Dr. Ho is amazing and has been helpful since my very first visit. However I don’t know what’s going on with reception but it’s always the worst experience having to call there. I received a message they wanted me to make an appointment and when I finally got through after a few days of trying I told them my work schedule and asked if they would have anything that fit around it and she said ‘no this is a doctors office we only work regular hours’ as if I’m supposed to just know what that means. Then tried to pressure me into threatening my work so they would give me time off for an appointment they never even told me the purpose of. Like I said I love my doctor, but trying to get in contact is becoming so difficult that going to a walk in just seems so much simpler. I used to be able to send her a message on the Patient portal but even that has been taken away now and I can only email reception

I'm really surprised by the negative reviews here - I've had nothing but fantastic experiences with this health team! My family doctor (Dr Elliott) is great, and all the staff at the clinic have always been super helpful and friendly. I've never had an issue getting through to a receptionist or being able to book an appointment. I've also been super impressed with how the clinic is run during COVID - the waiting room is generally empty, the wait times are minimal, and I've always felt totally safe. Overall very happy with this health team and my family doctor!!

We moved here for our doctor who is absolutely incredible. The communication and front end staff is absolutely atrocious. Appointments not allowed same day even though they have them available, no understanding to concerns raised, $225 for a family to now use the portal to try and communicate with your doctor. Stay away from this office, the scheduling system is awful. We love our doctor but this is just awful service from the front desk!

The attitude reception always gives on the phone is unprofessional. When you go into see your doctor there will be 3 receptionist doing nothing but talking. Now you have to pay to communicate to your doctor on the portal and for them do prescription renewal since it’s such a burden for them to do their job. Stay away save yourself from paying for bad service for free health care. This ain’t the states.

Terrible. The receptionists won't be bothered to answer the phones for half the day and you have to listen to 5 minutes of useless information before speaking to someone but they apparently don't think mentioning that they CHANGED LOCATIONS is important enough to add in. Since I didn't know the location was changed, I also had no idea that you have to pay to get out of their parking lot and I didn't bring money with me. I asked for parking validation from the niagara north receptionist who told me they don't do that and to talk to the pathstone receptionists for that. I talked to her and she told me to ask the niagara north receptionist. I explained they've been giving me the run around and the pathstone lady was nice enough to help me out. Worst doctors office I would not recommend simply because of the receptionists attitude and unwillingness to help.

I'm a new patient there, had my first appointment today (Dr. Elliott). I was very impressed overall with the whole experience. I walked in the staff was very friendly and nice. Sat down for maybe 1 full minute and was called into room. I was a little nervous as it is a new doctor who doesn't know me. And Dr. Elliott killed it. Very nice kind, and when doing his procedure. He explained everything to me. My experience was outstanding and loving the new doctor.

The person who answers the phone is very rude. I have asked her to listen to what I was trying to explain, and she put me on hold and forgot about me. What an attitude.

This clinic is awesome. Quick appointments, able to use the walk in if necessary, and once had to call the Dr. on Christmas Day. Dr's and staff are all fantastic. We are so pleased we got in here after our familybDr of 40 yrs retired.

I cannot say enough good things about this clinic. We were fortunate enough to get a spot when they relocated, and our doctor, Dr. Yurkewich is amazing, and when she went on maternity leave, her replacement, Dr. Ovens was fantastic as well. I know it can be difficult to get a hold of the reception, but I have yet to encounter a single family doctor office that doesn't have this problem, and the portal is a great substitute. I have a toddler who is always coming down with something and we are always able to get an appointment the day of.

Just called to inquire about how to be a patient here. The receptionist was awful. She cut me off, told me they aren't taking patients, no one in the city is and to call back in June when we "might" revisit taking patients and then hung up on me mid-conversation. Let me just say this, I do the same type of work as this individual and NEVER would I treat someone so disrespectfully, no matter how busy I may be. This just causes more stress to people already concerned about their health to begin with. Based on other reviews here, I see many have had the same issues with the people who are the initial voice for this facility. Please rest assured that not all people who are the first point of contact in medical offices are so insensitive and disrespectful.

