We purchase the Heart of Niagara packaged. It included a $50.00 gift card to spend at Parkway Social and breakfast for two adults and two children. We used the $50.00 gift card at Parkway social bowl & arcade. Lots of fun but a bit pricey and doesn't cover much if you do a one-hour bowl and show rental. The breakfast was good and pretty decent. However, there's a fixed menu for the vouchers, and it's not breakfast off the regular breakfast menu. The hotel's cleanliness isn't the greatest. We found tweezers in the pool and vomit on the carpet in the hallway on the second floor. We reported both incidents to staff. Overall, we were not impressed with the cleanliness standards during this pandemic. The hot tub was closed during our stay. The beds are VERY firm and aren't very comfortable. Although it's close to the highway, it's not in the safest area. The old run-down car factory is very close by—a lot of run-down and abandoned property businesses. It's not the safest area outside of the hotel. After paying $498.32 after taxes for one night on a long weekend, we weren't too impressed.

While I appreciate how hard the staff who were working tried to satisfy a busy weekend, I was extremely dissatisfied overall and Holiday Inn should pay attention to properly staffing their hotels. We arrived for check-in at 320pm, well after check in times. The lobby had others already waiting. They said our room wasn’t ready, their cleaning staff was short staffed. They would call me when ready, I wanted to know how long so we would know what we should do, stay, go, unpack car etc. Give a 40min quote. Unpacked car and waited in lobby, with very uncomfortable chairs. 1hr later re-packed car, went next door, spent $50 entertaining the kids in the arcade, had a drink, waited. Asked again at 5pm and still not ready. 6pm room was finally ready, we were now late for our dinner which made us late for bowling. We had to ask for a voucher due to the inconvenience and only received $25. Our friends check in after us and didn’t get their room until 9pm! Pool was so dirty it was unusable. Our sink handle was broken in the room, stains on couch and chair. The elevators were only one per side and super slow due to others using it on a busy weekend. Overall I would not stay here again. Get your hardworking staff some help Holiday Inn, and invest in some upgrades and maintenance, you’re not meeting the expectations of your clients.

Mixed bag here. Room was clean, AC worked well. Bowling alley downstairs was really fun. Huge negative is the "rooftop" vnightclub on the 6th floor (where I was staying). Loud music plays late into the night and you cant do anything about it. It seems crazy that you would get people not staying there all liquored up and let them wander around. Big fight just outside my room at 1:30 in the morning. Never been to a hotel that puts a bar amidst the guest rooms, and this is why.

Whatever you do, do not book your wedding block with this hotel. In contrast to the wonderful experience we had with the Stonemill Inn, our experience with the holiday inn was absolutely horrendous. First of all it was terribly difficult to even get a hold of anyone to book our block, which should have been my first clue. Once we booked our block we were told that if we booked 15 rooms within it, we would qualify for a free shuttle for the wedding. Once we reached 15 rooms I signed a contract stating that if we dropped below 15 rooms before the wedding we would be charged 565$ for the shuttle. Unbeknownst to us, the week of our wedding a few people dropped out of our wedding block. Now fully aware that we had been looking for more rooms, the hotel failed to indicate to us that we no longer qualified for the free shuttle. Now I understand that I signed a contract, however I assumed common courtesy would be for them to tell us that we no longer qualified for the complimentary service. When we indicated to the hotel OWNER that we would have found alternative transportation for our guests (which we had lined up) had we been told, he laughed at us on the phone. It seems that as they don’t let you block more than 15 rooms for your wedding they’re essentially anticipating that some of your guests will cancel, and end up charging you for the shuttle. Which for 565$ really adds up in your wedding costs. Something that should be a seamless process just added unnecessary stress to an already hectic process and a day that should just have been blissful. This hotel owner is the most arrogant, pompous jerk I have ever had to work with. Your better off booking anywhere else

We booked the suite, but never really used the living room area because of the bad layout which meant that the living room had no windows. Between the lack of windows and drab décor, it was dark and depressing. The bedroom, living area, and bathroom was filthy. It looked like someone squirted milk all over every surface. *gag* There were long hairs all over. It was gross. There were several kids beside our room that were loud our entire stay. They were dragging furniture back and forth on the hard floors, they were banging on the walls, running around, and screaming. They continuously ran up and down the halls screaming and playing with the elevator. We reported it, but nothing changed. I doubt they even addressed our concerns TBH. The coffee bar in the room wasn't awesome. I have been to lots of hotels that give you things like International Delight Single Serve Coffee Creamers, but all they gave was a white powder that was nasty. The location isn't very nice. I usually like going for walks, but the area wasn't very good. I filled out a survey, but the manager sent a half-hearted email with no help or resolution.

