This was the most extraordinary restaurant we've ever been to. The food and presentation and cost was exceptional. We recommend this place to any & every one we possibly can. The hospitality was fabulous. Casual or formal wear. We recommend the funnel cake for dessert: we split it between the three of us ( 2 adults and 1 child due to the portions of the food we ordered.

We enjoyed lunch on the patio yesterday while listening to James Anthony sing & play. Our lunch was excellent, the staff was attentive and oh so courteous. The chicken served with my Cob Salad might be the tastiest I’ve ever had. We plan on coming back…

My Partner and I were visiting from out of town and randomly discovered this hidden gem. Upon our arrival our waitress greeted us and made us feel right at home . First impressions are always important ( at least to me they are) . The menu was quite diverse with some dishes that I personally never have heard of and was looking forward to something new and exciting. I ordered the breaded steak while my partner ordered the chicken / waffle. The food was well presented with generous portions and quite tasty. I even discovered a new flavor as the gravy was infused with sage ( I believe). Over all quite the experience , warm welcome, spotless establishment, great customer service and delicious food .

First timers to the Coastal Kitchen, LOVED IT! Such a great atmosphere as soon as you enter the locale. We were seated in the bar area, with a fireplace beside us. The wine selection was great, the the Fielding Reisling! Andrea was our server and she was attentive, knowledgeable and checked in just enough to see how we were doing. Sirloin baseball steak with garlic masters, and bacon blue cheese burger with Ceasar salad were chosen off a great menu and thoroughly enjoyed! Every single bite was delicious. Highly recommending this foodie friendly space! Be sure to check out the nothing short of magical alley way beside the restaurant...just gorgeous! To cold for patio dining , but it looks really nice, next time! Cheers for such a fantastic first time, see you again soon!

We actually went to Beamsville to get takeout from another restaurant nearby but they were closed. We are actually glad it was closed because this place was very good. We shared the Louisiana shrimp, Cackalacky boneless wings and the Newfoundland mussels. Everything was great including the dips/ sauces and the Cackalacky wings had great crunch. The patio is pretty nice with some great murals. The service was excellent and the prices reasonable. We are definitely going back for dinner.

Went here with my partner while we were visiting the area and we enjoyed the meal experience. Had a really great server as well who was helpful with menu item choices. As someone from the southern US, I knew that despite the descriptions, the meals weren’t gonna hit like that for me, but that was OK because I went in with tempered expectations. I got the jambalaya which was good, but definitely not as flavorful as I typically get back home. Some of the real standouts where the shrimp which were tasty, and the crabcakes were also delicious! Recommend both of those! It was also a surprisingly warm day outside for April and it was great to be able to enjoy their outside patio space.

I have been here several times now. The service is incredible. I had Andrea as a server for my boyfriends moms birthday and she brought out a birthday dessert. With only a little comment on it being her birthday. Marcelle has shown such great hospitality as well. The shrimp appetizer is to die for. I would suggest anyone in this area to visit. I love coming here on a weekly basis now and am looking forward to patio season to enjoy it! Highly recommend if you are in the area or live here. It’s a stable !!

Ordered Margarita , it was very weak. Entrees we’re very good. I had Seafood pasta. Lots of shrimp and lobster pieces. Very tasty. My husband had Jambalaya and he said it was good. Service was good but it took a long to time get dinner, and it wasn’t that busy, but food came hot, which is a good thing. Had crab cakes there before and they were good.

I went here yesterday and I must say that the food was fantastic! I had the Seafood Pasta and Lobster Crab Burger! The food was so delicious and the service was excellent! A great place to go out for a date. The Caesars were so good and came with a huge skewer of stuff! Overall great experience!

Very cozy and nice outback patio. Wait staff were attentive. Fries and ahi tuna sandwich were delicious. The Mac and cheese was a little bland, I added some salt to spruce it up a bit. Overall good experience. We would go back.

Sassafras is an excellent addition to the Beamsville community! Excellent and courteous team that works there. Unfortunately, have not had the opportunity to eat in as of yet. Been there about a half dozen times for take out and have not been disappointed once. Food is FANTASTIC and portion sizes are very generous! Join the team at Sassafras, as you will not be disappointed. Keep up the great work guys!

I’m a bit disappointed. I did order the chicken and waffles without the marscapone, bacon jam, and mango because i can’t eat them but the waffle was tiny? I ran out of waffle and still had a ton of chicken. Fries were delicious. My husbands tacos were good but the ketchup poured out of the container into them. Also not sure why ketchup is added with fries - assumed it must be some sort of spicy dip to go with the tacos since it was in them. Probably would be a better place to go have a sit down meal when all of this is under control. I will probably try again but I recommend providing an entire waffle with such a large piece of chicken.