Doctor Chow was easily the best doctor experience I’ve ever had. She was informative and thorough. She made me feel very comfortable and she even had a student with her! It was my first time stepping into that building. It was warm, clean and welcoming. Checking in was a breeze and the appointment didn’t feel rushed. She was very clear and conscious with her instructions. It was a perfect example of how our healthcare should be.

I’m a new patient. The front staff was pleasant ,very accommodating and knowledgeable.I only had to wait 10 minutes and when I was with my doctor I was never rushed and felt unimportant. It was a great and non-stressful experience.

I love my doctor, Dr. Chow, but the current front desk staff is very unprofessional and seems to lack training. The wait times on the phones are insane, and I have had to wait five minutes before someone could find me in the computer system, after I had spelled my last name three times. Also, no urgent care option and the phones are closed on Wednesday afternoons. What is up with that? It used to be a much better place.

I had C Section in January and it was successfully done by Dr. Cappelletti and her team since then she is me and my family’s family doctor. She is such a humble person whenever we need any help we call office and get help sorted within hour . If we need any prescriptions or any suggestion health myself portal is so helpful as we can talk to our family doctor and her team who is available. Thanks for your services and your help

What this office doesn’t understand about the no walk in clinic policy is that it doesn’t just stop me from going to a walk in clinic with an acute illness rather than seeing them, it prevents me from being able to see a doctor for anything. When my work hours are the exact same as the offices hours, I cannot schedule an appointment with my doctor. I can’t use their urgent care clinic when it’s a problem that has been ongoing for several months. Even when I have some vacation time and try to see the doctor, I end up being pawned off to a nurse practitioner or physicians assistant. Being pawned off on another staff member wouldn’t be a problem if they didn't brush off every problem I’ve ever brought to them. It's almost like I don't have access to a doctor at all sometimes and I end up suffering. It’s unfortunate that the office is so bad because the times I have seen an actual doctor, they are great. My family doctor is Dr. Yurkewich but I also saw Dr. Ovens while Dr. Yurkewich was away and I have seen Dr. Chow before. All of these doctors were excellent, I would follow Dr. Yurkewich if she left Niagara North. The reception staff is so hard to get ahold of and some of them are so rude. I talked to someone today and she was very friendly, it isn't all of them, but some of them are so snippy and rude for no reason. I used to just use the portal because getting ahold of the office by phone is next to impossible, but I will absolutely not be paying for that

I can’t even believe my mom went in for an appointment today and due to her doctor misdiagnosing her for 5 years and messing up paperwork it made her inquire about another doctor, so they take her in for her appointment do everything then someone comes in and says you’re no longer a patient here, but no one called to cancel her appointment but they swiped her healthcard which means they got paid, but if you miss an appointment you have to pay them, but they have no problem wasting your time. I didn’t know that you could lose your doctor because you inquired about another one because your doctor wasn’t doing his job. So disappointed that with her health issues she had no doctor for the time being. For a facility that makes mental health a priority, it clearly wasn’t today to cause that much anxiety in a patient.

I had to see Dr Chow for a pap and IUD removal. Wow. She is the best experience I have ever had regarding pap smears. She was gently and warned me at the right moment of discomfort. She was honestly the best experience I have had, with something women need to do regularly. Great for people doing this for the fist time.

Terribly unprofessional front desk staff. Clearly prioritize making money over patient welfare. Brought my sick child in (i am a new patient and already went in for my consultation and he had yet to because of school commitments but is still registered as a patient) he has a horrible barking cough that is not going away. I made an appointment and they informed me it was a-go. Upon arrival they notified me it was mysteriously cancelled. All because my child did not have this initial consultation. This is a very sad state of affairs. Ended up having to wait an hour and a half at a walk in clinic after losing 40 dollars on cab fare.

I give 3 stars because I love Dr. Zammit, but the people they use for their answering service are brutal. Sooooooo rude! I work at a Dr.'s office myself at the front desk, answering phone calls all day, and I could never imagine being so bitter. The front desk staff are also not interested in even looking in your direction, and seem annoyed that they even have to help you. Not sure whats going on here?

