If I could give these guys 100 stars, I would! I’m new to kayaking. A city boy who needed help in every way. I can’t even begin to express how amazing it is to walk into a store and immediately have the fear of intimidation go out the window. Every single person working that I spoke to was welcoming, informative, helpful and NOT pushy. From the young lad (jeez I’m getting old) who sold me my kayak and paddle to another gentleman who spent a ton of time with me when I picked it up. I got the setup for the car but had no idea how to secure the kayak properly. These guys sorted me out completely. Spent extra time talking about different options I had for securing the kayak. It was incredible. If you are new or experienced I urge you to come here. I will make the drive from Toronto for a $5 item because I know I will get to talk it out with someone who cares and will clearly explain all my options. Even if you are just curious, go to this store and talk to anyone! I guarantee it will be an informative and respectful experience.

I phoned a few places looking for two kayaks, and Outdoor Oriented were the most helpful over the phone. Went in the next day and was very happy with the helpful advice. I picked up my Delta 14 kayak from Outdoors Oriented over a year ago. I love the kayak and I loved the purchasing experience. From "Paddle day" when I got to try few different kayaks, to making decision, purchasing, delaying pick up (as I was travelling) then finally picking it up and securing it on the roof rack, all staff and Jamie were very helpful, knowledgeable and patient. I am looking to purchase Delta 16 now as the 14 is really also enjoyed by my son and it is impossible to keep up with him using our venerable Pelican. I hope Delta 16 will become available shortly, as they are currently out of stock .

Its got your basics for outdoor stuff but if you want or need variety then this is not the spot. Never had an issue finding anything I the store great customer service. But for you hard core people that enjoy walking around and takeing the time not really a store for you always worth a check out tho!!

I urgently needed a key piece of equipment for a trip that was coming up in a few days. I called outdoors oriented to see how fast they could get it to me. I was pleased to hear that they ship with purolator and that the item would arrive in Toronto the next day. Shipping was free (for orders over $50) and I received the product less than 24 hours after placing the order. This is my new go to outdoors gear store. Definitely recommend!

I have bought lots of Vibram shoes from here. Very disappointed to know they won't be carrying them anymore. It was the only place locally I liked to shop for them.

This store has loads of gear and they have a section of slightly used. A bit pricier than I’d like to see but is fully stocked nonetheless.

Picked up my brand new Delta 15s on Saturday. Loved the kayak and the service but was very disappointed to find a huge Outdoor Oriented.com logo on the kayak applied asking. I spent all of Sunday researching how to remove the sticky logo without damaging the kayak. Ended up having to buy sovent to remove it. Not the best experience. Nobody wants to put solvent on their brand new expensive kayak.

I needed a new PFD and wanted to buy something made in Canada, and ideally local to me. I discovered Salus (based in Waterloo) and Outdoors Oriented was one of few stores I could find that had them in stock. My only regret is that it didn't occur to me to buy directly (bought through Amazon) - I could have contacted Outdoors Oriented directly and better supported a Canadian business. My PFD arrived sooner than the earliest estimated arrival date, was in perfect condition, and very well packed. I would absolutely shop here again. Thank you!

I ordered a few items from a different store and two days later they informed me that they were out of stock of a Wildy sprayskirt I had requested. I immediately went online and found it on Amazon at Outdoors Oriented. I placed my order and received it within 48 hrs - before the other outfitter had even sent out my original order. Next time I'll go straight to Outdoors Oriented to begin with and save myself some time. Wish I'd known about them earlier. Very impressed.

Amazing customer service, extremely detailed oriented, professional and friendly staff. A representative named Rachel who works their at the front desk is incredibly kind, answered all my inquires and offered solutions to my issues regarding a Thule rack and the cross bars. She went out of her way to ensure I was taken care of. It's amazing to know that workers out there still love what they do and it certainly shows with Rachel. Can't say enough about this business! I went into this store on August 25th/2020 during this plandemic and it was so much easier than I thought it would be. I LOVED the store and Alex helped me find every item on my list. Hi everyone. I just want to write a short thank you note to Jamie and his staff. I also drove a long distance to pick up my new tent. I did this because the local big box retailer with four letters to its name was no help to me, and they are just 2 km from me. Shop here for quality products from a retailer who wants your business, and they are family owned and operated. That is not easy to do in Ontario.

I ordered a screen tent and was amazed by how quickly it shipped. It was picked up by Purolator on the same day that I placed the order and it arrived at my door the next day (Sault Ste. Marie, ON). THEN, unfortunately there was a manufacturing defect with the screen tent and within another business day, Jamie had a new one on the way and had arranged for the defective one to be shipped back at their expense. I was told not to worry, they would handle everything, then file a claim through the manufacturer for me. In my experience, they responded to my emails within minutes, not hours or days. Absolutely THE BEST customer service I have seen in a long time!!! I will be shopping again with them again!!!!

I had an amazing sales experience with Outdoors Oriented. This business is located in St. Catharines, Ontario. I am located in Vancouver, BC and needed a specific camp stove within 2, maximum 3 days. Although I did have a hard time getting a hold of them a few times (I assume they are quite busy), when I did the service I received was nothing short of exceptional. I was told to send an email to Jamie, in order for them to send me a 'shopping cart' with a customized, express shipping option so I could get my item as soon as possible. Within minutes odf sending the email off to Jami, I received a detailed response on how to proceed, and a specific timeline which I needed to follow in order to have my item shipped out first thing in the morning the next day. I checked out and paid for my order. Not long after I recieved a confirmation email and the next morning I recieved an email stating that my order had been shipped with the tracking number provided. I dealt primarily with Jamie via email and Cheryl (I think?) over the phone. Both employees offered excellent service, I got my item right on time and couldnt be more satisfied with the experience. I was referred to Outdoors Oriented by Kayak Ontario. I reached to these guys last week. I was on the hunt for two kayaks for my daughter's ages 7 and 8. They didnt have what I was looking for in stock. So they ordered it for me. What I really like. They didn't try and push another product on me. They were really responsive and pleasant to deal with. The price was fair. I knew this because I did my research. I give this company 5 stars. They are worth the five stars.
