This place is wonderful. Inspired, and free to walk across. It is an oasis of calm above a very bustling city. We entered it at the end where the vessel is, this is a very interesting piece of architecture, and we walked to Chelsea Market, which is also another beautiful place. There are a few people selling cold drinks along the route, which was very much needed. Would highly recommend a walk along the high line if you visit New york 😀

Excellent! I wasn't sure I wanted to go when my wife told me about it but I'm so glad we did! Gorgeous views, great walk after eating a big breakfast on the go, and the whole vibe is surreal! It's like walking in the future, the way the foliage meets the surrounding architecture.

The High Line is a perfect place to scape from the city when you are near the Meat Packing, I enjoy my long walks in here since I live in the neighborhood, the best time to visit is on week days, weekends are a bit crowded, close to Chelsea Market if you want to grab a quick lunch, it’s also surrounded by great restaurants, bars, coffee shops and more… nearby is also Little Island, that has beautiful views, you can also enjoy The Hudson Yards that many visitors go The Edge, The Vessel, nice restaurants and for shopping you have the mall. I highly recommend this place, if you are a tourist the visit is a must…👌👌👌

A wonderful walk between the city buildings of New York, take it as an easy way to Chelsea Market from the Vessel, which is a must see if you are nearby. Quite busy on a sunny afternoon but we have also visited in the early evening and enjoyed the views and surroundings just the same. Not a tourist trap just a nice walk along the old railway line.

The High Line is an interesting urban walking trail, there are many different things to see and explore. I liked that there were rest stops with plenty of seating along the way. Each section was unique and a surprise, one section had vendors and a small street market. The various art along the way was a nice surprise. It was a nice way to escape the busyness of the city.

A very serene and lovely walkway situated near the waterfront. You get some lovely spots for good photos of NYC, and there are some art pieces scattered along the way. Nice way to spend some time walking through the High Line on a sunny afternoon to soak in the vibes of the city. Unfortunately, the crowds can get very heavy at some parts of the walk, so the experience may not be as pleasant or tranquil as one might hope. Something to keep in mind and to tame your expectations when visiting!

This is one of my favorite NYC attractions! You can start by the Vessel if you are in a hurry, but I highly encourage you to take this memorable stroll on the High Line! The buildings, the art installations, the views of the city and Hudson River, and many other details are exceptional!

I really like that the city decided to turn the old train way into a very nice and scenic walkway. It's a great path for walking or jogging. Lots of interesting things to see, I especially like the variety of architectural structures to see.

This park is like nothing else in NYC, you literally see the rails built into paved way or have them as part of the lawn. Being elevated few floors above street level makes views from the park quite unique. Distinct feature of the park is close proximity to surrounding modern buildings that are architecturally superior to average new construction in Manhattan.

Highly recommended to anyone visiting new York to find time to go on the high line. It's just so unique offering a cut right at the hub of the city. Love the design and the views you get from different points. The flowers and plants are really great to look at and admire. Lot of places to sit and relax. It also ends near the vessel which is another amazing spot I like to just look and admire.

Amazing. True urban oasis. Great way to walk from Manhattan West down to Chelsea Market, the Whitney, Little Island, and Hudson River Park down to the WTC area. A must for anyone visiting Manhattan -- and just as beautiful in the evening with the City lights!

I would like to rate this place 5 stars. I did really enjoy visiting the high line. From the start to the end lasted about 20-25 minutes walk. It's a touristy place. You can easily get there with public transport. Walk with friends would be fun. Take good pictures with New York skyline. Moreover, it's free.

Walked the whole stretch. I did it during a weekend and, while it was packed most of the time, there were times I was almost completely alone. Overall it was quite an enjoyable experience. An interesting combination of nature and urban landscapes, in the middle of one of the largest cities in the world. The architecture of some of the buildings that surround it is also quite interesting. Recommended visit while in NYC

