Stopped by unexpectedly for lunch . Glad we did. We sat in the open window area to order and moved to an outside table to eat. Every bite of our meal was flavourful and fresh. Reasonably priced. We were able to watch the cook from the large open window carefully cook our meal. The restaurant area was clean and the service prompt and friendly. We each ordered a small entree with no sides as we were pressed for time but look forward to returning and exploring the menu further. We had the beef tacos and a chicken fajita. Best guacamole I've ever tasted!

Really yummy tacos at a great price. Came here for an anniversary dinner and they did not disappoint. The rice and beans were delicious, and I would highly recommend the jackfruit tacos. My favourite part about this restaurant is that they are completely gluten free, and offer a ton of vegan options. We also had great service.

We had just been talking about getting tacos and we walked by Eh Jose. We went in and were immediately met by Jesse, the owner. Super friendly, and great service. Nice decor, and relaxed vibe. The food was great! We’ve had great Mexican food all across California and Texas, and the food at Eh Jose was great, as good as the best we’ve had anywhere!

The best tacos and Mexican food in Niagara Region! Loved how authentic the food is, amazing how much guac they put on top of the tacos, most of the taco places don't really add guacamole or just a tiny bit, these guys are very generous with the filing of their tacos. Also loved the interior design and the open window concept. Great and super friendly customer service. Highly recommend!

We have had the good fortune of enjoying Jose’s food for many many years whether at the market (no more), dining in or ordering takeout. We’ve always had a fresh, delicious authentic meal every time. The menu offers a wide variety of options to choose from - tacos, quesadillas, huevo rancheros and my latest favourite - tortas! Can’t say enough about the rice, beans and guacamole! We love the intimate atmosphere of the restaurant where we either dine in or order a drink while waiting for our walk-in takeout order. We had our daughter’s graduation party there and in the distant past, we’ve had Jose cater a party for us. We have never been disappointed by the food or service they offer. The staff have always been so friendly and welcoming.

The food quality was a lot different than my last visit which was about a year ago. This time I got chopped beef tacos with rice. The tacos were so dry that was hard to swallow. The rice was very salty. Hopefully this review will be taken into consideration to bring back the old quality. Thanks.

Was in town visiting. A friend recommended us trying Eh Jose Taqueria. We were NOT disappointed. It was delicious! The 2 tacos with beans and rice was spot on!

Excellent experience. Had the Tortas — Mexican sandwich — Chorizo. Soooo good. Plus they gave us a bottle opener. Feliz Navidad!

We discovered this gem on a day trip to St. Catherine's. Probably the best Mexican food ever and fabulous attention. A must if you are in the hood!

When I say I wanted something hot, these guys understood the assignment. It was hot enough to make my bum burn the next day. 10/10 would go again.

So glad I found this little gem! Lovely staff, who are super friendly! The dining area seats around 20-25 people, and it overlooks the kitchen space. You can watch the chef work his magic on the delicious food. When you order two tacos with a combo, it comes with beans and rice. It's a lot of food! The tacos are stuffed and come with two corn tortillas. Everything was so fresh and delicious :)

Best place in town for Mexican Breakfast. All the food is amazing and Jose is always a pleasure to see

i absolutely LOVE eh josé. if i love you enough - i’ll take you here. the place is vibrant and lively, covered in colourful art, live cacti and fun music. the staff is overwhelmingly sweet and will always greet you with a smile. now the food. the FOOD ?? taco de carnita has my whole heart. best taco i’ve ever had hands down. the meat is juicy and fresh, topped with pico and guac. every part of this taco is perfect. if it was socially acceptable to kiss a taco i would. last time i came, we got a complimentary churro that almost moved me to tears. these heroes deserve a noble prize.

Absolutely A1 Mexican food. My wife and I stopped in tonight and each had the taco, beans and rice combo. My carnitas and tings were absolutely brilliant. Tasty and very filling, and incredibly reasonable price. We also had margaritas which were excellent. Service was friendly, helpful and very quick. We will definitely return.

I’m giving this a 3 star rating because although the food was very good there were some other issues. First time trying this restaurant. Went with a group of friends on a Saturday night in June. We were all excited to try some not so ordinary Mexican cuisine. To start off the young fellow that served us was very nice but not well versed on the menu. Also, they were out of everything we ordered. They don’t have coke, or Pepsi, because they offer only cane syrup pop. And they were out of the flavour that one of our group ordered. Also, there is no alternative to beer; no coolers, no Twisted Tea, no Mike’s Hard Lemonade etc.. And when we asked about the dinner specials we were told they were sold out of everything. So the only thing we could order were tacos, which were delicious but disappointing because we wanted to try something different. We also shared some guacamole but it was bland and flavourless. Dessert offerings were practically non existent so we ended up going elsewhere for that. It’s also worth noting there is no ambience. It’s just tables and bare walls. And beware~ there is no A/C or ceiling fans! To sum it up this restaurant serves good tacos but there’s little else to attract diners. It’s more of a place to just grab a quick bite.

