    Lovely place to visit :)

Hard to rate this place. Great disc golf, nice park, but... Junkies and garbage everywhere and it seems the city does not care. More people sleeping on the ground or benches than garbage cans. Too many vagrants drying out their laundry on historical plaques. The river is most likely super polluted with a nice milky colour after it rains. They just spent a fortune cleaning and putting in beautiful steps and a pavillion. Unfortunately the stairs are filthy with needles and the pavillion is the permanent home for unsavory junkies. The pictures are not even close to the worst spots.

Just us and a few frisbee golfers in the park on Sunday. Beautiful day to walk the loop. There were lots of animal tracks, and ducks in the water.

The 18 hole frisbee golf course is a lot of fun. Lots of the holes have hills, trees, water, etc that make them tricky and challenging. Very nice park and area overall. Happy we stopped by to play.

I love going for long walks in this park. It is really beautiful and there is a community garden. I was okay with the homeless people living in the park. I am just mentioning it because there could be people who are uncomfortable with it.

Very nice green, sustainable idea for growing your own food.

I love this park. It has a fantastic disc golf course and giant loop path around a narrow canal that is beautifully picturesque. Wedding photos could easily be taken in the summer around the giant weeping willows. I think a second bridge in the centre of the trail could be a very positive but not essential addition. The people who use the park are generally very friendly as well and will give you a wave and say hello. But where did the totem poll go? I would love to see it back.

This place is incredible. Pictures will speak on my behalf. Unfortunately lots of plastic trash on the nature. Free parking free entry. Has two chemicals washroom, place for picnic. Trails for hiking and cycling. Not recommend for the elders is you want to check the falls you will have yo climb. Bring extra pair of socks because you will have high changes to step into the water. But totally worth. Ahh one more thing go early if you dont want to dispute space.

This place is very nice to spend some alone time or be with your family. You can sit down somewhere or take a long walk as it is a very long trail. However, you need to be careful as they put a sign that coyotes were spotted here and it just says don't feed them. Not to be scared, I have been there several times but never seen one. There are parking lots at the beginning of the trial.

Nice walk that will only improve when the construction on the Geneva St 406 exit is finished. Disc golf course is mapped out for a unique experience.

Fun course for a casual player. The holes are, for the most part, long and narrow with some frustrating obstacles that sometime seem needless. The club that maintains the holes do a great job and are very dedicated. It’s too bad it’s in such a seedy part of town. My friends and I have often come across needles, empty booze bottles and homeless people taking up residence in the bush. It’s a fun course none the less and it’s great for Niagara Region folk that don’t want to drive to Hamilton or pay at the course in Welland.

Me and my girlfriend took our dog for a walk during the day time in centennial gardens and we were attacked by a African American male ...we called the police there was nothing they could do cause there were no witnesses... but maybe if they cameras and lights down there they would of had their proof.. so this is not a safe park.

Wonderful place, it has undergone a huge transformation from the state it was in years ago. As someone who regularly ran through here then and now, it's great to see such positive changes, it's a smooth 2K gravel loop, mixed shade and gets good use by the community now.

I can't speak this park before... but man it's sure gross now, and DANGEROUS. I mean, it's still maintained, and groomed. But, used needles riddle the sides of walkways and trash bins with trash over flowing in some areas. There is a homeless camp setup in a few areas. The disk golf course is fantastic... just wear some stab-proof socks so your don't accidentally try heroin!

Maybe someday we will feel comfortable playing here. Today we feel we must drive 20 km to NOTL to play disc golf. I don’t want to throw my disc into the woods among so many tents and drugs. I feel tax dollars have gone to waste as so few people will venture into this park.

Used to love coming here for a nice walk on the weekends; you can tell people care about it as they've renovated the bridge and added the disc golf... But unfortunately it's become a campsite for the homeless, those dealing with mental health and also drug users. It isn't a comfortable place to go walking anymore. My by heart goes out to them, I know there aren't many places for them to go...

Nice park. I was here for disc golf. Good course for that.

  • 3/5 Pete 9 months ago on Google • 62 reviews
Good place for a lunch time walk as there is a nice loop trial to walk. The disk golf course is popular and looks like a bit of a challenge. Some, at times considerable, sketchiness abounds thanks to Start Me Up being in close proximity, which regrettably means you need to keep your kids on the path due to the discarded needles. I imagine it is best to avoid going here once it's dark due to the tent folks and their evening activities. Once the park is no longer used as a campground and the addicts are discouraged from using it as a location to partake in their activities, this park is going to be pretty mint.

I should have read the reviews before going to this park. It's basically an enormous homeless campsite. I was glad I brought my dog but was hurrying through the loop to get back to my car. I'll never go there again.

I love this park. So beautiful. First and second Welland canal run through it. Still has a lock from First Welland and can see lock going under the road of the Second Wrlland canal. The issue with this park has always been you never feel safe in this park. A lot homeless people and drug use. The city has never made this park a priority. Way to much garbage along both hillsides. I am still giving a 4 star it is a must visit during day if you love the local canal history.

this is a little slice of magic ...in Niagara. the work that has been done to this place is commendable.. a community garden flourishes during the summer and an amazing disc golf course that is well maintained throughout the year.. perfect for a nice walk where you can gaze at the willow trees and follow the old canal stream that runs through it ..you are likely to make some friends along the way..

Disc golf course is compact but hilly with some trees. Community garden and a small pavilion are nice additions. Unfortunately parking is woefully inadequate.

Awesome little disc golf course. Helped to clean up the area. Still some trash that needs to be picked up but nice 18 hole course. Medium difficulty.

  • 5/5 Zap B. 1 year ago on Google
I'm am afraid to play here. My disc landed in the bushes. I saw things that can't be unseen. I don't think I will be back anytime soon. Long story short. I am down two discs. I do not want them back. All and all nice disc golf course.

A great hidden frisbee golf course is placed throughout this area. Being close to the downtown, you can walk over straight from the bus station or after having a nice lunch downtown. Walking down into the gardens moves you away from city noise. Great artwork is hidden throughout.
