Not to Jack Astor standards. The restaurant needs a good cleaning inside. The beer glasses always showed the Jack Astor logo but not. Staff ignores customers to take orders somewhat surprising but congregrate with locals. Barman was not even wearing a company shirt his own shirt. Local patrons hang out in corner drinking with no food orders just beer. Two tables are occupied in entire restaurant. One blocking fire exit near bar. Garlic bread loaf was soaked in garlic butter and wings were desperately under cooked. Management is not maintaining standards.

Jack Astor's in St Catharines is a great restaurant to visit in St Catharines. It is a great stop for lunch or dinner on the way to or from Niagara and offers a large variety of food and drinks. It is like a typical Jack Astor's but the staff at this location is very friendly and quick. The location follows Covid-19 protocols and you must complete a questionaire before you can enter the restaurant. The service was very quick and friendly and the food itself was prepared well. Definitely recommend coming to this Jack Astor's!

Used to love going, But won't go back again. Service was horrible. No longer provide fresh cheese for pasta. Piece of chicken was 1/3 of a chicken breast. Food was cold. Pan bread now is tiny. What happened to this place? Everyone that i was with was shocked at the cost especially when seeing the tiny portion. Ordered asiago chicken bow ties

Been about 6yrs since i had been here last and went back solely for the food. The wings were the main point of my return and they didnt disappointed. Food was great, atmosphere was as i remembered but the server was the weak point an enjoyable return. Will definitely be back again.

We came in on a cold evening in the hopes for finding a nice warm bowl of beer and cheddar soup. This was our go to. I cannot believe all soups have been discontinued, especially seeing they were still being served during the hot summer nights. This makes no sense! Now we need to find a new place with good soup. Any recommendations? BTW-I have given the food at two star. Every time I hit post it changes to a five star. It is not my intent to give the food to five star.

Great service and food. Went here for lunch, arrived right when they opened, and we were served right away. No rush, just enjoyed a nice lunch with some friends. Our server asked if there was a special occasion, to which we replied, we were heading to visit a friend in hospital. Great food at reasonable prices.

I recently visited Jack Astor's Bar & Grill in St. Catharines and I must say that it was a fantastic experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The food was outstanding. I ordered the BBQ ribs and they were cooked to perfection. The portion size was generous and the sauce was delicious. My friends ordered other items from the menu and everyone was happy with their meals. The drinks were also great. They have a wide selection of beers, wines, and cocktails to choose from. I tried their signature cocktail and it was absolutely delicious. The service was exceptional. Our server was attentive, friendly, and always had a smile on her face. She made sure that we had everything we needed and provided excellent recommendations. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Jack Astor's Bar & Grill in St. Catharines. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food, drinks, and service. Five stars all the way!

Decided to have dinner here tonight with the family and grand daughter. Our server Bobby was great. Food was good but it seems that the air conditioning was not working properly. It was one of the hottest days this year and I have to say it was not as enjoyable as it should have been. We were definitely warm sitting in the restaurant. I can only imagine how hot it must have been for kitchen staff......

It had been quite a few years since I ate at a Jack Astor's. I, as well as two others at my table, ordered the fish & chips plate. The 2 fillets of Haddock were accompanied by an abundant bed of fries, a small not too tangy helping of cole slaw, a tub of a mild but tasty tartar sauce, and of course, ketchup. I had to ask for more ketchup for the abundant fries. The fish coating was not oily at all - bravo! The service was good. My own personal downside was the loudness of the music, but I suppose that fits with being a bar.

Absolutely loved my experience at this restaurant! It was a spontaneous decision to go, and despite it being a busy Saturday night they managed to get us in right away! Service was great, food was GREAT, and prices are reasonable. It was a very clean environment and our server was lovely. I would also like to add that my boyfriend loved the dessert spoons lol.. keep it up guys you’re doing amazing!

My experience at Jack Astor's was rather average. The service was okay, and the food, while not bad, didn't stand out as anything special. It felt like your typical bar food, but with a higher price tag and the added surprise of an 18% service charge. During dinner, we ordered a variety of dishes, and while we left satisfied, it wasn't an exceptionally memorable dining experience. The overall impression was that it was just an average meal without any standout features. Considering the price and the service charge, I expected a bit more from the experience. While it's not a terrible choice, I didn't leave Jack Astor's feeling extraordinarily happy.

Went on a Friday night without a reservation and decided to wait the half hour for a table. Had my 3.5 year old daughter and we sat on a chair at the door forbthe half hour and viewed the menu online so we could order everything quickly. The host was very friendly as well as our server. It was extremely busy yet our server was efficient, friendly, accurate and the food came quickly as well. We had a great experience overall. This was my first time eating here and i can't wait to come back and enjoy another margarita. Washrooms are in a strange location in the restaurant and also extremely strange layout.....that's the reason the 4 for atmosphere

On a Friday afternoon myself and my toddler waited at the front door for almost 10 minutes before we were seated. I made eye contact with several servers in the dining room hoping one would seat us. When the host finally did come to the front, we were overlooked and she began to seat another couple (who came in after us) first. I spoke up and said to the couple weren’t we here first? Waited another 5-8 minutes for our server to come over. Except the server walks passed us and goes to the table behind us. I look over my shoulder and it’s the same couple who arrived after us at the front door. Terrible customer service. Staff are not paying attention to the front door. Will not be back.

