It's a short but hilly walk through the woods and over a few bridges, including one large suspension bridge with a great view. We saw a family of raccoons and a couple of small critters today. Above the hill overlooking the parking area is a few picnic tables and grills with great shade. We'll definitely be visiting again!

The suspension bridge is cool and higher than I expected. My kids said this should be called bridge park because there are so many bridges. I clocked it with my GPS and the trail is .5 mile long. There's no trail map, but you can't get lost. There's just one trail and it's well kept. Great for little kids. Hardly worth the drive for adult hiking unless you want to see the bridge. The park is 2 miles off pavement. The dirt road had some deep ruts, but my minivan was fine on a dry day. I probably wouldn't go on a wet day.

It is quick to get to from Des Moines or wartren county. ALmost entirely shaded during your walk. If it has rained in the last 2 days it will be quite muddy and slick in some of the path areas. I recommend a good hiking boot or heavy duty tennis shoe. Lots of steps made of wood and some are not flat and may make you unsteady. It is a pretty area. In the middle near the creek bed, which was dry except the very extreme north edge, had a cool little timber lean too made in the shape of a teepee. I called it Big Foots House. Fairly steep most of the walk. only a few wild flowers in bloom. It was 92 outside but it was comfrotable in all the shaded woods. It took around 30-45 minutes by the time we goofed around with selfies and enjoying the bird sounds, Suspension bridge is cool and fun. A fun afternoon get away. Nice picnic area above the parking lot. 2-3 table to eat at and a big fire pit. You need bug spray as the mesquitos are pretty thick. I recommend this place. iIn good weather. Fall will be fun too if around some dry weather.

Great little hike, dogs were spooked by suspension bridge but otherwise, loved it!

Short loop trail, so don't go expecting an intense hike. But it has hills and beautiful views. Great option when you need a little pick-me-up or don't have much time.

Beautiful park. Beautiful bridge. Amazing trail that leads back to where you parked. Not a super long walk.

Short but beautiful trail, and we had a little puppy friend guide us through the whole thing!

Great trail for the littles with a swinging bridge and a creek that was low enough for us to walk through!