Housekeeping staff are very inconsiderate slamming doors constantly as they’re going in and out of each room and talking loudly in the hallways. Not only do they do housekeeping early in the mornings at this hotel, they wait until 8:30pm/9pm at night to start again, which i have never heard of. Most hotels finish housekeeping by 4pm. The maintenance in this hotel is clearly not maintained AT ALL. During our stay we could not shut off our tap in the bathtub as the handle completely stopped working. Our air conditioning/heating unit broke down three times and still wasn’t giving off any heat whatsoever. There was cold air blowing through the window/air conditioning unit in the middle of winter. The maintenance crew didn’t even fix the issue. Apparently there was a leak across the hall from another guest’s room ceiling. As for the condition of the room, the wallpaper is peeling off one of the walls. There’s a weird bubbling on two of the wooden tables in our rooms. If you value your peace when staying at a hotel you will definitely not find it here, as the walls are paper thin and you can hear almost everything. You can hear kids running/pounding down the hallways late at night, screaming kids from surrounding rooms, loud footsteps from the room above, banging from the rooms next door, etc. Avoid this hotel at all costs if you’re looking to stay somewhere decent and well-kept and looking for a peaceful stay. This place is most certainly NOT IT. Extremely dissatisfied with this hotel.

Updated review after another good stay here. Nothing has changed for me as far as the interior/attention to detail goes. There are some noticable areas for improvement, but it really isn't that bad. Still the only hotel I've been to all year with a working hot tub and the pool was actually a comfortable temperature, which was a pleasant surprise. As others have mentioned, the decor in the rooms is somewhat dated and there are only 2 single elevators at either end of the property that aren't exactly the quickest, but for the price and location and having the bowling alley/restaurant/bar attached and being right next to the trampoline park and a Boston pizza in the same lot, it's excellent value for money.

A great hotel, well located for visiting Niagara Falls and the surrounding wine country. Everything you could want - good restaurant, great roof top bar. Clean, comfortable rooms with quiet air conditioning.

The location is great. The check in process + the lady at check in was great! The ROOMS were not great at all . As soon as you open the door you get this nasty smell of rot. Its extremely nasty. I believe it may be the carpet but also a mixture of everything else. i think the hotel needs updates asap. The smell is unbearable. The pool was ok though the water looked cloudy. Two elevators in the entire building to me is insane. Super slow and when it finally reached your floor it was packed. elevators are very small. A couple of stars only for the check in process, other than that i would not book again. Spend a few more dollars and get yourself another hotel.

PROS: Fast check-in, great location and very close to Niagara falls as well as much cheaper! Awesome bowling alley and arcade attached to the hotel. Tons of restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies nearby. Breakfast was included for us and was more than decent, service was great. CONS: Room was outdated, including the beds, that were far from being comfy. Bathroom was somewhat updated but very small with nowhere to put toiletry bags. Room was clean.

Stayed in a King suite with a jacuzzi. Room was spacious & clean. A little bit of noise from the room above when they were running their jacuzzi, but otherwise nice and quiet. Check-in was quick and painless. Hotel has a restaurant attached with some decent food options.

I visit St.Catharines regularly and when I need a hotel I usually stay here as it is central to the areas I need to get to. I always have a pleasant check in experience and the rooms are spacious and clean. I sometimes opt for the suite if I have someone staying with me and it is great to have all that space. My only suggestion for the suites would be to supply a couple of wine glasses. This past weekend I stayed and despite the hotel being under construction, it was still a good check in and stay. The staff is always personable and friendly and the hotel has an after 10pm quiet time in effect which seems to work since I've never had an issue with noise at night. Will continue to stay here.

