😠 No name cheese 400 grams on sale for 5.99???? I get name brand cheese on sale for 3.99 to 4.49. Another scam is buy 1 get 1 free. The prices are double at Sobeys so no deal at all. RIP-OFF. People often mention store, Sobeys, prices, time, staff, bags, deli, people, meat, selection,

Bakery should stay open for the customers to get whatever they want until the store's closing time, which is 10 pm. It doesn't make sense for the bakery to shut off early

For a high end full service store, there was no customer service. Elderly people come to have their groceries packed, not thrown to the end of the rollered belt. If I wanted to pack my own groceries and have to search the store because no clerks knew where a few items were, I could go to Food Basics or Freshco. A little disappointing at their prices.

Throughout the last year there's been multiple issues with this place. What's been long standing is them turning half their lights off 3 hours before closing and it is actually so dark and its hard to spot out items in aisles, even ones I normally get. Like seriously is this to save money for you guys on your utility bill or are you trying to warn people 3 hours early that you're closing????????? Also, I got food poisoning from a premade cheddar jalepeno burger from here (or something like that) and I called and spoke to the manager since he deals with these situations, and he told me I didn't cook it long enough. I'm not sure who this guy is but I know how to cook a hamburger as I've also made them homemade so many times. There comes a point when the meat has been sitting out too long or not in cool enough temperatures and then it not only multiplies exponentially on the outside, but seeps in deeper, especially in ground beef. He basically dismissed me. Also, there's often advertisment box stands of food blocking aisles and creating cart traffic jams.

Overpriced, but great store. Great selection, awesome staff, super clean, never an empty shelf. Always doing charity drives for the community. I would shop here more, but the really high prices prevent that.

Food was packed in bags when I asked for it not to be, each bag costs 15c now, and 2 of them ripped on the way to the car. the cashier charged me and said "sorry you already paid!" When I said why was I charged for bags I said no to. With the astronomical prices this store charges, you figure they'd give you bags for free, or even 5c like most other stores. Really makes me rethink shopping at sobeys altogether, they really just dont care about their consumers. 45c for bags I didnt want or ask for, and they ripped within 30 seconds of me leaving the store. What a joke. Save your money and shop at walmart or costco... not to mention a loaf of dempsters bread there costs 4.69 now... for 1 loaf... price gouging if I've ever seen it.

Prices are way too high for some reason. Same stuff you can get way cheaper at frescho, walmart, etc. The cashiers were friendly but store staff not so much especially the young man stacking bread at 10:30 am sept 16th. Kept trying to rush me out of the bread area so he can move things around I guess. I needed time to read ingridients as a mom of a kid with food sensitives I can’t just buy stuff without knowing what’s in it. His demeanor kinda upset me. I wasn’t trying to be in his way at all and kept apoligizing and moving towards the other side but yeah his body language and sighing was strange. Like not my fault the spaces are tight in your store. Other than that, not much products from other countries. Just plain jane canadian things at higher than normal prices to keep middle class people out I guess so rich people can shop in peace. Ya’ll enjoy being bougee and miserable in that store i’ll stick to the reasonabley priced stores where the rest of the hardworking people go too since we enjoy a good deal and are more than okay with other human beings also being around. Food basics is great so is freshco and walmart since they open late. Most likely will never go to this store again.

LAURA at the Bakery is so patient and kind. With everything falling together last minute, she helped me to order a birthday cake for my mothers 65th bday! Thank you!! 🎂

Great staff at this store always so nice. Need to improve their self check outs though. They. just got new self checkouts and they are worse than the ones they had before. Stores need to get over the scales and bagging at self check out when they don't work. I had to wait for the staff member to reset my till 4 times. First when you put your bags on the scale you hit a button then you have to wait for them to verify your bags. Then three times I put the item in the bag and it did not think I bagged it. It wouldn't be as bad if the staff member stayed in the self checkout area but she kept walking away so I had to keep finding someone to come over and reset it. The scale is not stopping anyone from stealing, especially if staff just hit the button and don't check. Just turn the scales off and let the self check outs run smoothly.

I visited Sobey Glendale yesterday around 2pm and I was looking for specific sweetener, but I couldn't find. Mike was helping me to find that stuff, however it was not in stock at that moment, while later I was keep shopping the other things, and Mike finally found that sweetener from back and bring over to me. I really appreciate to your warm and genuine associates Mike! It was great customer experience. Outstanding! Thanks Mike!

Nice layout, the produce section is expansive and without linear aisles, which makes jam ups more avoidable. More difficult for the first time experience, but once you’ve made a few visits, I think this would allow for quicker access, if you know what you’re looking for. Sobeys seems to be a little pricier than the equivalent chain grocery store, but I also find the quality better. Only anecdotally, but the produce seems fresher, and with more variety, as do the other time sensitive staples. Definitely a clean and modern space. We will definitely return.

