Nice place but please avoid. We were happy at first but the relaxing vibe soon went with the relentless sales pitches for their trekking tour and other travel packages. Intrusions in to our room after midnight and broken promises of car tours were also a downside of our stay. Please take your business elsewhere if you're planning on staying on a houseboat.

Brilliant experience with team lalarukh houseboats they have been provided most convenient stay for family . And houseboat itself seems a great history of British culture and wooden carving will be the best part of my experience. Neat and clean stay with friendly atmosphere.

The stay at Lala Rukh Houseboat was pure bliss - everything at the Houseboat is top notch, starting with the extremely attentive service and housekeeping to the decor of the houseboat- both the rooms and the common areas are extremely well done . In fact the service and decor here matches any five star chain you can think of . A word of praise for the food and restaurant staff , they are so welcoming and the food is so good that one ends up overeating each meal. The house boot is excellent in terms of location, Rooms and Services. Evening high tea is the highlight of the venue with local singers performing. For dinner we opted for Kashmir thalli and it was a over dose of local food 👌. All in all worth the money, away from the crowd.

Very nice house boats in Dal Lake to use as your base of exploration for the area. Nice vibe, friendly staff, and a great location; close to shore but far enough to not see it. The great mountain views make it a pleasure just to sit at the veranda and watch life at the lake go by. They can also book you activities in the area, such as day trips or multiple day mountain trekking, which I did. The insides of these house boats is lovely, with antique furniture and reasonably good beds, including one special with wood carvings. The service is excellent. So even just staying on the boat will give you a nice and relaxing day. Definitely recommended.

I can highly recommend the Lala Rukh houseboats. All rooms in the houseboats are clean, hygenic and nice. The family who runs the houseboats are always friendly. The food they provide is delicious. They also organize trips around, espescially to the himalayas (I really enjoyed the time with Jhon in the himalayas). All in all good value for the money. (From Germany)

comfort and peace What a wonderful place and hospitality. Location ideal, food great, level of 'being looked after' just right. Didn't feel crowded and plenty of space - able to sit in sun or shade any time of day. Perfect. Srinagar and surroundings fascinating, and didn't even get into the hills this trip! I was pleased I extended my stay from 2 to 4 nights.

It was the best experience I had. I stayed at lalarukh houseboat completely like in a heaven. Beautiful location, nice view, great interior, excellent services and awesome foods. This houseboat is a good value for money. Highly recommended.If I were to come back to this heaven on earth again, there will be no other place. I will for sure contact them again and requesting for Lalarukh houseboat and Mr Suhail.All and all, thank you for making my visit an unforgettable one!

Lalarukh house boats are a fantastic surprise. The houseboats are stunning, traditional and very beautiful, and take you back to another age, but with all modern comforts. The food is great, as is the view of the shikaras on the lake and the mountains from the verandah. The peacefulness is compounded by that lack of mechanical background noise, replaced instead with the sounds of water and people enjoying their time. Very romantic. The most wonderful part of this experience though, is the warmth and genuine hospitality from the staff and family. They do all they can to be helpful and make you feel very much at home, while catering to all your needs. I leave with warm memories of my time here. They help you discover Kashmir, my highlight being a 4 day trek, camping in the Himalayas. Breathtaking! Kashmir is a well kept secret, with Lalarukh the perfect way to discover it

Wonderful experience. Suhail & his team are very homely and made as feel as we have visited our families.. Communication was good from long before we started our trip.. Arrangements for cabs Shikari boat ride all done seamlessly.. Overall a lovely stay in the houseboat.. Will surely come again…

The best decision I took by booking this houseboat as a place for my shelter. We stayed here for 3 nights, and at the time of check-out I was literally cursing my decision to prebook a 2-night Non-refundable stay in Pahalgam, I wanted to stay here as long as I was in Kashmir, anyways next time, for sure I am going to consider this place for my entire stay in Kashmir. Coming back to hospitality, we literally felt the comfort of our home, Abdul uncle was so kind and helpful, and I am literally missing all those discussions we use to have in the evening. Khurshid bhai also took great care of us. Suhel bhai the owner of the houseboat is a gem of a person, I am glad that I came across a group of such nice people. If you are a couple or a family, friends, or a solo guy, I am sure you are going to enjoy the hospitality. You will get good cozy rooms at a good price point as well. Overall awesome experience.