The High Line in New York City offers a unique and immersive urban experience that stands out even in a city known for its incredible parks and public spaces. This elevated linear park, built on a historic freight rail line, has been transformed into an urban oasis that weaves through the bustling streets of Manhattan's West Side. From the moment you ascend the staircases to the High Line, you're greeted by a fusion of nature, art, and design. The park's layout harmoniously integrates the industrial elements of the original railway with lush plantings, contemporary art installations, and panoramic views of the city and the Hudson River. As you stroll along the High Line, there's a palpable sense of calm that contrasts with the energetic pulse of the city below. The landscaping is thoughtfully curated, with a mix of wildflowers, grasses, and trees that change with the seasons, providing a haven for birds and insects and a splash of color against the urban backdrop. The park is also a cultural hub, offering a variety of public programs and art installations that provoke thought and conversation. The integration of art with nature invites visitors to reflect on the relationship between urban spaces and the environment. Seating areas and viewing platforms are strategically placed to take advantage of the vistas, making it a perfect spot to relax and people-watch. The High Line also features food vendors offering a selection of treats and refreshments, adding to the overall enjoyment of the experience. Accessibility is a key feature of the High Line, with multiple entry points and elevator access ensuring that everyone can enjoy what the park has to offer. It's not just a walk in the park; it's an embodiment of New York City's spirit of innovation and its commitment to urban renewal and public space. In essence, the High Line is more than just a park; it's a testament to the power of community vision and the potential for urban transformation. It's a must-visit destination for locals and tourists alike, offering a unique perspective on the city and a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of urban life.

The high line is a unique experience. It gives you an amazing perspective of New York City and it is very beautiful. All of the plants and trees through this path is incredible. Something to know, you can only enter through one or two locations and once you exit through their other locations you cant go back. I would recommend you spend your time walking and seeing everything and then go back to your desired exit. On a hot day, bring some good shade! There are locations where vendors are and we had the best mini donuts from there. Would recommend for people traveling to NY because I'm sure locals already know about it.

The High Line is a unique and beautiful park that offers stunning views of Manhattan and the Hudson River. It is a great place to enjoy nature, art, and design in the heart of the city. I loved walking along the elevated rail trail and exploring the different gardens and artworks. The High Line is a must-see for anyone visiting New York!

Unique walkway with spectacular views of Manhattan. Nothing beats this experience where you can walk beside the buildings and enjoy the architecture. I have been several times in the past and my favorite time of year to go is in the summer on a not so hot day. Beautifully decorated with plants and flowers, it's a nice contrast from all the concrete. You will not regret coming here!

The High Line is a must when you visit New York City. It's a park/walkway on an elevated rail line. You can walk through the park/gardens anytime, it takes about 35 minutes to walk. It’s surrounded by a lot of great restaurants, coffee shops, and bars. Lots of places to sit and you can even enjoy a nice picnic lunch. There is a playgrounds for kids. The best times to go is during the week, the weekend is very busy.

The Highline is a nice way to get across this part of the city. If you don't feel like dealing with traffic, cars, and crowds of people, walking along the highline is a nicer and better way to get through the area. It's a nice elevated park with many opportunities to see interesting architecture.

Have always enjoyed walking in both directions on the High Line during my work lunch hour, wasn't really ever an issue with lots of people but unfortunately now it is. I no longer work in the area so this has been the first time in a couple years. I absolutely understand the need for tickets but even so lots of people walking super close to each other because the width of the walkway isn't wide at all. But all in all we enjoyed walking it & seeing views from a different location. Very nice with lots of greenery in some parts so you feel like you're in garden & not in the city. Nice there is seating when you feel one needs a break.

Picture make sure you check out the website before you visit you to book a ticket in advance depending the time and day that you're going to visit. This is to be an old train station that carried merchandise from the ships to the city without blocking traffic. So instead of destroying it they just built on top of it a nice park and is building surrounding it plus a hotel and restaurants. Great views of the Hudson River and sunset. There's benches to sit on a nice garden with flowers and some trees. There is also some times depending on the day, a food court.

Great walking trail on a abandoned above ground rail platform. Trail is about 19-20 blocks long with beautiful landscaping and a few great views of the area. Well maintained with bathrooms along the trail. There is also a walking tour avaliable which I saw in progress.

Great place specially during summer to take a walk, hang out with friends and family. There is lots of free and spacious seating, different flora labelled throughout the whole park, some artistic installations, restrooms and water filling stations too. Love the accessibility. There is dedicated space right across little island with food stalls and art sellers. Can easily spend two hours. Starbucks roastery is walking distance too so maybe roam around before/after!

I love this place. You should go there to different times in the year. In summer you had Cafés, bars or snack bars. The ground is with water so you can cool your feets. In Winter it is like Charismas. If you go in the evening you have a amazing lighting. You should wear a mask.