We have booked this hotel regularly. The foyer has couches and a lovely fireplace and a cafe there as well as a pool & Jacuzzi and inside access to the arcade & bowling. This last stay we booked thru Aeroplan and arrived to see that the Foyer ,pool, jacuzzi, cafe, and inside entry to arcade & bowling were not available. When I asked for a partial refund the manager Dan Jennings said these items did not take away from the value of our stay. I was also charged for a bottle of water that was not in the room ,which was eventually refunded We stay here to visit family but will not be back! This was the 1st time using points we have always paid Lots of noise in the hall but there were holiday parties

Accidentally forgot my Jacket in the closet on check out. Housekeeping found it and never attempted to contact me (its not a mystery who it belongs to). A week later, l enquired and housekeeping said they had my jacket; they described it perfectly. Asked them to hold at front desk for someone l would send for pickup. My business colleague, attempted pickup, but accidentally went to the wrong hotel; he also didn’t bother to mention to me as l was on a trip to Japan. Upon return, spoke with hotel on the situation of my Jacket (39days in there possession) and they told me they no longer could find my jacket. They have a 45day policy but despite 39days, they believe my $700 jacket may have been garbaged. Super disappointed with this hotel.

Do not stay at this property if you have an expectation of privacy!!! We were slightly late waking and checking out due to the fact that we had attended an event on site the evening prior. The event was amazing, this review is solely for the accommodations, front desk staff, housekeeping and the Guest Service Manager! We woke at 11am and were downstairs checking out by 11:45. In that time the housekeeping supervisor came to our door- my husband let him know that we were unaware of the check out time and were just getting our things together. Then the second knock came, the maid, again my husband informed her we were packing up. No problem at all by her. A few minutes later our door was opened, no knock and in came the Male housekeeping supervisor! I was in my underwear!!!! He stood there, with the door wide open while my Husband had to yell 3 times for him to get out and close the door! Moments later the front desk called us to leave!!!! So, had I been thinking, I would have asked for a late checkout and none of this would have happened! I forgot! That said, we were harassed, intimidated and violated , all within 45 minutes!!!!! When I spoke with the Guest Service Manager, days later he tried to explain hotel procedure. No procedure's in anyway justifies our experience. He then indicated that he would provide a 50% discount on the room. I responded that it was not about the money, that the man that walked into our room without knocking, that was clearly trying to intimidate us should be reprimanded. So, he did not bother to apply the discount!!! Worst experience we have ever had !!!!!

Was in town for a Volleyball Tournament. Hotel was great. Room was great. They have a bar/bowling and a small arcade downstairs...which is really great for entertainment. Right off the highway...with lots of food options around hotel. Will always stay there when un the area.

Pros: Fast checkin, nice staff, clean room, fun (extra cost) coffee bar, attached to a really cool looking bowling alley and arcade. Decent size room. Pool felt warm, but had no time to use it or hot tub. Only 20 minutes to Niagara Falls. Cons: No free breakfast. Went downstairs to breakfast area and the waitress was overwhelmed, said it would be 45 minute wait. That’s too long at the start of the day. Would have spent all morning wasting time waiting instead of being a tourist. They need a buffet for times like that. Also elevator extremely busy in mornings. Hard to leave with luggage.

Just needed to crash for the night, and we will never be back. The room was not clean, and I found someone's clothes in the corner. Beds smell like pee, we ask for a quiet room as they had all kinds of rooms and they put us next to the elevator.

Room seemed nice until I woke up to a cockroach in our washroom. So there is never just one. Rooms are basic, nothing special but perfect for a short stay. Unfortunately, looks like they have a pest issue. I would be worried about eating at their restaurant since they were carting dishes past the first floor rooms from the roof restaurant.

Cons: Carpet everywhere, hallways are quite dark, room felt and is dirty, really need to clean the carpets or remove some dust because I woke up all sick, Everything is outdated, bathroom is renovated but dirty, found small weird bugs, they should also clean the elevators, but at least they work, walls are thin meaning you can hear neighbors and EVERYONE that passes in the hallway, there is this weird smell in the rooms and that typical weird smell in the entrance hall too. Might be psychological, but I feel like my body is itching. I would not come back because it is not a certified 4 stars like google reviews suggests and the price is definitively not worth it (at that point I'd pay cheaper for the same experience or double it for something certified). The customers there are something special too (weird stares, won't let you exit the elevator until they enter first, Pros: Great customer service, location meaning there are great activities near and good restaurants, good activites to do in the hotel. Note: As per usual, they do not take responsibility for anything that happens to your car. I wouldn't suggest paying extra for breakfast, it looked so little and not that great. Bowling and arcade seems to over shadow the hotel and make it seem good.

This is a central location in St Catherine's industrial area. To city centre is a few kilometres from the hotel. There are some restaurants in the area. Room is big enough. Bed is good. But it is a bit older room and hotel.