Have been many times since they opened last year during the pandemic. They have been quick to adjust to the constant change of rules. Food is always amazing and very reasonably priced. Both the restaurant and the pop up market are high on or list of go-to places.

Beamsville is certainly an interesting, but historic town. Although this restaurant is in an interesting location, they have certainly done a good job with the atmosphere, the service, and most importantly, the food. The layout of the restaurant is... something, but that's definitely not the fault of the restaurant. My final remark is my concerning my meal... I had the chicken and waffles, which, don't get me wrong, were absolutely delicious — but they came with a side of mash potatoes. Again, the potatoes were delicious, but after eating a waffle that's, for a lack of a better word, "mushy" from the chicken and the syrup, the last thing I would like to put in my mouth is more "mush" 😅 Overall, amazing experience and lovely patio!

My husband and I came for our anniversary and absolutely loved it! The staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is fun with a Florida vibe. The crab cakes are delicious. We both had the surf and turf which was outstanding! We will definitely be back!

Date of Visit: Saturday Nov 12, 2022 Driving through Beamsville the words “southern seafood’ caught our attention. As lovers of Southern cooking and seafood, We knew we needed to check this place out. The dining room is very spacious and you do not feel confined or cloistered together. The menu has a lot of great southern inspired seafood items from cajun country including catfish, crawdads, crab, jambalaya, and much more. We enjoyed some cajun caesars for our cocktails. With the insanely large skewers. Meals ordered: Cajun Catfish – which is a wild caught catfish – and has a bit of a more gamey taste than the farm raised that you may be used to. Spicy Chicken and waffles – which was delightful – the spice was cut nicely by the delicious maple syrup. The Special – which was an oven baked salmon with hollandaise sauce, and grilled asparagus. A bowl of Seafood chowder was a must-try to get the full authentic experience. It was a large bowl filled with various seafood items, and served with jalapeno cornbread. The food was delicious – everything tasted great, was beautifully cooked, and well presented. The Prices: Prices range from $17-30 per meal – all very fair market value for the items. The special of Salmon was about $37 – for more details on their prices – see their menu. The service is very good – the waitress was very attentive and friendly Parking – there is plenty of parking around back, with a back door entrance through their outdoor patio. Overall experience. We truly enjoyed this dining experience at Sassafras Coastal Kitchen Southern Seafood restaurant. This is a lovely place to go for a good meal or for a special occasion. It’s not a cheap meal but it is a nice dining out experience. We will definitely be back – and try more items on their amazing menu.

Recently moved to the area and stumbled across this place from recommendations from other locals. If you live in the area or are just passing through you have to stop here. They have a ton of fresh fish meals and tons of options for those that are not fans of seafood as well. First time there I had the Spicy Fried Chicken and Waffles, second time there had the Tuna Poke, both were amazing!

Below is my first review and we gave it a full 5 stars On August 4th I took my wife for dinner. She had a very salty special pasta wine and cheese. I jumped at the chance to repeat the Jambalaya. Not the same dish I had the first visit. Rubbery shrimp seasoning was not consistent lumps of spices mixed with poor seasoning just a bold tomato flavour. It was raining just prior to our arrival so I guess they closed the patio and moved the entertainment inside. Sorry this establishment is not big enough to host live music. This singer was monotone and sang and played with no energy. With the sound system delivering anything but crisp clear sound we were blown out of the house with overpowering noise. The first visit offered a Gumbo special but I am thinking we had a different cook that night. Amazing Southern authentic cooking Nothing is prefabricated here it is cooked from scratch. Price was more than reasonable with quality service staff. Our favourite spot in the region

A nice patio in the back with a great menu. Had the boneless chicken wings with one or the restaurants home made sauces and a goat cheese and berries salad for dinner. Ordered a pop and it came in a really big cup, which was great as I was thirsty! The service was friendly and prompt. I liked the art murals in the alleyway next to the restaurant, and the fact they gave mints with the check at the end! Would go again, that goat cheese and berries salad was excellent.

The food here is pretty good, they offer a different and unique cuisine compared to other restaurants in the area. The lobster + crab mac and cheese is delicious and a must try. However, the corn bread was stone cold and tasted freezer burnt, I would have preferred warm fresh baked corn bread compared to this, which I honestly think was store bought and frozen.
