Was supposed to go on a picnic at the beach with my friends but it rained that day. Good thing the cafe was open during that time. It was our first time in Ludology and we were amazed with the wide selection of board and card games. The price for food is reasonable as the servings were big and the food was tasty. We love the atmosphere as well :)

This place is amazing!!! Great atmosphere and wonderful selection of board games. The staff were friendly and the service was fantastic. Couldn't ask for a better drink and food menu. They also have a great snack menu. There's something for everyone here! Thanks Josh for the hospitality.

Very happy with this board game cafe. I wish we had this a couple of years ago when we were going to school. Great selection of games, drinks, food, dessert and the staff were extremely friendly. Will be coming back the next time I'm in town with friends.

My favourite place for drinks and fun! Not only are your sober friends going to have fun playing board games, you get to try some nerdy drinks too! With great food, drinks, entertainment, and service, Ludology is a must-do. I highly recommend the fresh-cut fries and the D20 shots!

I went into Ludology blindly tonight with a few friends not really knowing exactly what to expect. Our Server Josh kept our entire experience extremely fun. The board game selection was great and the drinks were awesome, we will definitely be back. Thanks Josh for the great service and for bringing me and my friends together!

Fun for the whole family. The first time I visited was with my wife for a quick drink and game before a dinner reservation at another restaurant. We had such a good time we came back for lunch the next day with the kids. We’ve since been back many times including with many different friends. The hospitality is exceptional, the atmosphere is great, and the game selection and organization is impressive. But best of all - the house hamburger can not be undersold. It is literally one of the best hamburgers I’ve ever had every time I have it. I dream of that burger. Ask the staff to tell you about the love and care that goes into their hamburger… it’s impressive. See you there. Enjoy!!

This was my first time going to Ludology but I will definitely be going back, I had an absolute blast. The drinks we ordered tasted great and the server Josh was so entertaining and welcoming. We even got to roll a die to choose a flavoured shot! It was a ton of fun! We never once felt rushed to finish our game or pressured into buying food and drinks just to be there. I would highly recommend it if you want a fun, tasty and cheap night out!

Loved this place. My wife and I stopped in with my daughter and her boyfriend, and played some fun games. Besides being a fantastic place to play games, with a great atmosphere, the service was too notch and the drinks were equally as good. I had a caffeine free London fog that was absolutely amazing. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town.

This place is so unique…Unlike other board game places in town, the food is unexpectedly TOP NOTCH! You can tell they really take pride in their menu and they even make their own buns. Tried a great selection of local beer and funky cocktails too (try the ‘Candyland’). Our double date was SO much fun playing trivia while we lounged — and the creme brûlée was dynamite 😋 Can’t wait to go back!!!

Checked out this board game cafe with a couple of my friends and had a great time. The cafe has a great selection of games for anywhere to two people to large groups. There are games that are suitable to play with children as well as ones that adults will enjoys. Staff will help you learn any of the games that you are interested in, so don't feel like you can't come here if you haven't played many games before. The menu has a good selection of options including vegetarian and vegan options. My sister has a soybean allergy and some other food intolerance and the staff were very helpful with aiding her in selecting menu items that she could eat and checking the ingredients of the fry oil (they don't use soy). I had the Adventurer's Club sandwich, which I highly recommend. My sister had the Buffalo Chicken Dip, which was amazingly delicious. Our friend had the taco salad and quite enjoyed it as well. Their fries are crispy and nicely seasoned. The cafe also has a wide drink selection including teas, cocktails, beers, and ciders. Overall a very positive experience and I will definitely be bringing more friends back to this place.

Perfect place! You can have a conversation with your friends while playing a table game, delicious food and the prices are modest, you definitely have to go and try everything they have! We love it!

The atmosphere is great and really welcoming with a huge array of board games and cards. Dinner for two with one shared appetizer and a tea was approximately $75 without the tip, but the portions were huge! I had a great time and will definitely be returning, most likely just to have a tea while I try out a new game!

I absolutely LOVE this place!!!!! The spinach dip is amazing. They make such fun drinks. The staff are all so so so lovely and fun every time I go in. I’ve brought multiple groups of friends here and they’ve all loved it. Dez, Olivia and Jeremy have all served my friends and I. They are all spectacular, personable and attentive! They remember me every time I go in. The board game selection is 10/10 and the POSTERS they have all over the cafe are actually for sale!! I’ve bought two gorgeous Studio Ghibli prints from them, and bought two The Last of Us prints for my friend. Definitely recommend this place :)

We went downtown early for a show and wanted a nice place for a drink. Ended up at Ludology, what a great time. We sat outside on the heated patio with a blanket and our own table heater. The drinks were amazing and the dice was fun. Josh the owner is super friendly and all the staff we spoke to were friendly and welcoming. I would recommend this Cafe. I will be returning with my family to enjoy the food, drinks and board games.

We absolutely loved this place! There's so many board games to choose from, their spinach dip was the best we've ever had, great cocktails, and Josh was a fantastic server. Definitely coming back!

went on a date there in the evening. first people there. great service until other customers came. i get that you need to serve other people but we were forgotten about for about an hour. a max of 3 other tables were there and the service quality went down. good games. cool place. nothing i could eat but still had a fun time. if you have many allergies like me, i would say to eat before you go.

Great service from Des who adjusted the blinds, helped take pictures, and was an absolute gem! Food tasted wonderful, and the portions were amazing. The atmosphere was cozy, relaxing, and engaging. Definitely a place that I want to keep visiting. 😍😍

my favourite place in downtown st. catharines! the atmosphere is so lovely, and the drinks and food are AMAZING and affordable! such a large selection of games as well. plus, the staff are so friendly! really creepy guy hung around my friends and i so our server reuben helped us move to the patio and we had a great night. josh was also so much fun and we hung out with him most of the night. highly recommend ludology!!!!!!

