First off...use this beach at your own risk. There are numerous signs and notices about the potential risks of the water. Together with my guests we ignored the signs...mainly because we chatted with a local resident who said that there is nothing wrong with the water...so throwing caution to the wind and trusting a complete stranger, we spent the day here. If you are up to the risk, know this: -The beach is not sandy, but still walkable in bare feet -The water is shallow for quite a distance, but has an abundance of vegetation growing. (I was able to make a faux wig out of a nice collection that I gathered...there is a picture of it somewhere...lol) -Parking is extremely limited, which makes one think that this beach is not maintained solely due to the fact that there is not enough parking. There is incredible potential for this beach to be busy, but due to the current constraints, I suspect that this is not a priority for the municipality.

Nice place for a walk but not in middle of the day as there was no shade. We wanted to have lunch there but no place to sit. Thankfully we had a blanket. The walk was long (about 3 km one way) but know way to know that before you get there.

Love to go here with the kids. They enjoy it, a good place to sit and have peace of mind. Good place to cool out. It's free to go there, all you need it food to eat and water to drink.

Nice place to walk and be close to the lake. But not really suitable for swimming. Lots of geese along with alot of their droppings. The water seemed clear but that doesn't mean it's good water. The water doesn't get tested. Swim at own risk!!!!!

Jones beach is quite small & very beautiful for views, however, not that nice as far as shorline. It is a private beach that should not be visited by anyone who does not live in the local Niagara area. It is in a residential neighbourhood & does not have parking for outside visitors.

Love it for relaxing especially when more well known beaches are crowded. Could use some cleaning up. The water not suitable for swimming but if you're engaging in other water activities, it might be (jet skiing etc.)

It's a good beach for bird watching. Some days it can smell from the algae but when it's cleaned it's a quiet beach to relax on.

Quiet beach on the other side of the Welland canal. Rocky sand beach with no life guard or water monitoring. But it is scenic being across marine and if clear you can see Toronto.

Beautiful beach with a nice view and a sweet trail nearby! We didn't have time to walk all the way to the tip, but it's definitely planned for a return visit.

Very small beach. The water was filled with algae and seed which made it impossible to swim in. The smell was horrible as well. Parking lot is really small. The park is good for picnic if you go toward the trees and away from the shores.

Is not the best beach but is quiet. A good place to spend a few minutes and enjoy a peaceful place

  • 3/5 afp 3 years ago on Google
Quiet place, limited parking. Not as nice as many other beaches in the area, but still a good opportunity to get close to the water.

Quiet beach that doesn't get overcrowded. Water can be calm enough to use floaties. Parking lot is small, but there is more street parking available.

  • 4/5 Michelle L. 1 year ago on Google
Like the secludedness. But not the cleanest beach. I don't swim here but I go at night for the peace

  • 4/5 Michelle K. 3 years ago on Google
It was nice, a quiet little beach. Pretty clean, the rocks as you enter the water are hard to walk on and a bit muddy/slimy after that but once you get past that it was nice. Some seaweed but the water wasnt really deep and you could go out quite a ways. Liked it alot πŸ™‚πŸ˜Ž

Nice little beach near the east pier of the Welland. Clean and calm. Only dislike was no toilet facility of any kind, and after a long drive would have been nice to see even a porta potty(maybe they are removed end of season?)

I see people saying this beach is clean, please don't let them tell you lies. I live near here the water is always disgusting but the beach does get cleaned often only good to walk, no toilet do not go in the water.

Beach was quiet. Water wasn't appealing and was dirty but was nice to spend an afternoon by the water. Small parking lot but lots available when we went.

People were distancing well, tractor on beach clearing waterfront and driver was very careful when driving and scooping up the green plants washed ashore. Nice area for a kayak paddle within a little bay-like area near a marina. Careful about getting out past the 2nd lighthouse where wind and waves can whip up on Lake Ontario.

Other than the gravel sand (highly recommend you bring beach mats), the overall atmosphere is great. Going for a dip in the water isn't bad, just keep in mind the water quality isn't controlled.

  • 3/5 Lal M. 3 years ago on Google
Small shoreline, the beach itself is very rough and not soft sand. Not a beach you can take off, your footwear....water is just about OK. There is an information board that stepping in, could be unsafe. If you live outside Niagara, you aren't permitted, to enter, so ours was a brief visit from a distance...The view is good especially at dusk , great sunset view.

The city has cleaned up the beach part nicely. However the water itself is filthy and is not monitored anymote it is so bad. A woman had her dog there and i told her not to let it go in cuz it would give the pup an ear infection. So i sent her to Sunset beach.
