which felt like a heaven after coming from Jammu ! There is a beautiful garden to sit and relax in, from there you are at Dal Gate District in 3 minutes walk. But most importantly, Johna. He is such a helpful and relaxed guy. He even went to the Post for me, to send some clothes I bought back to Germany ! Johns Friends Guest House is a real haven of Peace in Srinagar, no bad things to say about that place ^^

Great place to stay while in Srinagar. Rooms are spacious and clean. Quiet location very close to the lake, lovely garden to chill. Run by a friendly family that took such good care of me when I was sick. There's also yummy food available that I was invited to eat together with the family. Boat is available for rental. Would definitely stay again when coming to Srinagar.

The best place to stay for a great price in Srinagar. Great, tidy rooms and a relaxing space tucked away from the sounds and stress of the city. Me and a friend stayed here for a week in total and every day we felt more and more welcome. Jonah helped out with everything from tea to postage and travel advice. Really beautiful guest house. I am from Thailand i been there last month for one week room is neat and clean with free Wifi the food was delicious and they arrange everything like trekking , transportation so i recommended this place it is very near to Dal lake thank you so much for everything ...

This hotel is run by a family. All of them are very helpful.

Good service We stayed a couple of nights in Howrah guesthouse and liked in very much. The location is great and it had everything you need from a simple hotel. Sheikh Parvez is very much inclined to help with whatever you want to do or arrange. He arranged for us to go to the lake and camping in the mountains for a couple of days ...
