Shiva is worshiped as Vaidyanathar and his consort Parvati as Sivakami. The temple is the largest Shiva temple in the district. Shiva is worshipped as Vaidyanathar or the "God of healing". The holy water of the Siddhamirtham tank in the temple complex is believed to have curative effects, and a holy dip here is believed to cure all diseases. The temple was built by Thirumalai Nayak during the 16th century. The temple has artistic sculptures representative of Nayak art.

Best Shiva temple in the city. Ull definitely felt into a divine experience. On 01.01.2023 I visited this temple,I really felt bad about this temple.the maintenance is going on bt cleanliness and hygiene are very bad. The drainage system also badly maintained. It is one of the ancient temples in the city. We need to maintain this kind of temples.

Vaidyanathar Temple, Madavar Vilagam Srivilliputhur Vaidyanathar Mandir is located in Madavar Village near Srivilliputhur in Virudhunagar of Tamil Nadu. Paramashiva is worshipped as Vaidyanathar who can cure any disease. Parvathi Devi is Shivakami Amman here. Sthala Puranam says that, Once king Thirumalai Nayakar was suffering from severe stomach pain. Hearing about Vaidyanatha Swamy he arrived here & stayed for 48 days. He had food only after completing poojas in temple & was completely cured of disease. Temple tank is Siddhamirtham, which is believed to have Amrit. Taking a dip in this tank is said to relieve from all illness. Another story is about a pregnant lady who was a great Shiva Bhakt. She asked her mother to come to help her but her mother was unable to reach her. The lady herself started to walk to her mother's home. But on the way developed labour pain. She called out for Paramashiva who came as her mother and helped in delivering child. Thus this temple is also famous for pregnancy related issues. OM NAMAH SHIVAYA 🙏🙏🙏

This temple is filled with Good Vibes. Due to the popularity of Andal Temple most of the people don't know about this Temple. This Temple even more Older than Andal Temple Srivilliputhuthur, whichs around 2000s.

There are 2 pits (kulam) near this temple. Temple is situated rajapalayam main road. Temple timing is morning 5 AM to 12 PM and 4 PM to 8 PM.

This Shiva temple is at Srivilliputtur on the Srivilliputtur - Rajapalayam SH. Normally this temple opens at 6.15 a.m. But during the month of Margazhi ( Dec-Jan ) it opens as early as 4.30 a.m. There is sufficient parking space in front of the temple. There are two ponds near the temple. Both the tanks are brimming with water. The bond adjacent to the temple is not allowed for public. The another one is in front of the temple and people are allowed to take bath.

Separate sanctum for Shri Sivakami Amman. Major expanded construction of temple was by King Thirumalai Nayak in 17th century.

When I visited this temple, only very few people were there. It's maintained in a clean manner. This temple will make your mind relaxed,. Plus it's architecture will make us wonder, the efforts they have put to build this temple.