Excellent sushi selection when you get there early. A bit more pricey than average but great diverse selections of groceries to choose from.

Foodland has a much better deli, Zehrs has a much better selection and quality of meat, Basics has overall much better pricing. Two of the only redeeming qualities of this Sobeys is they take Scene and they're closest to us. Sometimes it's worth it to shop here but often the extra trip elsewhere is preferable. Usually, we only shop here when there's good deals in their flyer, which admittedly is quite often. I know COVID has caused a lot of prices to creep higher and higher, but it's no excuse when a competing grocer has prices 15-20% cheaper and pretty much across the board for the exact same thing. In many cases, my local convenience store is cheaper. I have to single out the meat quality as quite poor, in particular beef. Even before COVID, we would get the same cuts of beef and have noticed the quality plummet to rock bottom. It is very sinewy and tough, irrespective of how we cook it. Every now and then, we try their beef again, hoping it has improved, but it never does; we normally need to discard most beef we buy here because it's got to the point of offensive.

I was pleasantly surprised, I won a $50 gift card for Sobeys. So I went shopping there for the first time. The prices were reasonable and the store was well sto ked and clean.

Visited on June 7/2023 (approximately 11:30 a.m.). I work the night shift. Coming home, I stopped off at my local Sobeys, to pick up a few beers. I usually use the self-checkout machine, but for whatever reason, today I decided to go to a cashier. Some old man with glasses (Ken or Kendall) rings up the sale & says : "Wow. Drinking early, eh?" Fortunately, Sobeys has numerous security cameras, otherwise....it would've been a problem.

I was at Glendale Sobeys today March 4th. I went in specifically looking to have a meat tray made. I got into the store at 11:00am and went straight to the deli. As I stood there for 10min, with approximately 8 staff members between the hot foods, cheese and the deli. The lady standing right beside me filling the cheese finally went into the cooler to notify the deli clerk that she had someone waiting. When the deli clerk came out of the cooler she asked what she could do for me. I explained to her in these exact words, “ I’m in dire need of your largest meat tray for 12:30”. Instead of asking one of the other employees to give her a hand, She looked at me like I had 4heads and replied “ oh no we need 24hrs” Again there had to have been 8 people on. I said to her that’s fine I will go elsewhere. As soon as I got into the parking lot and into my car, I looked up ANTIPASTOS, called them, I said the exact same words”dire need” she asked me when I needed it by and I told her 1 hour. She replied no problem it will be ready for 12:30. It was a 90.00 meat platter and it was ready when I walked in at 12:15. ANTIPASTOS was very accommodating unlike Sobeys @ Glendale ave. The woman at Sobeys should have taken the time to at least see IF it could have been done instead of saying oh no we need 24hrs notice. As this is something I would have done being a former deli clerk of this store when it first opened. I now know where where to go and not to go.

The food is all super fresh and the produce and meats looks awesome. Best seafood selection I've seen. Walked in for cupcakes (on a recommendation), walked out with over $100 of hot fresh foods, breads and great deals.

I am a big fan of Sobeys bakery items. They always have fresh bakery foods. Carry various seafood as well. Often have good deals on everydays items and foods. Well organized store. Friendly staff. And the cashier named Tina was really very helpful and cooperative. Lots of parking.

I went to the Sobeys on Sunday evening, they are open until 10pm. I wanted to get some lunch meat from the deli counter .When I got there the girl working told me she was closed, that when it's quiet they close the deli at 8pm. So I looked at my watch and it was 8:02. She wouldn't serve me because it was 2 minutes after 8. I guess she was in a hurry to get out of there. Poor customer service!

Fantastic Store with Amazing Staff!!! Today was the first time I went to this store and I was nothing short of impressed. Impressed with the all the selection choices in every department. Impressed how in each department all the staff were friendly and helpful. Impressed with the cleanliness of the store. Impressed with the comparable prices with other stores. Impressed that the manger Jason, I believe his name is took time out of his day to talk to me . This store is the exemplar for how every grocery store should be. Keep up the Great Work!!!! People do notice!!!! Thank You!!!

I had to stop going to Sobeys as it was irritating trying to check out. Cashiers over stuffing your bags, too heavy, even though I said use as many bags as needed. Self checkouts to sensitive, always having to call a cashier over. How to pack should be a big priority. Every time I would go there a different cashier, everyone over stuffs the bags.

🫤 Too expensive. Right across from Walmart supercenter. Identical prepackaged goods ranging in cost from $4-10 were shockingly an average of $1-3 more expensive than Walmart. There has to be a limit to corporate greed. I guess they are still in business because of shoppers that do not care or don't...

👍 Store is good. The only this is...the older cashier at the express checkout gave me an eye when I put my items to pay. She thought I have more than 16 items (express checkout is for 1 up to 16 items). I have only 12 items. She seemed not happy & ddn't even smile.