Decent hotel! Front desk was quick and easy to check in, room was clean and overall pretty comfortable. Two areas the hotel could improve is sound and elevators. Bothe easier said then done. The property only has 2 elevators, and they are on opposite sides of the building. Getting up to the rooms can be slow. Also the rooms were a bit loud. Overall though decent property with comfortable beds, and a good bathroom.

Hotel is unfortunately not ideal to stay when there are hockey teams staying for a tournament, but also not ideal for those families staying for hockey either. Sound travels just from flushing toilets and running showers, let alone the amount of people socializing. Desperately short of lobby areas for such large groups that want to gather - unless you want to go to the arcade/bowling/bar area the Parkway Social.. This part is a great addition to the hotel, but there’s only so long you can stay there without your kids spending your life savings. There is a wing of conference rooms but teams were not permitted I. No free breakfast, and the kids eats free deal is only valid if you’ve have no discounts on your room rate. They should be honest they’re not equipped to handle hockey teams!

The conference centre has had a total makeover and looks great. The manager bent over backward to help us meet all the needs for the meeting that we had there. I also ate dinner there, and the food was terrific. Give the chicken a try. It was exceptional as were the appetizers. A definite recommend!!

This was a good hotel. Great price for a 1 bedroom suite (a must for us when we travel with our 2 kids) and overall I am very happy. There were a couple of small things to nitpick but overall we were quite happy with our stay. I was impressed that breakfast was not the typical continental fare but an actual sit down meal. Only 4 choices but those choices covered the typical basic breakfast choices and the food was good. Well worth the $11/day upcharge for 4 people. I would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

Covid restrictions carried a little to far. Bowling all told me I had to sit while I drank, not stand at the bar. Tried booking thru hotel directly but after numerous attempts wouldn't answer there phones. Was trying for a special weekend with my girlfriend. Finally called a 1 800 # on the Google page and just found out I was charged in US funds. Usually love it here. But fast not becoming a fan. Just got off phone with, won't mention a name but pretty much told me. Not my problem. Thanks was thinking of doing valentines there to propose. But no thanks.

The Niagara Corvette Club had our Christmas party on Saturday at the Holiday Inn. Our entire experience was amazing. The room was decorated with such a festive theme, the food was exceptional and the service was above and beyond. A special Thank You to Vicki, Angelo, Tom, and Mike for making our event so special. Highly recommend this Holiday Inn location.

An average Holiday Inn. Staff were helpful and pleasant. The entry way is lovely, and the Socal Bowl (Restaurant, Arcade, Bowling Alley) is conveniently accessible from the lobby. The suites are large with all the amenities, however slightly dated. Some overhead lighting in both the bedroom area with the desk, and the kitchenette would be helpful. It would have been helpful if some type of dish soap, or a disposable dishcloth were available. My stay was five days and I chose prepare some meals in the kitchen (even if such items were only placed in suites that were booked for multiple days) I was told my room would not be cleaned during the stay, which also meant I had to ask for extra garbage bags, a couple extra coffee and another shampoo. (The cafe inside the hotel didn't open until 7 a.m. which is why I requested extra coffee, I had to leave to be at work by 7.) The hot tub was out of order and unable to be used, but the pool and sauna were open and were appreciated but they also fall on the dated side of things. The locker/shower/toilet/ set up in the ladies change room was somewhat awkward. My bed was clean and comfortable, as was the bathroom. I did however find a black sock on the dark coloured carpet from a previous occupant (hence the recommendation for overhead lights) and in the sitting area, a notice about new years eve behavior that must have fell behind the TV three months prior (I only peeked behind the TV because I thought there was a loose cable) The baseboards and behind the TV in the sitting area probably had been overlooked for longer than they should have been. The suite could use a thorough cleaning but the high touch/ high use areas were clean enough. Overall an average stay. Nothing amazingly spectacular or devastatingly terrible.

Currently staying here and am compelled to write this review. Staff are friendly (front desk, our maintenance guy was the best!) however this hotel ultimately was a disappointment for our group. The hot tub was cold. Our room had a lingering dirty plastic glass that was not ours. The worst experience was at the restaurant attached to the bowling alley. From the difficulty enacting their “kids eat free” policy to having to get our own menus, to ultimately waiting for over 40 minutes for our drinks. 15 of those minutes, I watched them sit on the bar while the server walked by them 15 times. We had 3 children with us so typical etiquette is to get the children fed however this was not the case. We ended up cancelling our order entirely (a first for all of us) and ordering from Boston Pizza who rushed our order and had it on our table in 13 mins, thank you Megan. 5 stars for Boston Pizza!

