The best Japanese food in the region, the restaurant is comfortable and clean, the food was tasty and fresh, Do yourself a favor and visit East Yzakaya in St Catharines. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience, Afra was very kind and friendly. My wife and I definitely will return to this amazing place.

Typical all you can eat sushi quality. Great variety. For 2 adults on a Saturday night, I paid approx. $95 before tip. Torched squid sushi is the best. Lots of stairs to climb to get to the washroom. Fast and great service.

Visited Niagara region as well as St. Catherines over the weekend and had the pleasure to eat lunch here, dinner menu. Very delicious, didn’t have to wait too long and friendly stuff. The whole restaurant and bathroom very clean also! Great atmosphere for dining.

We celebrated my birthday here last night and was my first time here. The Salmon Sashimi was super fresh and was the perfect thickness too. We absolutely loved the torched items and they have a great selection of both fresh seafood and cooked dishes. It was busy as all the tables were filled but the atmosphere still felt intimate and relaxed. Our server, Afra, was friendly and did a great job at keeping an eye on us especially when we needed to get our teas refilled, and if we needed anything else. The wait times were good too. Food came hot and within a few minutes. The flow was good. Highly recommend!

This is a great place for everyone. It has so many choices of food to eat from and the best part is that you can do all you can eat and get twice more food than what you get at a restaurant like AppleBees for $100. I recommend this restaurant everyone with families, couples or going by yourself. This restaurant also has a lot of vegan choices so do not worry if you are vegan! When I am in St.Catherine’s again, I will always come here.

We came here for lunch. This is a decent place with good food and excellent services. I wish they could use less sauce on their dishes as the sauce was too salty and overpowered the food natural flavours. Our favourites included potato salad, roll with scallop, sour spicy cucumber. I would recommend this restaurant.

I went by myself Very friendly, amazing kind staff. I got all you can eat sushi, I ate and ate. Presentation of the food absolutely amazing, nothing but positive.

My husband surprised me for my Birthday and invited several of our friends for dinner. The atmosphere, food and service was amazing. There were so many food choices something to please everyone. The staff sang me happy birthday and gave me a lovely gift. Our server Emily was fantastic. I highly recommend :)

Employees are so friendly and welcoming! The food here just make me speechless, worth the money and definitely recommend to every sushi-lovers out there. I was serviced by Anya and Tran, both of whom are great employee, made my dining experience more pleasant thanks to them:) I will definitely come back anytime soon for more brilliant food that they have to offer!

My favourite sushi in Niagara. Great food when you dine in and just as good take out. —————————————————————————— Came for dinner today and to no surprise food is top notch. However, I was surprised with the service. We were not asked once if we wanted a refill on our drinks or maybe a simple checkup through our meal. I did not remove a star as the server did ask when we were already having desert. A tad bit too late. I hope this was just a one off.

Very polite service for all we could eat sushi dinner. Adult drinks were enjoyable, but they paid attention to a full menu of mocktail drinks as well. I don't know how they do it. Everything was brought out fairly quickly, staff were extremely courteous, and it was an endless amount of food. We were impressed!

First time to East Izakaya, we went for a late lunch to early dinner for a group of 12. Half our party was an hour late and the staff was extremely understanding and accommodating. We had 4 little kids that all found things on the very large and extensive menu. I recommend paying the extra $10 for the dinner menu vs. the lunch menu. There are sashimi options, more yakitori, and dessert options with the dinner menu. It's definitely worth it! Food came out quickly and plated beautifully! They even sent the robot out singing happy birthday, which was such a wonderful treat for everyone. Our server George was amazing, helpful, and very informative he made the dining experience wonderful as well as all the other staff there. We are definitely going to go again and so excited to hear they will be opening a restaurant in the Buffalo NY area. Which will save the trip over the border. But it's still worth the trip to St. Catherines

I visited East Izakaya for the very first time in October 2023 (apologies for the delayed post), with my partner and I cannot recommend it enough! We originally called the restaurant to book a reservation and was told it was going to be about an hour wait, but the person on the phone mentioned that we could take a chance and turn up to see if there was a table free at that time. We took her advice, got in a Uber and turned up. We waited about 10 minutes and was shown to a table. Afra was our server that night and she was fantastic! From her very polite manner to her great recommendations, thank you. Because of Afra, I tried sake for the first time and was not disappointed :) The whole evening was fantastic, the food was delicious and fresh and everyone was so polite, even the robot server. I highly recommend East Izakaya, you won't be disappointed. I do recommend booking in advance though, we were lucky that night. When we're back in St. Catharines, we will be sure to visit again

We love going to have dinner with all the family! Service is good even thought some orders get lost(wich happens multiple times every time we come), and that some others take years to get to the table (literally just got the pork belly while waiting for the dessert), the attendants are very helpful and always ask if we are missing something, the food is always delicious and they have a lot of variety, and the place is nice.

This is the best sushi all you can eat by far!! My family and I have been attending this place for a while now and it couldn't be any better. We come all the way down from Hamilton and it is totally worth the drive.The sushi is nice and fresh, all other food items are delicious and mouth watering. They even have a lot of selections for dessert. Usually other sushi places you go to don't have many desserts, but this one is not like that at all. And most importantly the service is outstanding. By far the best service for an all you can eat establishment. The servers are very attentive, kind and welcoming. We will always be regulars here. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing experience when dining out.

