Most of the trails are excellent but the red trail has washed out in one section.

Great place to spend some time. It gets ridiculously busy on weekends and holidays so I avoid those times. Great to see turtles and nesting geese. People fish here but unless they stocked the pond it's really only just sunfish, don't see the point of fishing them up. Most if not all turtles in Ontario are endangered so let them be! The little hiking trails are extra steep, short and fun. Lots of families come here. Washrooms were closed due to covid.

Clear trails, with varying difficulty. We have been going here since our kids were in a stroller. There is a wide, accessible cement path that goes around the pond and several non-wheelchair-accessible paths through the woods. Very pretty, a fun place to explore.

This is such a beautiful place to go for a hike! It's basically right in Fonthill. There's a large pond that is stocked with trout and you are allowed to fish. The trail goes all the way around the pond and there are tertiary trails going off in various directions. As with most conservation area trails there is a cash donation box to help them maintain the trail for all of us to enjoy. Please be generous. We are so lucky to have these trails to enjoy. Today was a crisp sunny day and there were many families hiking. The trail is dog friendly. And we met a lot of friendly dogs!

I have live in St.Catharines my whole life and have never been here. What a cute trail and hiking area. It has a big pond that you can fish in, with benches around it and a floating dock. Its nicely tucked in and quiet. I found alot of mushrooms which is always fun to look at.

Want a quick hike without traveling far or not having to jump rocks or cliffs. This is the place for you. They have different hike paths that each have their own time. AND they call lead to the same pond.

Love the walk you can take here around a man made pond. It's really nice your kids can find turtles frogs birds geese ducks and deer all walking around at this park. I just live it. Remember to bring your camera on a sunny day, the pictures of your family will be irreplaceable!

Good hike and lovely colours of fall one can explore on a sunny day near pond. The trail is clearly marked and maintained which make whole experience more enjoyable.

Another superb conservation area operated by Niagara Parks. There is a large pond here for fishing - loads of bluegill sunfish. This is a great place for birding too. Watch for the visiting Green Heron. On the trails you may hear the Indigo Buntings and Hooded Warblers. Lots of other species too that are difficult to find elsewhere.

Great place to go out and take in nature. The area is always clean, paths are clear and safe to walk and you've got numerous options in terms of trails. Not to mention you can fish in their pond if you so choose.

Beautiful drive down to the conservation area. Same can be said for the grounds. Trails are built around a small body of water which is a hot fishing spot. There are three trails to explore each a little longer than the other. Consult the trail map prior to walking. Trails are all well kept and mostly flat with slight elevation changes. Make for a great walk through the forest. If you’re lucky you may even see some wildlife.

What a wonderful way to spend the day, it's so nice to see people out walking their dogs, hiking along the trail and parents out with their small children fishing in the pond. I found the park to be so peaceful and everyone was so extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend going to St John's conservation area, why not also pack a picnic lunch and stay for a few hours there are bathroom facilities on the premises.

I haven’t explored Saint Johns Conservation Area yet, but the surrounding views are breathtaking, especially during the Fall season. Nature’s beauty at its best!

Very nice trails, some challenging and others are easy for beginners. The large pond has fish, birds and turtles to see.

This not so hidden gem has largely retained its charm over the years. Despite the conservations area’s small size it boasts a wide variety of mature tree species. The paths are easily accessible from the parking lot and vary in their challenges but none will break more than a sweat if used accordingly. A pond provides a place to do some hobby fishing. No fees. Often quiet.

Nice spot to take the kids on a hike. The pond is definitely a feature. Parking seems ample. Washrooms are pretty rustic. Paths could be marked clearer. Only one tick on the dog staying on the path so that’s good these days. Good place to burn an hour and see the fall colours.

Wonderfully stocked lake. There are many winding paths through the woods for any level of hiker. The fishing is out of this world. Great place to go if you want to get your little ones into fishing. Lots of sunfish and trout to be caught. There is even a dock to help get out to the deeper water. Open 8-8 it's the place to be for all your outdoor adventure needs.

Super nice place to take children. Try your luck fishing, go for a hike on one of the trails or just relax on one of the shaded benches. It was not busy on the Saturday we were there however it can get quite popular on some days.

Awesome place to hike and get out in nature! We will be going back again soon. Perhaps when the weather gets better we will plan a picnic and make an afternoon of it.

Beautiful place to walk. 4 trails from easy to a more challenging up and down steeper parts of the escarpment. Lots of tree roots along the trails so not great for strollers or wheelchairs although there is a nice area off the main entrance with a trout pound that is level. If you like big old trees this is the place to see them.

It's always so nice visiting this area. Most people are considerate, friendly, and pleasantly chatty. I met a young man here last year that was interested in looking at all the different spider species he could find. The pond out back looks like something out of a fantasy novel. If you're able to get there, I highly recommend checking it out.

Great for a leisurely family walk around the pond. Stroller friendly for that section. If you are feeling more like a hike, there are various trails through the conservation area as well. Always worth going!

Great little place to bring kids and a dog. There is a path with stones that go around a pond and then there are off the beaten track trails to go on as well. Kids love to hunt for mushroom and toss pebbles in the pond. And there were 6 dogs at the park the day we went. Great little hiking area. Could easily spend an hour there.

Beautiful place to go for walking, hiking and fishing with family and friends. Lots of fish and turtles in the pond where everyone can enjoy and have fun especially the kids. We really love this place especially in the fall. You can enjoy too.

Great place for all ages, only downsides are of course inaccessibility for strollers and wheelchairs... Although this would be a great place for the whole family to enjoy! Mind your whereabouts though, it's a big place and it's not too difficult to get lost. It tends to be quite muddy with the occasional high hike, but the views are awesome. Would recommend 👍

Great hiking area with varied terrain for different abilities.

Amazing place that brings you back to nature. Lots of well kept trails around the park, some are a bit more challenging but there is also a wide smooth path around the pond that is suitable for strollers. Great place to bring the kids fishing, water is shallow so mainly smaller fish but your guaranteed to nibbles if you bring worms.

A great place for a simple hike. There are different trails that have different hiking difficulties, but nothing too extreme. The pond is a great place to watch wildlife, like geese, turtles, frogs and fish. The wooded areas are clean and quiet.

Nice walk, not very long. We visited it in winter, some days after a snow storm. The landscape was wonderful, but certainly it is a nice place to go no matter the season! Good for taking the kids.

Great area for hiking, trails were easy to follow and well maintained. Lots of cute doggos to enjoy the hike with. Even my cat had a good time!

Great place for a hike! Trails are marked according to how long each one will take. The pond usually has ducks and/or geese, and lots of frogs in the spring and summer...fun for kids of all ages. Fun family activity.