A really beautiful walking path through Chelsea and the West Village. While we were there everything was blooming which gave it a nearly magical feeling. Just as a reminder: this google spot doesn’t mark the ending or the beginning of the path! If you want to walk the whole line you should either start at the Chelsea market or Hudson Yards.

Even in the rain.. probably better since it was not crowded at all... so great to pick up a coffee in Chelsea and then walk the length in both directions. Enjoy the architecture, the native plants and grasses, the many voices and languages you can hear along the walk... the views of NYC and of NJ.

An elevated old subway track that the city turned into an elevated park. I think this is a very cool use of abandoned city infrastructure. Definitely a worthwhile visit while you’re in town. It offers extraordinary views and access to several iconic places along the route such as Mercado Little Spain, Chelsea Market, and not too far from Riverside Park and Little Island and much more!!! If someone were visiting from out of town I would definitely bring them here.

The High Line is a captivating destination with a rich history. This elevated garden is a testament to urban innovation, transforming an old rail line into a lush haven. Learning about its inception and the city's decision to create this green space adds to its allure. The designers' vision shines through, making it a truly special place. Don't miss the charming water feature – a perfect oasis for a quick food break during your stroll.

Love walking the high line every time I’m in NYC! Converting an old railroad line into a park was one of the most incredible and imaginative projects. Enjoy some fall colors (visited end of October) and wonderful views of the city!! Buy a thing or two at the Chelsea artist & flea market.

Short: Fun (free) walk in the park alongside old railway tracks Long: Totally recommended. Short walk across a couple of blocks along an old abandoned railway track. There's plenty to see alongside (see images and my "little island" recession) as well as the famous Vessel on one of the northern end. It's free, it's nice and there even facilities on the way (supposedly rare thing in NYC)

Great views, great walk, great route. It's pretty rare that a green walk through a city is actually significantly faster and more convenient than regular street walking. High Line achieves this! There's great views all the way along, and walking it end to end is a great way to see hints of NYC buildings in gaps between the greenery.

It's an incredibly smart use of a decaying urban structure into one of the most beautiful walks in the city. Meandering through gardens, fascinating architecture and allowing you to jump off every couple of blocks to a strategically placed bar or restaurant it is a must do in a city full of them.

The High Line is an experience like no other. Definitely one of my top 3 parks in New York. It’s surreal walking above the traffic between the buildings on an old rail line that is now covered in plants. For me, it’s just about the perfect length for a nice walk. It’s good all year long, but especially in the spring and summer when the foliage is fuller. Be warned that it can get pretty busy though.

One of my favorite things to do in NYC. Show up when you like, walk the High Line at your own pace; it's not a race. Always something to see. Fabulous selection of decent restaurants at the end of the line. My favorite is heading back to Hudson Yards as the night lights start to come on after sunset. A must.

One of the best things, if not the best, in Manhattan. Excellent idea to repurpose this old train track into an elevated walkway that nicely takes you all around new and fancy buildings. I enjoyed walking it north to south and south to north but definitely more from north to south. You can get a beautiful view of the NJ skyline from the south end part of it. Not so nice to run there, even in the early mornings unfortunately. It is way too packed with people for this to be really enjoyable. It’s all free! Go ahead and do it!

What can I tell you, one of the best places on the planet. Apart from the fact that it is free, it is the perfect union between nature, sculpture and architecture. A place where you feel very peaceful and enjoy the wonderful surroundings. I have no idea how many blocks the trip is, but I assure you that when it ends you will be left wanting much more. I recommend it one hundred.

High Line Park is one of the most beautiful and unique parks. It’s 9.1 meters above the street level, and 2.3 kilometers long. The High Line is transformed from an abandoned elevated railway bridge, as a "sky garden" for leisure and entertainment. At the opening ceremony, then-New York Mayor Bloomberg called it "a special gift to this city." Here, you can overlook Manhattan and appreciate the beauty of New York City from different angles.

This is such an amazing idea that I wish more cities had something similar. The whole line is full of different plants and sculptures. You will find local vendors and also be able to see a few touristy spots along the way. There are gardens, and ice cream shops and water features along the way. You can also walk to the vessel from here.

Beautiful “park” path located on retired elevated train tracks through the city. It’s a magical combo of lush and interesting landscaping, art and murals, NY city views and Hudson River views. It’s free to access, and a must see for a NYC trip. We walked North to south, starting at the Vessel and got down at the Chelsea Market. 100% recommend and would do again.

