Non-residents
of
St.Catharines
BEWARE!
You've
been
warned!
This
place,
sadly,
may
have
to
do
for
your
swimming
needs
if
you
are
a
resident
and
have
no
where
else
to
go
but
it's
down
right
horrible
if
you
are
not
a
resident.
And
trust
me
when
I
say
it
makes
no
difference
whether
you
live
there
or
not,
the
receptionist
is
a
growling
pit
bull
guarding
her
territory.
Upon
arrival
brace
yourself
to
be
greeted
by
a
snarl,
not
an
inviting
and
willing-to-assist
happy
smile.
Maybe
she
hates
her
job?
Who
knows!
As
a
non-resident
I
registered
my
2.5
year
old
daughter
for
swim
lessons
there
because
we
do
not
have
access
to
an
indoor
swimming
pool
in
Thorold
and
therefore
no
fall/winter
swimming
classes.
Non-residents
are
only
able
to
register
2
days
after
residents
at
which
point
pretty
much
all
the
classes
were
filled
up.
We
were
miraculously
lucky
(or
so
I
thought
then)
to
have
been
able
to
get
the
last
spot
because
I
registered
at
precisely
the
exact
minute
we
were
able
too.
Yup,
I
even
set
an
alarm
10
minutes
to
registration
time.
Once
the
program
is
complete
(which
consists
of
4
to
6
classes)
you
need
to
re-register.
This
time,
we
weren't
so
lucky
as
everything
filled
up
before
non-residents
even
got
a
chance!
The
place
is
so
disorganized
that
at
the
last
class
they
didn't
even
know
when
the
next
registration
would
come
out.
I
had
to
figure
it
out
myself
and
constantly
check
the
site.
The
staff
wasn't
helpful
in
the
least.
And
the
instructor
for
the
course
was
a
young
teenager
who
stood
there
not
even
really
engaging
herself
in
the
class,
she
almost
looked
annoyed
that
she
was
stuck
there
rather
than
with
her
friends.
This
was
a
class
by
the
way
which
should
have
had
4
students,
but
there
were
only
3...
why?
That
could
have
been
a
spot
for
someone
else,
instead
the
site
listed
it
as
full.
Clearly
they
don't
update
their
site.
Again,
so
disorganized!
The
teenage
instructor
failed
to
provide
any
substantial
feedback
or
constructive
tips
when
some
of
the
kids
weren't
performing
at
their
best.
I
mean...
isn't
that
why
she's
there?
To
teach
the
kids
to
swim
and
teach
us
(the
parents/
gaurdians)
the
best
way
to
help
them.
She
basically
sat
there
and
watched
us
do
everything
ourselves.
I
thought
I
signed
up
for
a
teacher...
not
a
lifeguard!
Needless
to
say,
with
all
the
disorganization,
poor
registration
method,
a
growling
receptionist,
and
lifeguard
rather
than
a
teacher
I
felt
very
unwelcome
as
a
non-resident
and
probabley
would
feel
the
same
as
a
resident
too
to
be
honest.
So
we
decided
to
go
elsewhere,
even
if
we
have
to
make
a
further
drive.
Two
thumbs
down
on
this
place...
BUT
they
do
have
a
very
nice
library
going
for
them
with
great
service
there
if
you
want
to
check
that
out.