Ludology is a staple in our downtown adventures and offers a thoughtful menu with excellent cocktails. The D20 shot list is always a good time with friends as well!

Have been here many times, awesome game selection, tasty themed drinks and pub like food. The staff are always kind and keep up with the generally packed place. Make sure you make a reservation so you don't have to wait! The only deduction in stars/ reservation I have is it's so awesome but they jam too many people at the tables so it can be hard to get in and out of your table to go pick games... But just make sure you use your manners with your neighboring tables and it's a great time!

We went there last night and the place was packed. We came back and sat on the couch which was a mistake😝 because We almost spent the night it was so comfy. Jason and Josh were super kind, fun and funny and our drinks were delish, everyone of them! Must try the North of the Wall Hot cocoa, it was the best!!!! But beware, if you drink it all because it is a meal and dessert with a slight buzz if you’re not a drinker. We were tired so we didn’t play any games, but plenty of people were having a great time with the board games. As we were leaving we rolled a die to take a farewell shot. So fun and yum! Can’t wait to come back and try the food and introduce the rest of our families to our new friends at Ludology.

What a wonderful and unique place to visit! Choose from Ludology's huge selection of board games for a fun games day/night or simply enjoy some drinks on the back patio. We ordered Candyland and the Passion Fruit Sour - delicious and unlike any other cocktails we've had in downtown St. Catharines. There's truly something for everyone at Ludology!

The food never let me down once and the staff is super friendly! The perfect spot for both a nice meal or snacks and games! They have such an extensive craft beer and cocktails menu, I'd need to come everyday to try them all!

Spent an evening at Ludology and as soon as we got there Josh set the the tone for a great evening. He gave us perfect recommendations based on asking questions of what kind of games we are looking for and made sure they fit our needs. He sat down with us and taught us how to play a game he had recommended. Above and beyond anything I would have expected. Would recommend this place and Josh anytime

Went to this gem with friends one night, great atmosphere, fantastic drinks, overall a great unique experience. Our waiter Joshua was probably the best lad I've ever met. Extremely helpful, cheerful, cured my mothers cancer, engaged, the whole 9-yards. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Had a change of plans in the evening last night, so a friend who had been to Ludology suggested we all go for some games & drinks. Best decision ever. Fantastic game selection, awesome video game art all over, good vibes, and better drinks. If I could marry the Euphoria Espresso Martini, I would buy the ring within the hour. Josh is such a passionate wealth of knowledge, and he kept our spirits high when we would roll a gross tasting shot from the D20 shot list. We’ll be coming back asap!! :)

Our family had a fantastic time at Ludology. The food and drinks are delicious! The atmosphere is relaxed and the service is great. Really good selection of board games in good condition. We had a great time and highly recommend. We took our tween and teenager, fun family activity.

Went on a Niagara food tour and this was our last stop. The atmosphere was really nice, the entire concept is very cool! We were given sweet potato fries, with homemade nachos and spinach dip. It was amazing! I was so full prior to as this was our last stop but I made myself finish every last bite because of how good it was! I cannot wait to go back!

This place rules. Two of us went in on a whim last night as something to do on a Sunday night. We anticipated being there for a quick meal and game of Bananagrams but ended up staying a few hours. After finishing our game, and our food, the owner (Josh) Kindly explained to us how to play a couple games we'd never played. The service was kind and informative, the space is perfectly set up, the food is great and I will definitely be returning. As a heads up: There is a single 5 dollar per person fee to play games for the day/night which, after seeing their insane amount of games and how organized they are, I thought was totally worth it. Why spend 50-70 dollars on a game before going somewhere and giving it a go first?

What a fun stop. Play some games or have Josh or Jeremy make to an exceptional drink! Roll the icosahedron for an even more interesting shot! Watch for ever-expanding changes and improvement.

This place is brilliant. It's so warm and cozy. From the moment you step in you feel so invited. It's such a quaint little place. The interior is lovely, but the back patio where I went is awesome with a really nice view. The food is wonderful and reasonably priced. They have a few staples that they cook and prepare very well. While I haven't really had much of the alcohol menu they have plenty of options. It goes without saying the board games are abundant and well varied, so I'm sure everyone can find games they want to play. My girlfriend and I had a blast with only a couple card games. Also, particular shout out to Josh who was one of the most charming, informative, inviting servers I've ever had the pleasure to meet. This guy was in his element with so much charm and grace. I had no idea what I wanted to drink or play and got by on his suggestions, which were excellent. This place is terrific and you will not regret going.

This is such an awesome place! Every single time I'm in St Catherines, I come here. Ludology is great because it has something for everyone. Of course there are the games but there's fun, delicious drinks and tasty food and I never feel any pressure from the staff to do all three. There's been times when I've come in for just drinks and food and other times just for drinks and games and it's never been an issue. The atmosphere here is awesome too. A ton of comfortable seating and some really cool artwork too. The food is always delicious and there's some really creative drinks on the menu. The staff is also very friendly! The last few times I've went my server has been Reuben and he's great! He's friendly and very attentive but not at all pushy. Overall I love this place. If you have the chance, I highly recommend visiting.

I with my friend had gone to the place and ordered Sweet Potato Fries with Beef Burgers. We ordered Cappuccino as well. The fries were the best! That has to be the best sweet potato fries I ever had. The cappuccino was good too. However, the burgers were bland and didn't taste that good. The place was cozy and the behaviour of the staffs was nice though!

Today was our third visit here! Always love finding new board games with friends, with amazing food and service! Reuben was great helping us get our food but also being aware of the games we were playing. We also got to meet the owner! He was so kind and considerate 👍🏻 also if you want to donate board games they will take them!!