A "must do" on your NYC list of activities. This is an abandoned train track that was beautifully re-purposed into a picturesque walk that features jaw-dropping architecture, thoughtful "view points", ample uniquely styled seating, city skylines, inspiring murals and original scrulptures/works of art. I've never walked it when it wasn't littered with tourists, but that's part of the excitement of it. Be prepared to dodge the countless people stopping to take pictures, but don't miss the performing artists and frequent food stops along the line. It's worth the walk, and every time you visit, you're sure to witness something new!

Very nice walk! Beautiful scenery and not too many people during the week. It's unfortunate they didn't plant all season flowers if there is such a thing lol. The views are eye catching and it's just great to get out and do something safe. Mask are required and no pets allowed. There are workers for the High Line at each entry which is helpful if you have questions.

Such a beautiful walk through Hudson Yards and the Meatpacking District. I went for a date with my boyfriend and we were easily able to find places to sit, enjoy the sun, and get a beautiful view of the city. Visiting from Houston Texas. Very nice walk way for easy walkable commuting. I wasn't a fan of registering to walk on the on the platform. It is a very nice sight to see with the reclaimed train tracks being high up and seeing the streets below you. A beautiful place for photography. It's nice it's nice that they have stuff there to assist you if you have any questions but I think that a sign will do just as well with available information needed for your walking needs. It's a park, or a way to commute.

One of my favorite parts of the High Line. Probably one of the few places to watch a good sunrise (remember there are tons of places to see a good sunset in NYC but because the sun sets on the opposite side if you find a good break in the buildings from this part of the High Line you can get an amazing sunrise). I love downtown chelsea views this location offers, seeing the samsung buildings and the other tech startups locations. Wish they had a few more places to descend.

Three different locals suggested we visit this place and it definitely did not disappoint. Very cool place. Old subway tracks converted into a public park with so much plant life and greenery. A few vendors with food and wares along the way. We were only able to do a small portion of the southern end but we will definitely be back to check out the rest on a future trip. For anyone debating on going, DO IT.

Delightful experience during our visit to New York City. Walking along the Highline and looking up and down all the crossing streets, getting to see the unique buildings along the walk up close, it was fun. Was quite busy at 4pm on a Tuesday, seemed like visitors and locals using the path to get home. Was nice to walk a mile or so without dodging cars while crossing streets below. Recommend!

This elevated linear park is a rail trail built on a disused New York City Railroad viaduct. The entire trail, walking slowly and taking photos in between takes about half an hour. Definitely worth a visit/walk, to see New York City from a different point of view. I recommend a walk in the spring/summer time, when nature is more lush. The entrance is free.

A nice walkway with lots of vegetation and some sculptures in the Chelsea area. There is easy access to Chelsea Market and the Hudson Yards. There are many spots where you can get great shots of the surrounding neighborhoods and buildings. Apart from a some areas which the vegetation seems to be not well maintained it is a great place for a walk and to head to popular points in the city.

Wonderful initiative to turn the old railroad into a park. It’s extremely pleasant to escape New York’s traffic and just stroll through a semi wild park. October may not be the best time to visit, still there was a lot to enjoy with regard to colour and shape.

Incredible high walk. Beautiful sights of the city, the buildings , the sky skyscrapers. Connects the vessel with the Chelsea market and little island. Be aware that the are starting to required tickets. It’s getting crowded. Tickets are free and you can book them online. Try to do it the night before to be safe.

The high line is a awesome park to walk through. A view of New York in a unique way. Stroll trough the city will enjoy long great views from above. This way ends at the vessel / the edge. If you want to visit Chelsea market I recommend that you start at the other end and finish here.

In bloom! Unfortunately, parts of the Highline are still closed. Sadly, staff are allowing pooping dogs, pot smoking, bicycles and kids in scooters. Most of the grass areas are overgrown and uncared for. The Highline is becoming a relic at an early age. SAD & UNFORTUNATE.

2nd time visiting the park, first time was during the winter which was not as enjoyable. During the summer you get pleasant view of the city and New Jersey. Great to walk with a date. Plenty of spots to sit down and relax, also lots of shaded areas to cool off from the insane summer heat.