I went there with my dad two evenings in a row when I was competing at a guitar competition nearby. The service was immaculate, the food was fresh and absolutely delicious. The plating was especially nice, as the food would be served a slightly different way on different trays with different decorations every time, which added a creative and artistic touch to it. Props to our server, I forgot his name, but if he reads this, I'm sure he'll remember us.

The food here tastes generally good, and they have a lot of variety from torched rolls, sashimi, special rolls, and grilled meat (yakitori, so good). The atmosphere is great and the staff are super nice!

We have been going here since it opened. First time back since before covid and it was absolutely delicious! The same delicious food and same ambiance we always come for. We will be back!

Great service and even better food. They have a great assortment of dishes, I recommend trying the torched sushi. I'm not in St. Catherine's too often but I'll definitely be coming back here next time I'm in town

I had a great experience at this restaurant. Ths food was tasty and price was reasonable. Tables were not cleaned properly both time I visited, this could be the result of lack of staff or training or both.

Great quality sushi for a good price! The sashimi was very tender and fresh, shrimp tempura (not pictured) was so juicy and flavorful, and the dragon rolls were melt in your mouth good! $40 per person for AYCE and it's NOT buffet-style so no need to worry about other people!

Cup holding tea was very hot, not touchable until tea cooled. Calamari is very good. Sushi rolls were expertly rolled and delicious.

Absolutely the best sushi place I’ve been irregardless of location. Food is fresh and delicious. Service is great and ambiance is quite nice too. Worth my 2+ hour drive from Toronto. Due to covid-19, My most recent visit was a takeout order on my way to Niagara Falls. Food was perfectly made.

Pleasantly surprised with how tasty & fresh all the sushi was. Mango & avocado were perfect ripeness. Provided generous wasabi, soy & ginger portions. Will definitely order takeout again!

Great service, all servers are always readily available despite super busy lunch time. Sushis and sashimi are bigger cut/serving. Overall, will eat here again when we are back in the area.

This is our third time dining at East Izakaya. The servers were attentive, glasses were never empty, empty plates and bowls taken away promptly. Quality of the rolls, sushi and sashimi were good and presentation is beautiful. Some other dishes lack authenticity, but not horrible. We will definitely return when we're in the area.

I've ordered takeout here, I've dined in and each time has been better than the last. East has such a delicious selection and honestly there really is something for everyone, even if you don't like sushi!

This place was exceptional. I personally don't like sea food so much but there's some great options even for those who are like me. Food came quick, everything was fresh and delicious, and everything complimented eachother very well. The general tao chicken was my personal favorite.

Great sushi selection and very good flavours! Favourite was the shrimp mango and green dragon. The mars bars here are also really good for dessert.

I drove here from Toronto just for the rave reviews from Justin. It didn't disappoint. Also love the holiday touch 👌

I’m a little obsessed with this place. I come up to the area once or twice a year and this spot is always on my list. It’s the best sushi I’ve ever had and I love their service style. I was really impressed with how they changed the setup for Covid safety. The price is reasonable for what you get and the fish is so fresh. They have great options for all you can eat so people like me who want a little bit of everything can do just that!

Service was a little slow, and we waited about 15 minutes for refills on our drinks. The kitchen was super loud and it sounded like plates or trays were being dropped on the floor by the dozens every few minutes. The food is great, but I find Wind to be a bit better in quality and care. East Izakaya does have a larger menu than Wind, however they're lacking in curry and food is brought out in a very odd order. Several hot dishes, like beef teriyaki (my favourite) were served cold. Overall, the food we got was pretty decent but everything else was a bit of a mess. There's still a bunch of dishes being thrown around the kitchen as I type this... Also the price for lunch and dinner is very difficult to find, so I'm attaching a picture of their pricing EDIT: I forgot to mention that the staff seemed very confused with food allergy concerns. My boyfriend is allergic to cashews and we had to repeat that to three different people, one of which was confused as to what a cashew is... it was a huge concern because we didn't know if they were really understanding the allergy or not, and my boyfriend is extremely allergic. We found out they do not serve any tree nuts but it took us repeating the allergy to several people before that was mentioned. It did not impact our meal, but it was very worrisome.

Omg loved it. My bf and my brother sat there for 3 hours almost. YES we did all you can eat. Yes reserve your tables, it gets busy (I went there at Boxing Day) carry cash on you if you want to tip your server (i unfortunately didn’t but next time I come I’ll get some cash on me) my server was George and he was a sweetheart. Loved their matcha ice cream I ordered it four times, I haven’t had a green tea ice cream that great anywhere else in Ontario, even their matcha cheesecake. Also we ordered the Clam Sake 3 times too, we are personally big fan of it in general. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was their seafood soup, it wasn’t for me perhaps for someone else. But yeah 10000/10 recommended.

I will recommend this restaurant to everyone. The best Japanese buffet. Sushi and sashimi are amazing. Desserts are good too. It’s my husband’s birthday and the sever send a robot with cake and birthday song. What a big surprise! And the young man ( I asked for his name but still didn’t remember) provides excellent service to us.
