Living out on the West coast, I haven't had the opportunity to sup a cuppa Joe at one of their coffee houses. However, I'm an advocate of their fair-trade, organic coffee range for both hot and cold beverages we have available here. I have tried their roast coffee beans multiple times which are awesome. I managed to snag a six pack of their cold brew in a store, completely new and again phenomenal! Super tasty, down to earth and minimal fuss coffee grade. All with fully recyclable packaging makes this a fantastic experience. Support small and local businesses!

Coffee was delicious! Pastries looked amazing :) Super busy so you will likely need to wait for your fresh brew!

Check out this amazing artistry! What a special touch! Thank you. Enjoyed many drinks while visiting family. We took it to go with a lemon scone on a walk along the lake. Another day we sat in the sunny back patio with the cute little birds.

Very comfortable coffee shop. My cappuccino is $4.45, personally, I prefer the cappuccino served in a coffee cup instead of a paper cup in this nice coffee shop.

I travel to this town in the morning and I find breakfast after enjoying the sunrise aside the Ontario lake. The cafe is cozy and the food is good. I am jealous of people who are living in such a lovely town.

Balzac at the Niagara-on-the-Lake is one of my favorite coffee houses! Their coffees and Cappuccinos are just perfect and so are their sweet treats. The service is friendly, attentive and helpful. Though the place is quaint but welcoming, there are plenty of tables and seating outside. Here are some photos:

The coffee scent and wonderful interior gives a good impression at the moment you enter the cafe. I love this place.

Had the iced matcha and iced latte- there was nothing special with the drinks. Typical basic taste. Servers were friendly and nice but disorganized. Had to remind them of another item in my order that they missed. Cute decor inside. There’s not a lot of munchies available if you want to pair your drink with some pastries or sweets

This is probably the nicest coffee shop in the area with seating inside and outside. The espresso was outstanding. I had a chocolate croissant which I gave back after 1 bite as it was reslly stale. I'm not sure where they are made and how old it was but it was awful. The staff were very friendly and offered me a slice of cake instead. The cake was really fresh and really good.

Lovely little shop. The pastries were excellent and the coffee was fresh. Highly recommend the Latte Canadien, great presentation all around.

This coffee shop is an absolute gem! From their delectable seasonal drinks to their unbeatable iced matcha lattes, it's a coffee lover's paradise. One thing that sets this place apart is their commitment to crafting amazing beverages. With each change of the season, you can look forward to exciting new flavors that never disappoint. The creativity in their drink offerings is truly impressive, making every visit an adventure for the taste buds. If you're a coffee aficionado, or simply someone who appreciates a fantastic drink, this coffee shop is a must-visit. They consistently deliver delightful surprises in a cup, and you won't be disappointed. It's my go-to spot for satisfying my coffee cravings, and I can't recommend it enough!

If you come to Niagara on the lake. They have the best cafe latte in own. Must try. Fresh and tasty croissants as well!

Stopped in at Balzac’s and couldn’t believe how busy it was inside, all seating was taken and line was all through the store! Decided on picking up a couple bags of coffee to take home and skipped the coffee and sweets they offer in store. Made myself a few cups of the anniversary blend and am not disappointed! Excellent beans and can’t wait to try the Balzac’s blend once I run the bag of anniversary through my machine. Will be back earlier on the weekend or during the week to try their in store coffee and sweets next time I need to purchase beans!

It's a nice coffee shop and they sell their own roasted coffee in several varieties both beans and ground. We buy Balzac's regularly at Costco however this was the first time we stopped for a brewed coffee at one of their shops. The coffee was a light roast and good, one of 4 choices at that time. Staff were delightful.

Really delicious coffee in a cute French themed space right in the center of Niagara-on-the-Lake (literally around the corner from the Prince of Wales Hotel). Lines were long on a Sunday morning but servers were lightning fast. I tried the lemon cranberry scone and a large caramel latte which were both delicious. The one disappointment was the size of the “large” latte was only about 12 ounces and the cost was quite high for the amount of coffee received. It’s not the best value for the money - but it is definitely the best coffee I’ve had in the area. As a splurge (and because I desperately needed caffeine) I would probably do it again, but it’s not going to be worth it on the daily. Note: be careful of the very steep steps and low beam on the way to and from the restrooms in the basement (which were very clean) the top step is significantly higher than the rest.

Chose this place to start our NOTL adventure day. Quaint and charming. Loved the vibe! Sat under the umbrellas in the back garden while we planned our day. The girl at the counter was wonderfully nice and inviting. Great way to start our fun day!

We were so grateful that one of our favorite coffee places was here for us to enjoy! Alot of tables to enjoy, and our beverages were so good. The cookies we bought on one of our visits were fresh and delicious! My only negative is that the staff must have been tired. It's a very busy place, and the girls were never smiling or welcoming any time we were there.......It must be very difficult to deal with so many different people, and never ending needs and wants?!

Cute place to take a break from all the cute little shops. Coffee is mediocre, but doable.

  • 4/5 Pardis A. 1 year ago on Google
I didn’t expect the drinks to be served in single-used cups, other than that the place is nice but it would be great if they add some details to the main hall’s interior design.

Simply amazing! If you are in this town and if you love coffee, you cannot skip this place. They serve the best coffee in town and have the kindest people who make it. Anna served us and she made some amazing coffee and also we had fun chatting with her. Even the other hostess was very friendly. I tried the latte and it was toooo good. Highly recommended and see you soon!

Balzac’s never fails. Their coffee and staff are exceptional. The one in the distillery district is my go to, so it’s nice to see one here in NOTL. They didn’t have any pastries when I was there, which sucked. Only reason I took off a star.

Nice little place for decent coffee or lattes other than your neighborhood Starbucks. Interesting blue latte and wonderful chai latte (way better than SB). Loved their biscotti too.

Great coffee, cortado was well made with good texture. Cappuccino was good, prefer slightly drier foam but still good consistency.