I loved this place. As you walk in the high line, you will see the original tracks, you will hear music and/or narration of the history of that place. In certain places you will have some seats and will see lots of colored flags. In the distance you will see the new building at Hudson Yards, very small compared to the buildings around it. On the other side, you will see Hudson River and New Jersey's buildings.

You got to try the Vessel at Hudson Yard and the high online park. This is the river side park with New Jersey waterfront and skyline. The government take good use of this abandoned place and converting it to another modern and fashion center in the west side of manhattan. Try Hudson yard and high line park. And you won’t regret it.

Great views, elevated walkway, lot of greenery, plenty of picturesque view. Try to go during weekdays, if you are going during summertime bring some shade, we walked from starting point to end, some places walkway will be narrow and bit crowded. You can cover the city view, Hudson river, old railway line, different types of art works. Entire walk is exceptional.

I had no idea this existed in Manhattan! Such a cool concept of converting an old train track into a long park that runs along buildings through the city. There are benches, old parts of the railroad exposed and lots of plants everywhere. Such a great way to experience the city, I highly recommend to check it out!

The High Line is a great way to see many sights of the city. Offering unique vantage points along the way you will walk along and amongst many beautiful buildings and architectural features not well seen from the street. That along with the many art installations along the way will make traversing the city a joy and blocks will pass without feeling weary as you soak in the views and friendly atmosphere of the High Line.

A really good place to walk and admire the beauties of Manhattan's low-west area. You can start walking near Chelsea Market and end by The Vessel.

This is recycling at the best. Instead of demolishing the old railway track and creating environmental disasters, rather save the structure and put it back in work by creating urban oasis in the middle of the concrete jungle. I visited the first time when it was opened for the first time. In my second visit, I was surprised by the plant growth on the high line. High line has distinct wild flower growth, and you can select your choice of wild flower by completing the survey. Instead of visiting expensive botanical gardens in different boroughs, you get similar seasonal flowers and plant exposure on a high line for free. This is a must-see attraction for the visitors along with Vessel. You can start from Chelsea all the way to Vessel in Hudson Yard. There are refreshments stalls and constant changing public art on display besides breathtaking views. Restrooms 🚻 are available at both ends. One can easily hop off to newly created Little Island Park. If you decide to spend more time, then benches and water features are there to rest and relax. Some portion of the high line is under renovations by Jacob Javits Center. Please follow the rules and regulations of the park.

Nice little walk that gives you a break away from the city whilst still being in the city. There are some nice views and although you’ll still find tourists doing this walk, it has significantly less tourists than other places. Add this to your list and give it a walk one day. There are multiple entry and exit points however it’s a good idea to go from the Chelsea Markets and then go down to the shops in Hudson Yard, or the other way around. Can imagine this makes for a nice night walk and is amazing in Autumn or when snowing. Would I go again: Yes Do I recommend: Yes

When the sun's out, there’s nothing quite like taking a walk on the High Line. NYC’s elevated park is certainly one of more popular New York attractions everyone needs to check off their list, and it's the perfect activity to take visitors from out of town. To give you a bit of history, the High Line was once a rail track, which went out of use in 1980. In 2009, the 1.45-mile-long strip was transformed into what is now considered one of the most unique Parks in NYC.

One of my favorite parks; quiet and serene. Bring a book and a snack, and enjoy a chaise to relax, right in the middle of NYC. Free to enter, but requires a timed entrance during the pandemic. Walk from 14th St to 34th St (flat walking with elevator accessibility) and then visit Hudson Yards. A great day for all ages.

What an amazing use for an old industrial rail line. I walked all along the High Line and it was really great. You get to pass some beautiful Garden areas as well as interesting buildings with strong murals depicting politics and racial struggles. You even get to go in some of the old industrial buildings that the Trains used to enter. It is free of charge to go on the High Line and it is quite busy all the times. , so you may need to book online to reserve a positon. It is open from 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday, Saturday and Sunday it's 10am to 6pm. If you love contemporary Art then you absolutely must visit this place. The High Line website will provide you with all the information you need regarding exhibits and locations of specific works. There are accessible entry points at various locations also. There are also food/drink stands available but at the moment I do not think they are open due to Covid. No visit to New York is complete without visiting the High Line.

