Very friendly host. He was very excited to see students from Brock. They also had students discount. Great place to grab a coffee, meal, read or study.

The turkey brie sandwich was very solid. A nice hangout spot inside

Funky downtown coffee shop featuring an assortment of custom-made drinks and snacks. As a tea drinker, I found their London Fog to be the best I've ever had by far. The service was really friendly, and they have numerous loyal customers who stop by frequently. The whole back area was full of friends hanging out and chatting, people reading, and business people doing work. Clearly this is a "hub" for folks in downtown St. Catherines, and with lots of different options here, I always make sure to stop by whenever I'm in town.

I really enjoyed my time, Mahty just won another loyal customer. Great coffee, amazing team, suitable place to work and have a nice time. Can’t wait to try out all the menu. I would recommend it to all my friends. Thanks

Went a few days ago, great service, great pricing. Order the soya sesame bowl. Vegetarian, I'm not vegetarian but gave it a go. DELICIOUS. that's what reminded me to post the review. I want this again. The kimchi was phenomenal.

They have pretty good iced lattes and bagels! The cleanliness is questionable in this place but staff were nice and good study vibes

Really cool environment, friendly staff, good coffee, nice pastries, and free WiFi. It's bigger on the inside than it seems from the outside. The staff are super friendly from the moment you walk in, until the moment you step out. The coffee is pretty good and the cookies are awesome (especially the coffee toffee chocolate cookie). The only turn off was the look/cleanliness of the washrooms. It's a cool place to kick back and enjoy a cup of coffee.

Mahtay is not only one of my favourite spots, it’s my favourite spot. Friendly, inclusive atmosphere, great food, and local art. Mahtay is THE SPOT for any group to hang out and have an awesome time night or day. I HIGHLY recommend any of their baked goods, which pair perfectly with their fair trade coffee. 11/10!

Had a cold brew coffee it was good. Lots of seating. Large selection of hot and cold drinks, coffee, teas etc. Sells local beers & ciders. Didn't get a chance to see the food menu but saw people eating sandwiches and things. Hippy vibe, reminds me of backpacking/hostels. lots of students studying. Good spot for working from a laptop during the day. Wifi seemed good.

I came here because the reviews said I'd have a good time...I must have chosen a really bad day to show up though. I ordered a sandwich and a hot chocolate... got the hot chocolate... I had to reorder the sandwich, which is completely forgivable. The sandwich was so overloaded with lettuce that the lid of it fell off onto the floor as soon as I picked it up. (Maybe the plate would have saved it if it were a circumference larger than the sandwich or if it had a toothpick holding it together). We asked for a replacement top because, I should be able to lift it and carry it to my table without it falling apart... The girl behind the counter grunted and rolled her eyes at the request which was rude then ate food while we waited 10 or 15 minutes for her to hand us the toasted bagel. The spilt lettuce remained on the floor the entire time we were there. No one came to clean it up. I looked around and realized cleaning wasn't really a priority here. There were fruit flies everywhere, every table was covered in crumbs and used cups. The chairs were still pulled away from the tables long after people left and new people arrived, clearing the tables themselves while I'm watched the staff staring off into space. If I come back it would be to see the bands, not to experience the service.

My absolute favourite coffee spot in St. Catharines. An excellent variety of hot and iced drinks, including fabulous juices and kombucha. On the food side, I've only had the Kim-Cheese Bagel, but it was superb: a toasted bagel loaded with cheddar, field greens, and spicy house-made kimchi.

Nice atmosphere, great service, simply good coffee. My only complaint, the chairs at the windows, need to be a bit more leisurely, they are relatively worn, and somewhat in need of replacement. Other than that, a great coffee house, to look forward to on a Friday.

Really like the space so we go there whenever downtown. We had some exceptionally tasting breakfast here before (couple years), unfortunately that changed (different chef?) and so it's just ok nowadays. Still - great place to have coffee and chill

I was going to leave my bike out front and an employee came out and told me I could put it inside, it was great customer service.

Decent coffee and a reasonably cosy atmosphere. Good to see flat whites on the menu. However, the coffee mugs were really dirty and that was enough to ensure I won't be back.

Downtown St. Catharines has many great spots for coffee, and I love them all. But Mahtay is somewhere I could spend hours. It's a great spot for meetings. For hangouts. They often have great things happening in their community room. Their soup is always perfection and Graham makes the best chai latte I've ever had.

Cute and large cafe in downtown St Catherine’s. This is place serves food and drinks for everyone - coffee, tea, alcohol, and vegan items. There’s a bunch of board games and large tables to hang out at. The washrooms are the only downside. They are old, cold, and could use more modern facilities. My favourites bits were the organic waste bin and pasta stir sticks. Both great ways to reduce items going into our landfills.

Not sure if "hipster" is still a relevant term but sure does apply here. Great beer selection, super friendly staff. Great performance venue and very inclusive

Delicious food and lovely assortment of drinks. The seating area is cozy and ideal for meeting with friends or sitting alone. The staff are friendly and fun to chat with. Only downside is parking. It can be difficult to find a parking spot downtown and as someone who can't parallel park, I'm too wuss to go on weekends. However, this is a "me problem" and speaks only to my experience.

The menu is really fun and the options are fresh. The service is friendly and fast. The decoration and furniture is in rough shape which gives an impression of the place being dirty. I had a chai latte that was pretty tasteless, not hot and there was absolutely no spices in it. Based on previous reviews I was expecting a lot more excitement on the beverages than what I got.

I wish i could give them ZERO for the horrible customer service. We came at 5:30, which was 30 mins before closing, and she kept telling how she had to clean and close. Even though we told her that we will be sitting in, she gave us the tea in to-go containers while other people had regular coffee and tea mugs. I don’t know how this place has so many reviews, it definitely needs a change in staff. Probably paid ratings.

I was excited to try out this cafe fr their positive reviews. But me and my mom didn't Enjoy their espresso shots. It taste very bitter, acidity level was too high, and had a muggy colour. We had to threw it.

Great cuppa this afternoon. They were very accommodating especially since they were about to close. But didn't rush us.

The vibe here is super cool and the drinks are always made so well. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I wouldn't want to get a coffee or pastries anywhere else in downtown St Catharines

I had the iced latte and can really taste the beans rather than it being drowned out by milk. Great job! Tried the flat white, it was good, had a fruity hint to it. The iced mocha tastes exactly like an iced hot chocolate, it's not too sweet though, whcih is nice.

Super friendly staff and the best cold brew I’ve ever had! Definitely recommend, very cute place, lovely interior. Super affordable for a cafe as well!
