I have never been to this donut shop. I actually visited the newly opened location on Linwell and Grantham. I was excited to support a locally owned small business but the service was HORRIBLE!! There was only two other people in the store and they were speaking Russian or Polish with the owners or whoever those people working there and they just ignored me while their friends sampled meat from the deli. So naturally I went to Tim Hortons! They lost my business suffice to say!

Donuts are increible and very fresh. Totally worth the price. Staff are super friendly and helpful. No WiFi. Limited free parking out front. Bus stops out front of plaza. Walking distance to pier and park. Call in advance for custom or large orders. No credit card surcharge.

Absolutely the best Donuts and From-Scratch Hot Chocolate! I have been through over half of Canada and around 40 of the States and have not received the same level of quality anywhere, would definitely recommend Homestead to anyone I know. Take a chance you won't be disappointed!

I am really pleased that Homestead took over this former Tim's location. I've always liked the location, was really upset when Tim's left. Homestead is an excellent replacement, and they fit well with the feel of Port Dalhousie. They're a great addition to the area, and their donuts are terrific.

Came here for half a dozen donuts (walked 6 km), as we were being served the female employee in question saw a big group come in behind my partner and I, suddenly she was more focused on them and couldn't get our order of six donuts right even after I clarified myself for the second time. By the time I arrived back at our car I had realised she still didn't select all the right flavours I'd ordered. To the owners... don't hire people who lack enough competence to select 6 donuts, listen place them in a box, and stay focused on the customer at hand.

I visited homestead donuts on a busy Saturday at lunch time. They were lined up out the door and I waited half an hour for 2 donuts. They only had one person working in the whole store and she was complaining that she hadn't had a break since 5am. The price of the donuts went up 15% so an increase in minimum wage is no excuse for staff shortages. I will not be returning anytime soon.

Visiting From Ajax and decided to bring some donuts. Saw the shop and decided to stop in. Well to my surprise I was welcomed by Katie and I think in this time of COVID she was very friendly and was so patience with me as I wanted 1/2 dozen Donuts End up getting a Dozen. AMAZING customer service. Keep it up Katie. Thanks for making my Port Dalhousie visit a memorable

The donuts were great. But the service was terrible. I waited 10 minutes after getting my donut for my cappuccino. The lady continued to serve others. Coffees teas etc. Ignored us for the first few minutes. Then tells me that my cappuccino was “on its way”. I was trying to be patient and understanding but she made no effort what so ever to move towards the cappuccino machine. I waited a total of 10 minutes before I got tired of waiting. My family had left and I was just waiting. So I asked my my refund. She told me “oh I was just about to start making it”. Seriously. 10 minutes later and she had just decided to start making it. I won’t be returning. That’s for sure.

Coffee is okay...however, if you want an awesome and tasty donut, this is your stop! Grab a coffee and a donut ( or 2), and if the weather is good, the area around the shop is great for walking and enjoying your treat. You won't go wrong here. I think Homestead makes the finest donuts you will ever taste.

The opening of this new Homestead Bakery location is a great addition to the area. I have come here three times since they opened and I have found the coffee is good and the double chocolate donuts are very good and fresh. If you live in the area this is a great place to meet other locals and a great spot for a coffee in the morning.

went there on Monday. donuts were old dry and the chocolate was bitter burning my tongue. There was a group hooligans teens jumping on the tables pushing eachother and behave badly yet the employee did nothing even tho we asked her to quiet them down so we could enjoy coffee. I can see why beside us there was nobody coming by. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone go to tims.

Went to Homestead today around 1130. One person behind the counter serving. You would think they would staff a couple for today which is a Sunday. Waited and waited no service because she was making sandwiches for another customer. We left and a couple other customers left as well. Unfortunately we had to go to Tim Hortons and have our coffee and donut. Very disappointed in this location. Cheers

We just discovered your Homestead Donut shop in Port Dalhousie, on Lakeport Rd. I have lived in the Niagara area now for 11 years but was not aware of Homestead Bakery, because it was operating only wholesale, until 2017. I live in Heritage Village, Vineland, a retirement community of 700 seniors. We all remember how fresh donuts, tasted back in the 1960s and 70s: back when Tim Horton’s built their brand based on fresh, baked on site. I worked at a donut shop as a student, 57 years ago, and recognized all the donut types on display at Homestead. I was overwhelmed by nostalgia! Tim Horton's, after the original owner sold, switched to American-style factory pre-bake and cheaper ingredients. All their re-heated pastry products taste like week old leftovers. They don't deserve continued Canadian loyalty. I haven't tasted a real fresh donut in some 20 years: until today. Great new destination for us! Today's youth have little experience with what fresh donuts should taste like, based on quality ingredients and fresh daily baking. You need to open a donut shop near our retirement communities that are a growing demographic – with more sophisticated palates, the free time to enjoy a coffee & donut shop, but less mobility to travel. We need you!