Unusual concept for a park, on elevated former rail tracks, with places to sit, local grasses and other flora, and views of outdoor art, the Hudson River and historic places along it (like where the Titanic would have docked had it made it), Hoboken and the Palisades of NJ. At one end is the Whitney Museum, the other very West 34th St., which is walkable with loads of shopping eventually leading to Macy*s and stores beyond that. Also near the new Hudson Yards and Meatpacking neighborhoods (no longer a yard and no longer does meatpacking occur, discuss). Ferries are nearby. During tourist seasons, it can be uncomfortably crowded. But if you're at a Javitz Convention Center event, or at nearby shopping on 34th St., or just on vacation, it's a thing to see. Not really a place I go out of my way to visit regularly.

The High Line is a 1.45-mile-long (2.33 km) elevated linear park, greenway and rail trail created on a former New York Central Railroad spur on the west side of Manhattan in New York City. The High Line's design is a collaboration between James Corner Field Operations, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, and Piet Oudolf. The abandoned spur has been redesigned as a "living system" drawing from multiple disciplines which include landscape architecture, urban design, and ecology. Since opening in June 2009, the High Line has become an icon of contemporary landscape architecture

Perfection. We had such a blast and were treated so kindly. The staff was absolutely courteous and helpful. The rooms were greatness. We had such a beautiful room. There's room service which is pretty much 24/7 and a mini fridge and bar. Extra rummy run for two with seperate rain shower. The roof was reserved but you can sit outside on the 3rd floor. Definitely can't wait to go back and enjoy a longer stay even despite the fact there was a vibrator found under the bed. 🤣

One of our favorite parts of visiting New York! The park used to be a raised level freight train line which has been beautifully converted into a park which honors the history of the repurposed structure as shown by iron tracks that can still be seen at various points along the walk. Historically, the train tracks were on ground level, but due to numerous accidents, the tracks were raised above ground level in the 1930's.

I came on a weekend during "prime time", which means we had to reserve tickets online before ascending up to the High Line experience. I'm not a fan of the reservation system because it is confusing, it makes accessing the High Line gated behind owning a smart phone (or owning a printer), and because the High Line is outdoors and not overwhelmingly crowded to begin with. With that said, I enjoyed the walk. However, I was disappointed the High Line does not extend around the Hudson Yards area like it used to. It might have been closed for construction but that was unclear. For a free walking trail through the city, it can't be beat. The covid regulations are currently a nuisance.

Beautiful nature-leaning walkway in Manhattan made from an old, converted train line. The path is lined with scenic outlooks as well as places to sit back and relax. An easy walk for the young and old alike. It had several elevators throughout for those with mobility issues or strollers. When we went they also had food/drink stands open along with a balloon animal artist.

The high line is a great park and point of view and perspective of NYC! It was well maintained and just really peaceful. My wife and I really enjoyed it because your elevated high enough to see further out than on the ground floor, you avoid the heavy foot traffic and the rushing to cross the streets. You just get to do what you want at your own pace. I feel as if this gets overlooked more than it should but we highly recommend it.

The place is so serene and breathtakingly beautiful. I actually went there by mistake as I was just roaming around ended up walking the whole highline and loved every bit of it. I also attended an event that was held at the Chelsea Market and was hosted by Redbull and I loved it too. Last time I was in NYC simply didn't have enough time to visit this elevated line park made along the previous rail tracks. This time it was my priority, so I did it on the first day. It's really a pleasant walk above the street level, with lots of greenery, alternative sculptures and nice city views both, towards the city and towards the Hudson river. Really nice stroll observing cool buildings and nice apartments. The view is nice but makes you wish you lived in one of those apartments next to the high line. Be prepared to stop for people taking pictures or just standing in the middle of the path talking. Since it's a tourist attraction, it's a must-visit for sure! An evening stroll through the snazzy apartment blocks of NYC is an extraordinary insight into NYC Architecture. Gothic rubs shoulders with modernist and classical with post modernist and even an Art Deco for good measure and yet it all comes together in a way only NYC does. Bring a small snack and find a view point to sit and enjoy it all.

A very pretty long park: another great idea in what to do with abandoned (industrial) places, in this case an elevated freight train track. Many ideas poured in when the city asked what to do with it (they varied from taking the whole thing down to a very long lap pool). Many parts of the train tracks are still visible, surrounded by greenery, benches made of concrete that protrude out of the floor, benches on train wheels on the track, etc. There is also a "theater" above the street where you can watch the busy traffic.

