Green Ribbon Trail

Hiking area

πŸ‘πŸ‘ This is a nice place for a walk, easily accessible, and for photographers, there's an abundance of wildlife around to exercise your shutter button. There is a fairly resident great blue heron that I've managed some decent photos of. Seems like he enjoys showing off for the camera. πŸ˜€ People often mention walk, trail, nice, wildlife, Great, short, fishing, people, water,

Great place for a tiny beautiful 15 minute covid safe wedding. Topped off with a nice family of swans. Parking is very tight and will require huge excellent driving skills. So try to park closer to the entrance in the parkinglot unless you have a smart for two car.

It's a small park with nice and natural environment. Good for fishing. You can see turtles, frogs, and ducks. Also, there are lots of lotuses.

This trail is perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature. It's not a long trail for walking, but it is peaceful for short walks under 1km to sit and observe nature and people passing by. It really is relaxing. The benches are nicely spaced out for privacy, and the trees provide the shade you need on those hotter days. Depending on where you choose to sit.

Great spot for Port Dalhousians (particularly Cole Farm-ers) to walk to for a little downtime with mother nature. At this time of year, the fishing people and the skating people are all outta luck and outta sight, so it's a great location for those of us only interested in a little solitude, maybe a little bird watching. Speaking of which, take a little Tupperware container full of bird seed with you; you may be lucky enough to have a chickadee or three eat out of your hand, or at least off the cement pad under your park bench, of which there are plenty on which to sit and chill (literally) or just figuratively if the sun is shining. It's a great spot to sit and check your email, or text messages, or just work on your mental to-do list for when you get home with your fresh outlook! If only the City would put a walkway down one side of 3rd Street or the other, it wouldn't be quite as dodgy getting from Main St. down to Old Martindale and the park entrance. Enjoy! (Oh, and regardless of the season, please DO put your coffee cup in one of the garbage cans provided; thanks!)

The Green Ribbon Trail is a hidden gem. Bring your canoes and kayaks to experience the full extent of the beautiful views, including blue herons, turtles, and jumping fish (to name a few).

Great place for a stroll, has parking best for smaller vehicles. Nice view of the water. Not too busy. Short walking trail but enjoyable when ducks are in the water.

It's very short, and the noice from the highway can be heard. People come mostly for fishing.

Nice walk. Goes past the pond and wetlands where you can view and enjoy birds and turtles. Can also fish in this location.

If you love birds, come here with binoculars and some birdseed. This is an amazingly beautiful trail with such diverse wildlife. So many amazing things to see.

Amazing place.. time to walk and relax here.. quite place but parking lot is very limited, I think there are only 8 spots or so. There is a hige slope when you enter the place so probably is not very accessible for some people. Enjoy

One of Niagara’s best kept secrets β€” this place turns into a winter wonderland when the pond freezes over… ice skating, pond hockey rinks, an ice fishing village, and my favourite… XC ski!! ⛷️

Not sure what has changed, but the lily pads don't seem to exist anymore. There really isn't much of an area for walking.

Very cute trial, nice and short for pictures. To small for A actual walk, with a big dog it took us 10 minutes to walk the path there and back. Pretty though. Would be perfect to the wildlife.

This was a nice venue at one time but 2017 has not been kind to it, it seems to be pretty neglected at times until someone complains. A pity as we had lots to photograph at one time.

Beautiful walking trail. A small area to do a little fishing. Lots of garbage can, but people don't seem to know how to use them. Biggest complaint, no where to go to the bathroom.

this place used to be so great. the water flow has been cut off at the bridge and it is now stagnant smelly water. wildlife has been greatly reduced including lack of swans, turtles and frogs...so sad. Used to like to fish here but not anymore. I hope it is a temporary blockage of water flow but it didn't appear to be very sad.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Nice trail which leads out to the canal entrance for the ships coming in from Lake Ontario. Would be an ideal spot to view the ships coming into the canal if that’s your thing. Nice bench to view the lake near the light house at the end of the trail.