I haven't had many poor experiences with this team in the 6+ years I've been seeing them, until recently. It seems that everytime I try and book an appointment the phone system goes to voicemail everytime (even trying non stop for several hours). Their message indicates they don't check voicemail. Online you can't book appointments less than a month out. It's very concerning when you're 7 months pregnant, and the symptoms you're having aren't necessarily an emergency, but still something you should have checked sooner rather than later. Now I am going to clog a seat in Emerg that was unnecessary simply because I can't get through.

Dr. Zemmit Maempel is qualified professional. But getting appointment to Dr. is once in bluemoon. Just Nurse Practitioners and they have nothing to say except advice about "bug," especially by Maureen N.P. More over she does not want to hear two symptoms, but just one(Not confident about herself!!!) When I went with my child she said "you can say either head ache or cough. No proper treatment options from them. While every time call for appointment it's hard to get it and same cliche "to call at 9 am everyday," No. This is not a good G.P practice. Appreciate Dr.Zemiit Maempel's intern. He do good within his experience and skills. Nurse practitioners are definitely a liability to the system and Mcmaster Clinic is just money making not patient oriented for public welfare. Because they know how to make money by lot of interns, with few of well experienced doctors. Weekend urgent care is another harder part. There should be an option if they are unable to see their patients public should be able to go to any walking clinic, but Mcmaster will charge fine I am a Nurse with 26 years of experience. My family looking for another practice ASAP!!! No hope.Good bye.

Dr. Lukings and his staff are AMAZING!!! So easy to talk to. Never any problems getting in for appointments, even on short notice. After hours (even after the clinic is closed), you are able to speak directly to a doctor through their answering service... the after hours doctor put my mind at ease at midnight and advised me accordingly. HIGHLY recommended!!!! Catherine MacDonald :)

Have been a patient with them since I moved to town in 2009. A great bunch of doctors. My son was born with Cerebral Palsy and the Health Team have been amazing, giving me the help that my son and I both need. My son is 10 and growing like a bad weed, I can't thank them enough for the help I have been given. They never make anyone wait more than 15 minutes. They are fast and efficient.

From the first point of contact I have experienced professional care, excellent communication from medical receptionists, practitioners, physicians and those supporting the online portal. If you do not have unreasonable expectations the service, care and coverage is excellent. As a frequent flyer over the past 5 years I have only appreciation and respect for everyone I have encountered at this practice.

Reception doesn’t make you feel like a priority. I understand things can be busy at times but on a consistent basis, they offer that your family doctor can’t fit you in for months at a time even for concerning issues. I can never see my actual doctor. It feels like it’s a walk-in clinic and you’re constantly on rotation.

  • 1/5 Heather W. 4 years ago on Google
After hours clinic is “not a walk in clinic”, you have to book an appointment. After booking your appointment you will come in to an hour+ wait that the receptionist for some reason can’t give you a time estimate for. So it’s essentially operating as a walk in. Good luck.

Often I've gotten same day appts as needed ( if it's an "emergency") they've always treated me very well. They've always listened and taken me seriously every time I have a concern with me or my children. My dr is dr.chow and shes absolutely great! Aa for reception it is a big deal when they are closed mid week. I find that really irritating and makes it seem like they are unreliable . As for wait times, I've never waited more than 30mins at best.

I have had nothing but great experiences at the clinic. Same day appointments if you call early enough, no long waits, thorough doctors who never make you feel rushed or disregarded. I was with Dr Lukings before he transitioned to mental health and he was a very compassionate, professional doctor. I now am with Dr Ho since he switched roles and she is lovely! She is so funny, intelligent and professional. She makes you feel very comfortable talking about any issues and is straight to the point. I feel so lucky everyday to know my family is in such good medical hands when an issue arises. I couldn’t ask for a better health team to be with.

This clinic is simply fantastic. We were so lucky to get in here after our family physician retired. We have Dr. Ho and we just love her. Don't have to wait long for an appointment and when you get there you never wait more than a couple if minutes before you are taken in. Al. The staff are very courteous.