Beautiful elevated views across New York, it really does feel like you’re in a jungle oasis in the middle of the city. Nice place to visit in the middle of Manhattan. Historic and an amazing idea. The plan was to destroy these tracks that were so useful in the past and some ingenious ideas came up and now is a work of art. Only in New York City. Welcome everybody to our city just respect the local citizens. The food and beverage stands are too expensive. No need for that. Amazing!

An ingenious idea to repurpose an old transit line into an oasis of greenery and calm right in the midst of all the chaos that envelopes NYC. You get to see another side of the city and the views are quite refreshing and fresh. Apart from the amazing views you will get a lot of street food options, artists selling some really good pictures and a cozy restaurant near the amphitheatre. It would be a magnificent walk during the fall season when the whole of New York changes color and takes on a delightful hue. Add this to your NYC itinerary!

I knew The High Line from The 4 seasons of The West-world, when Dolores was awakened from a deep sleep, she usually walks through the High Line Park to her office. At a glance, you will find that every one who was walking around the High Line is so strange, and so weird! That is the post modern style of the High Line Park which reflects these odd sentiments. But as I have the opportunity to walk through the park, I am really deep emerging in the supper vigorous environment. It is such a beautiful, amazing place to enjoy yourself.

A less touristy spot to explore the views of New York (more specifically Hudson Yards) for free! Unlike Times Square, this is a walking trail that offers sightseeing of some of the coolest buildings around. I came around with family and was amazed by the flora planted along the path, especially the gardener who answered questions from my younger cousins. I had been on the High Line a few years ago when it was fairly new and enjoyed it. I decides to come back and visit it with my daughter on the weekend of 9/16,23 and I was very impressed with how well maintained it is and how the plantings have matured. Something I noticed is that the park can be a bit crowded in the narrow parts, but the open areas are great. I would visit again.

  • 4/5 Richard M M. 5 months ago on Google
A victim of its own success, the only downside was the mob of people. It is more like a rush hour subway than a walk in the country. But if you can cope with the crowds it is a fun walk with great art and better views.

I’ve been here twice, and it's a place I really enjoyed. During my first visit, I didn't explore the entire area, so I went back for a second time to fully experience it. It's a must-visit for tourists. When I visited last time, it was quite crowded. However, it remains a beautifully constructed spot that feels unique in the city. While there isn't much to do beyond sitting, observing, and taking photos, on my last visit, I discovered some spots where you can buy a coffee or a quick bite to eat and enjoy your meal. It's an excellent free activity that spans from end to end, and a leisurely walk might take about an hour. Overall, it's a fantastic and highly recommended place to visit.

The High Line is a linear park in New York that transformed an old elevated railway into a green and urban space. Its innovative landscape architecture provides a unique experience, combining nature, art, and design. The site offers panoramic views of the city, artistic installations, and recreational areas. Its successful revitalization has become an inspiring example of urban reuse, positively contributing to the quality of life for residents and visitors.

Amazing walk through the city on an old above ground subway line. Beautifully landscaped walk, with lots to see on route. There are some food outlets after the first 1/4 of the route from the southern end, not sure how seasonal they are. Worth a walk by day and by night to see some very different scenes.

One of the best walks in Manhattan! No trip is complete without walking the high line, very well maintained, amazing views everywhere, lots of crowds near the evening, can get a bit chilly but worth it, there are also bathrooms along the way, many places to enter or exit the high line along the way so you don't have to walk all of it.

Walking the High Line is an experience like no other in New York City. Elevated above the bustling streets, this urban park transforms a historic rail line into a tranquil haven with stunning cityscapes. The blend of modern art installations, beautifully curated gardens, and panoramic views creates a captivating atmosphere. Strolling along the High Line, you're treated to a unique blend of nature and urban architecture. The park's layout encourages leisurely walks, casual seating spots for relaxation, and offers a glimpse into the diverse flora that has been thoughtfully integrated into this once industrial space. Each turn along the path presents something new, from intriguing art pieces to unexpected views of the city's iconic buildings and avenues. Walking the High Line on a crisp morning starting from Hudson Yards was a delight. The juxtaposition of the cold air with the warm sun created a unique atmosphere. The scenic views and urban greenery made the experience absolutely beautiful, blending nature and city seamlessly. A must for anyone seeking a tranquil escape in the heart of New York.