By far my Favorite Chain restaurant in the entire Niagara Region, the staff are the best group of people ever, so accommodating, and friendly and truly make your entire time. It's a place like no other because of them. The food is always on point cooked to perfection and EXACTLY as I ask each and every time. However, If I could recommend 2 things, one would be close later, it's sucks when we want to go out to eat and have a few drinks our fav place is closed, and two BRING BACK THE SCALLOPED POTATOES... Also, may I suggest a raise for the bartender, he's made Jack Astor's what it is for years now. We love youuuu and thank you for all you do. Hair

Used to come to Jack Astors pre Covid all the time. Ashley would serve us and she was WONDERFUL each and everytime. Tonight we went for dinner and our server was so uninterested it made us question if we made the right decision to come there. The host (a male) was so friendly and kind. I wish I could remember his name he was awesome ! We asked for ketchup for the fries and by the time the server brought it… we were done our meal. Food was okay, probably will give this another shot in the future.

Had the pleasure of going g there twice last week. Once with my son and then the 2nd time with a big group of son's volleyball team & all the parents. The setup was nice. The food was good. Our servers were nice and polite.

My husband and I went for dinner, it was trivia night - appetizers were half price! We indulged on cauliflower bites, tuna guacamole, nachos with taco beef and garlic cheese bread! Everything was delicious! I wanted to order dessert, but I ate too much! :( Moira was our server - fabulous! One of the best servers I have had in recent times.

Not my favourite place. The menu is small and the prices are expensive for how small their portions are. Food was mediocre too. Decent place but the service isn’t very good, our waitress barely paid us any attention and our drinks took like 15 minutes. Good ambiance but that’s about it. There’s better bar and grills to check out

Tried their "renegade chicken" brand. This was definitively the worst meal I've ever had from a restaurant. Cold generic chicken and fries. Mac and cheese with deep fryer oil on top and nothing to eat it with. Even the dipping sauces were wattered down.

We always visit the St. Catharines Jack Astors specifically for our favorite server/bartender Salfi. His customer service is top notch. He remembered us from prior covid to post covid. He remembered our son loved hockey and had hockey cards that he had kept throughout covid and when we came in he remembered us by name and what we drink. I would say we probably wouldn't be back if it weren't for him.

Went early January. The place was freezing, had to sit with our coats half on and other patrons also had their coats on, which didn't make for a great night out. The food seems to have gone done hill over time. Had the fish tacos which clearly are frozen fish sticks and they sure tasted cheap. The other items were a chicken burger, regular burger and pasta. They were all fine with their food just found it basic compared to what use to be served at the restaurant. the menu just seems to have really down. Not happy they got rid of their vanilla and cherry coke either.

Jack Astor's has such a great delivery setup. Their delivery bags have the menu attached and a sweet thank you from the local shop. They divide each menu item so that nothing gets doggy and provide instructions on how to prepare things yourself so that you can have the same experience at home as in-restaurant. We tried the Mexican Chicken Bowl, Jack's Cheese Garlic Pan Bread, Big Daddy Clucker and then the 'My Cookie Ate My Brownie.' Everything was absolutely amazing. The Mexican Chicken bowl was so fresh, and filling. The Garlic Bread was a great add on - they give you the toppings and instructions on how long to warm up the garlic butter so that you can do it at home and it isn't soggy by the time it arrives to you. The burger (Big Daddy Clucker) was also an excellent choice. To top it off, we had the cookie- brownie. Such a great way to end a super filling and delicious meal!

Food was good. Service was great. Covid check in is more complicated than it has to be. Some people don't want to use QR codes to eat at a restaurant. In fact if my mom and aunt went they couldn't because neither have a smartphone. The restrooms was absolutely atrocious. Like a monsoon went through them. Not only unclean but poorly designed and in a terrible location. It's like they were an afterthought.

We have been coming to Jack Astors since it opened . We mainly come for the beer and cheddar soup. I had an MRI this morning and all I wanted was that soup! SO disappointing its been taken off the menu! My entire huge family comes just first this, so unfortunately we won't be back , at least not as much Today service was horrendous. It's usually much quicker......feels like we were put in the corner and forgotten:( My wings were good. But I wanted the soup :(

Was here the other night and had some pretty annoying service. I totally understand and can respect that with Covid wait times may be a bit long than expected - this review is not about that. I don’t think I’ve had service this bad in a very long time. Forgot my friends drink, brought my other friend a different sized drink than what was ordered. Brought out two additional apps that were not ordered. The bills were a complete mess and needed to be fixed 3 times. The worst part, they work off iPads and can simply input the information as it’s ordered. The calamari was a rip off - it was full of these onion or red pepper bits… we ordered calamari not a plate full of deep fried filler. I would have given it 1 star but the main was actually really delicious.