Planned a last minute Birthday outing with family for a fun time out. Loved the VIP bowling experience along with the Lazer tag and endless amount of arcade games! Great atmosphere, tasty food, and excellent service. See you again!

I am an IHG platinum member and generally enjoy the Holiday Inns. I had stayed here once before and had a bad experience but decided to give them another try - every business can have an off day. Sadly they were not only unable to redeem themselves, they cemented my opinion and under no circumstances would I ever stay there again. To start with they were not even close to full but I was given the room right next to the elevator shaft - the room they should only ever give out when nothing else is left. I went downstairs and had them change it which they did very ungraciously. The next day I went out and came back in the evening to find there had been no housekeeping at all. When I called down to ask for housekeeping they told me that for safety reasons associated with COVID they now only did housekeeping between guests. Something they should have mentioned when I checked in. I asked them to at least come and empty the garbage and they took it away and never brought me a new can. Also when I checked out the next morning I saw that none of the housekeeping staff were wearing masks - so for safety reasons they couldn’t come and clean my room between nights, but meanwhile when they did go into rooms they were taking no precautions to prevent any spread of infection. Also not cleaning rooms appeared to be the sole COVID measure in effect which suggests it was likely more about cost savings than safety. The rooms themselves are old and dark, the TV has the smallest number of channels I have ever seen and even though there’s a restaurant downstairs, there’s no room service. The staff are disinterested and do the bare minimum. I will not stay there again.

Terrible experience was given room with actual key and asked for a rollaway cot left hotel to attend event. Upon returning was asked twice for spare change going across parking lot. Returned to room to find cot delivered but another room key left in my door so anyone could have entered our room while we were gone nothing stolen thankfully but totally unacceptable. Security of my belonging must not mean much to them

The rooms were nice clean and beautiful abd the hotel has a lot of fun family activities such as bowling arcade swimming and laser tag. The restaurant has a fabulous menu and the food is delicious with kid friendly options. Would love if it had more kid friendly options though. The staff were super friendly, sweet, informed snd welcoming. We went for my girls pageant and the conference room it was in was wonderful. Truly a great hotel and will definitely ho back again one day.

Amazing! So clean! So fun. Only thing i would suggest would be 2 people at desk for arcade...took a while to get tickets 🎟 but its all good it was sooo fun for my boys grade 8 grad trip celebration 💖 So cool to have swimming, bowling and arcade right inside the hotel!! Wow! Made lots of memories that'll last!

Room was fine but heater was very noisy. Check out was 11am and key cards stopped working at 10:30am.... Twice. Hair in my food at the restaurant. Rates were wrong on checkout and no manager available to address. Expensive 3 nights (almost $800) for a poor experience.

Had a horrible experience with this hotel!!! Booked a room for 1 night since I was attending a wedding and half an hour after check in I got a call from a very unprofessional supervisor telling me my room had been cancelled and given away and was told I could rent at a sketchy hotel down the street instead. Called a week before to give them a new credit card from what I had originally booked the room on and was told by staff to give it at check in with no problems. Save your time and money and avoid this place

DO NOT BOOK YOUR WEDDING BLOCK HERE!!! This hotel and heart of Niagara ownership is absolutely horrible. They will offer you a free shuttle if you book 15 rooms for your wedding. Then never return or calls or emails when you try to actually coordinate the shuttle. A week before our wedding they asked us to move our guests to the best western after we had been trying to get ahold of someone for a week regarding the shuttle. We were told we would get a free upgrade to the suite for our wedding and we were charged the full amount of the suite. They will not return calls or emails. The hotel itself is awful. Dirty. It smells. Rooms haven’t been cleaned well. There was some sort of water leak in our room which they did nothing about. I wouldn’t recommend anyone stay at any of their hotels ever.

Staff were great, but the whole place needs a renovation. Old carpets, old wallpaper, and bathroom fixtures about 5 years past their best before date. Wouldn't be in my top 5 to stay in around that area.

  • 1/5 Jeff 4 months ago on Google • 1 review
We booked the hotel for a hockey tournament and chose that hotel cause it had a pool. Renovations were not to be started during our stay and when we arrived on the Thursday night we were told that pool was under construction. So now we are going to have 13 eleven year old boys with nothing to do in between games and after dinner. When I asked the front desk if they could do anything for us in regards to having no pool. I was told to load all the boys up and drive to the sister hotel which is a 15 min drive and use the pool there. Long story short. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. I do not recommend this hotel.
