Had a delightful experience with Morningstar Group of Houseboats.They planned my Tour Very well for 7 Nights and 8 Days with affordable price. ALl the Hotels Booked during my Stay was Very Nice and the Food was really Good. All People during the Stay in Hotels where very Humble and Kind. My Recommendation is it is good to take their experience if it is 8 days Travel they would be knowing very well how many days to stay in each place instead we plan it. A Very Special Thanks to Bilal Brother who stayed with us during our Travel from Day 1 of Arrival till the Last Day of the Departure he guided us very well at each Place and also Best Photographer Took very Nice Photos of us.

The review is for Morning Star Houseboat. There are other houseboats with similar name like Young morning star and new morning star. Most of the negative reviews are for young and new morning star. My stay at MORNING STAR HOUSEBOAT was a very beautiful experience. I was thrilled to see how beautiful and large rooms are from inside. The owner and caretaker is very humble and helpful. He provided us with all facilities, good hot food. Wifi, water, electricity, fridge, kitchen all was available. Wifi speed is also very good. The beds were comfortable. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. We went to the shikara ride with him and it was again a great experience. My parents were completely happy and satisfied as well. People booking this should be careful with the names. The other houseboats with similar names are just next to this. So only go for "Morning Star". Not young or new morning star.

Horrible houseboat needs renovation immediately. Extremely dirty with layers of settled dust on all furnitures. Lacks proper hygiene. The food was below par, the caretaker doesn't care about the hospitality. Located in the worst possible location of Ghat no 13. The only thing good about the houseboat was the dal lake which is visible from all boats.

This property belongs to Morningstar only which is 4bed rooms houseboat it's a request check before visit where r u going check houseboat board check name then gave ur reviews plz don't ruin others bread Without knowing where your stay u can enter the boat without knowing which boat is this? but u can't make troubles for others Request plz watch out ur houseboat name

Room had no central heating and the care taker was extremely rude. We had taken two bottles of mineral water which costed Rs.60 and I gave him a note of Rs.100. The care taker ignored me when I asked for remaining Rs.40 and when I refused to give tip then he threw the money on my face.

It was a different experience staying overnight in a house boat. The stay was good except for the feeling of being afloat in a house boat and occasional creaking sounds whenever there was movement in the house boat. Varieties of food served were limited and could have been much better and more tasty. Place was clean and well maintained.

We were the family of 9 including senior citizen and kids. We stayed in the houseboat for 1 night. It had 3 room out of which only 1 room heater was working good, rest 2 rooms heater was non operational or was not working properly. It had hot water facility. Rooms were super clean and photogenic. We were asked to remove our shoes outside before entering the boat. But since it was not having central heater it was very difficult to stay in the dining area even for 10 min to have food. Food quality can be improved. Overall experience was good.

The place is really grandly decorated with chandeliers and embroidered wall hangings. The rooms and clean, the whole place is carpeted, and the bathrooms in some rooms are a little tacky, but it's not all that bad. Our shikari/ helper who took us around the lake and cooked food, was friendly, he knew how to speak English. The food was not good, kind of a let down, because everything else was near to perfect. The boat rides can be expensive, if you want to go shopping on the lake markets and all. The house just floats on water, it doesn't move. The lake is polluted and a icky green, so you cant swim . I would definitely come again, was a new experience.

Stay was great, the service was good. Complementary shikara ride takes you through the market only, so not very good. Everyone kept asking for tips.

The most horrible house boat, dirty and broken rooms, diarrhoea grade food. On top of that the cook has the audacity to ask for tip. Avoid unless you want to spoil ur trip with diarrhoea. As expected they have replied that there was no booking as they very well know how pathetic their services are. Must avoid this horrible disgusting house boat and staff

One the best places to stay , we stayed for 02 nights , food was good and location is also good , you will get a view of both open Lake and sankarchaya hills, highly recommended.

Comparatively big houseboats offered with good facilities. Food was good. Located in the worst and dirtiest area of Dal Lake, like all other houseboats. The vendors who came into the houseboat were invading our privacy without even bothering about it.

New upper house, this experience was the wrost experience of our life, horrible stay with disgusting food and they did not provide heater. We have asked for extra blanket but they did not provide that as well it was so disgusting

Worst Experience. Worst Smell inside the Boat. Worst Food. Most of us got ( including kids) food poison during the Stay. Not at all recommended.

Well maintained rooms with a professional care taker. All together had a beautiful stay at morning star.