Attended on a Monday night but it was a nice enough night we could sit on the patio. The atmosphere was nice and the patio was well set up. It was covered at the tables so even with light rain you could stay dry. The restaurant was not that busy on both the patio or inside. Service was slow during the time we attended. I am not sure if it was the wait staff attending to the table or they didn't have enough staff working at the time. Wait staff appeared to be disinterested in our party. Did not engage much and was pretty serious when taking the order. It would have been nice of they had of felt the table feel like they were happy we were there. It took a long time for the staff to come and get the drink order and then serve it and even longer to take the food order. Food was okay but have had better experience at other Jack Astor's across the province. I may attend in the future but would definitely consider other options prior to returning.

Had the beer and cheddar soup. It was delicious. Good selection of beers. Quiet day but we were there from noon to 1:30 pm so not many patrons. Server was excellent. Good sense of humour and very personable.

Great ambiance, delicious food and super friendly staff. We had an amazing experience with our bartender/server. He made us feel comfortable and helped us choose from the menu as per our likings. Overall a great place for a great experience.

Frequently visit. Quality has dropped off recently. Fries are small, weak, pitiful. Sad to look at. And the wings used to be covered in hot sauce. Absolutely slathered. Last time I went they where dry. Enjoy the atmosphere but wish it would improve

We had reservations but got here 40 minutes early. We were seated right away. Servers were super friendly, Kevin the manager came to check on us personally. Food was fresh and delicious. We will definitely come back to this location.

Food and atmosphere were lovely. We had a toddler running crazy on the patio and a fussy little babe and no one was judgemental😅 Wish I took photos, there were 4 of us and we each got something different and everything was just so so good. From burgers to pasta. 💣💣

Ordered the chicken fingers and seasonal veggies... that's a very tiny portion of veggies. Chicken was Luke warm and sauce was thrown in when i made a note saying on the side. Its a simple order... I'll give this location one more try to see if it was a one off.

I visited Jack Astor's with my daughter and had the greatest experience with our server Bobby. Not only that but we were greeted with such kindness and joy by the host Kailey. Kailey and Bobby went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time. A thank you to the kitchen as well for the delicious bruschetta and Buddha salad. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. A nice place to go after a hectic day.

We went with a group of 5 for lunch and a visit. As advertised, the chicken fingers were freshly made, not frozen. I had the buffalo, my friend regular. We both had a hard time finishing our meal, we both chose Ceasar salad as our side which was fresh and tasty! My husband had Thai Shrimp Curry.- it had ample vegetables, flavourful without being too spicy and the shrimp were peeled(no messy peeling involved as so often is the case). He thought he'd take some home, but nope it was so good he ate the whole thing. The waitress was attentive but did not rush us! A great place for a relaxing lunch!

I went to have some dinner after a long day of work. I waited 5 minutes to be seated. Multiple staff saw and ignored me. Three women walked in and were served right away. I walked up to the bar and respectfully asked if I could please be sat and have a menu. They had the audacity to tell me they were short staffed when it was pretty slow in the restaurant. Finally, they told me I could sit only if I had cash. 2022 folks. Who walks around with a wad of cash on hand? It felt like a cheap tactic to get me to leave. Not sure if this was a display of laziness or ignorance, but either way, this restaurant suffers from some folks with a bad outlook/attitude that simply aren't worth the time.

I would highly recommend eating here! We had a great meal (last Saturday) but it was our server Jacqui who made it memorable! Her recommendations were perfect for us; she was attentive, but not intrusive, and her positive, friendly personality made the dining experience one that we want to repeat. Make sure you ask for her section when you go in!

The food was delicious! Service was very speedy and very kind! The atmosphere was more of like a modern pub/family dining, I loved it. The only thing that was negative was the food was a bit pricey for what it was, but the beer was excellently priced.

My rating dropped from a 5 star two years ago to a 2 start today ! Very offended and disappointed in the service this evening. A friend and I need a good night out and a good place to eat quick. When approached by server upon entering she denied us access to eat at the bar quick or in house. Told us wait time is a hour and they need to accomdate a party coming shortly. No offering take our or anything else, left us hanging with a dirty look. Won't be returning for awhile and very upset.

Always wonderful staff especially the days I go in there I always go in the off days. Now I've given that hint away everyone's going to go on the off days and I'll have to change my plans. I can only eat a handful of things due to the sheer amount of allergies I have and that's one of the few restaurants I know of that I can walk in order something off the menu and it literally won't kill me. Wonderful place wonderful people recommended. I will make the suggestion to people going there with children bring a box of crowns with you so they have more than three colors to choose from