Have wanted to go here for a couple of years and finally got the chance. We have had authentic Mexican all over, to name a few ie Desert Hot Springs (Palm Springs), California and a little family run place in Bradford Ontario and all were excellent. Yes we have eaten in other not so authentic Mexican places to know the difference. While service was great the food was very disappointing. Wine is listed on the menu board but there is none available so had the margarita. BIG disappointment, it is from a big container on the counter, very watered down and tasteless, a big waste of money. Next the tacos, very very bland and dry. Do yourself a favour and not eat here and waste your money.

Great food. You definitely have to visit this restaurant. The guacamole could be bottled and sold it was so amazing. I ordered the two Tinga taco combo with guacamole and chips on the side. I was full and took food home for lunch the next day. Amazing experience!!!

Amazing service! And even better food!!! Definitely the best guacamole in town. A great win with the kids. No wonder it was a full house.

This was the BEST Mexican food I have ever had. It’s quick, it’s extremely flavourful, and very authentic. Staff was very polite, knew the menu extremely well, and was extremely cautious when we mentioned allergies. Tacos were extremely full, and as a big eater the rice beans two tacos was enough for me to leave happy and full. Jars of hot sauce for sale are incredible as well

Jose and his team are amazing! Personable, friendly, funny and they create a great atmosphere. Food was excellent! Super fresh and made right infront of you. Jose takes time to tell you what he's doing as he cooks and shares stories from his mexican heritage. Highly recommended!!!

We ordered Eh Jose for our super bowl party and it was phenomenal. Food was so fresh and tasty and the staff was so friendly and accommodating with our order. Highly recommend ordering for larger parties and catering as they do a great job!

The food is tasty and the staff are incredibly friendly. The owner came out to greet us and check on the table. We also had a chance to taste an upcoming dessert for the spring/summer.

Wow, very impressed with the quality of the food and friendly service! We ordered 4 tacos to share between us, and in order of ascending preference: 4) chicken tinga - we tried to be healthier by getting the chicken one but just wasn't as good as the others lol. 2/3 we got a tie. pastor (pork) - this had pinapple which I thought was a yummy blend but husband prefered the bistec (chopped steak). 1) carnitas - exploding with flavour and juices, definitely my fav! Husband loved their hot sauce the most though. Be careful, its spicy AF - well server said the spiciness depends on the batch. I just dipped a fork sprong in and my tongue was on fire. Husband loves spicy so he doused his tacos in those. He managed to finish one of the two cups of hot sauce. Even though it caused excessive sweating on his part lol. We'll definitely come back for those tacos and the hot sauce (just gotta finish up our current sauce stock first XD). Ps. Don't wait too long to eat! Since the tacos so filling/juicy, it gets a bit messy near the end.

The interior looks stunning and the food is even better. José definitely delivers on authentic Mexican flavours. I've been twice since it's been open and the chicken tinga, heuvos rancheros breakfast and this week's specials albongias was incredibly delicious. I can't wait to try more from their diverse menu.

WOW! 5 STARS are not even enough - this is the best Mexican food we've ever had in St. Catharines. Why? Eh Jose couldn't be more authentic and fresh! We went here for my girlfriend's birthday and enjoyed an absolutely incredible meal and delicious drinks. They have multiple vegan options and each one we tried was amazing. The limited menu only emphasizes the integrity, and the quality of ingredients at this establishment. Truly a wonderful experience from the food, to the friendly and prompt service. We can't wait to come back again!

How cute is this place in downtown St. Catherines?! After a long drive from Scarborough to hike at Swayze Falls, we were hungry and decided to stop here. We both ordered the Huevos Ranchero, but I ordered it with the chicken tinga and she had it with carne asada. The portion did not disappoint one bit and the flavour was there! It was super delish and it came with 2 corn tortillas, which was also delicious. I also ordered the horchata, but I wasn't a fan because it tasted too water down. It could use a bit more cinnamon. Oh! if you're a fan of spice, then ask for the hot sauce! It was so delicious and it wasn't even THAT spicy! It was so yummy! If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend to check them out!
