My
wife
is
36
weeks
pregnant.
She
booked
two
appointments
for
ultrasound
in
late
February
-
one
appointment
in
Stoney
Creek
in
April
and
then
the
second/last
appointment
at
Welland
Avenue
site,
in
St.
Catharines
on
May
13.
At
her
last
appointment
in
Stoney
Creek,
although
we
showed
up
on
time,
we
had
to
wait
about
30
minutes.
Like
many
other
Ontarians,
we
waited
patiently
and
did
not
complain.
Last
week
they
sent
us
text
message
confirming
our
2nd/last
appointment,
but
it
says,
it
will
be
in
Stoney
Creek
again.
When
we
called
the
St.
Catharines
(welland
Ave)
clinic,
they
did
make
correction
at
their
end
-
apologizing
and
blaming
system
failure,
and
changed
the
appointment
location
to
St.
Catharines
(Welland
Ave).
However,
at
her
appointment
on
May
13
in
St.
Catharines,
we
were
literally
5
minutes
late
and
then
waiting
in
que
for
her
turn.
When
we
got
to
the
registration
we
were
told
that
we
are
11
minutes
late
and
her
appointment
is
cancelled
for
"no
show"
and
we
have
to
pay
$50
to
reschedule
it.
We
were
upset
thinking
that
they
won't
accommodate
5
minutes
delay
when
we
are
expected
to
accept
more
than
30
minutes
delay
and
every
time.
On
top
of
that
they
are
asking
$50
to
reschedule
it...
I
still
can't
believe
how
greedy
and
inconsiderate
they
must
be
to
turn
away
a
36-week
pregnant
women
from
a
critical
service
for
a
5-minute
delay,
and
because
she
declined
to
pay
that
$50.
Note:
I
can
provide
proof
of
their
text
message
sent
to
us
that
we
can't
make
or
reschedule
appointment
at
any
GNMI
clinic
until
we
pay
this
amount.
The
text
message
also
threatened
us
saying
how
it
is
going
to
affect
our
credit
history.
We
could
have
paid
that
amount,
however,
it
didn't
sit
well
with
us
in
principle,
for
two
reason:
1.
as
we
had
clearly
seen
that
GNMI
and
their
staff
don't
give
a
sh,t
about
service,
care,
or
empathy.
The
staff
argued
that
we
are
to
show
up
15
minutes
early.
When
I
challenged
her
"where
does
it
say
in
the
confirmation
text
message
or
the
link?"
,
she
couldn't
answer,
became
defensive
and
telling
us,
"we
were
not
friendly".
My
question
is..
do
we
need
to
be
her
friend
to
get
a
little
empathy
and
care?
2.
As
our
government
is
privatizing
our
health
care
to
this
type
of
for-profit
companies,
I
worry
that
we
will
see
companies
like
GNMI
try
to
squeeze
more
money
(outside
of
OHIP
payments)
from
our
pockets
every
single
opportunity
they
get.
GNMI
certainly
did
that
to
us
and
left
such
impression...
Ontarians..be
aware
and
speak
up!
