Today we’re in Midsomer Norton reviewing Jacarandas extensive gluten free cake selection.  Full 4* review at coeliacwellnes.com.  We enjoyed our sharp citrus lime cake with a smooth takeaway coffee.  Observed some really safe coeliac friendly practices.  Will definitely be back to continue working our way through the other seven choices. Update: Just a quick update on a few more cakes from Jacarandas – we tried the gluten free chocolate roulade (one slice had berries and one didn’t), the lemon drizzle and the carrot cake.  This means the team are about half way through the coeliac friendly selection!  Full 4* update at coeliacwellnes.com. The chocolate roulade and the carrot cake were excellent. The lemon drizzle however seemed to leak fluid as it defrosted.  It was a really hot day when we brought them, but it was a shame because the cake texture became really oily. Overall still excellent and looking forward to our next slice of cake.

Visited Midsomer Norton and found jacarandas ... a lovely little cafe with great food plus a good price to boot .. The staff was polite and the food was well presented, they had a bit of patience with me when I couldn't remember the order. ( sorry)... all in all go there if your hungry you won't be disappointed 👍

Visited on a Saturday and was keen to support a local business and not a chain. Despite 3 people working on the till I was largely ignored for several minutes. On member of staff made an effort but the other two were clearly uninterested in being there and seemed more focused on drinking their own drinks than serving customers. Even when finally my order was taken it was left unmade for several more minutes. I estimate I was there for 20 mins in total for 2 hot drinks. The drinks themselves were then too hot to drink and the coffee burnt. I'm sorry...I will try again but the experience was very poor.

The milk in the coffee was steamed so extremely hot that I could barely hold the to go cup and it still managed to burn my tongue after over 5 minutes of walking around without the lid on on a windy day, and the scalded milk ruined the drink. Train your baristas better

I found the staff here really quite unfriendly. No smile or politeness what so ever and the odd scowl. It's a real shame because I would rather support this small business then go to Costa, but the staff are more welcome.

Perhaps all the staff were having a bad day and didn’t feel like being friendly or courteous on our visit. Or perhaps they do not realise or care that pleasant customer service and a friendly smile goes a long way to getting people to return. We will be going elsewhere on our next trip to Midsomer Norton.

Just stopped here for the first time. The sausage, egg, and bacon baguette was delicious. This cafe will definitely be my new favorite.

The service was OK, but the waitresses stood over you waiting for your order before you had time to look at it properly. Food itself was very good and you paid for it when it arrived at your table, good idea then no one can walk out without paying, would go back again

Jacarandas is a fabulous place to drop anchor. The staff are lovely the location is wonderful; just a pavement-width away from a beautiful carefully landscaped little river. During the summer, large bifold doors can be opened, so some of those within can enjoy the burbling water along with souls seated at tables under a canopy outside. Jacarandas serves delicious wholesome food, freshly prepared to order. The cake counter should come with a warning for those with no willpower (guilty as charged). The selection is irresistible. I was compelled to sample what, for me, was a new-take on the venerable chocolate brownie. It had a thick mint filling (think After Eight with nobs on) and generous choccy topping. Don't know who made it, but they deserve an Irresistibility-Medal. In these days of national-chain-caffs, Jacarandas is a super top-dollar local resource which deserves all the loyalty and trade which comes its way. Please check it out.

The sausage end egg sandwich was gorgeous. The pot of tea, piping hot. Great. Just how things should be.. Great service.. Thank you.

The coffee and home made cake is fabulous. As with all things today it's not cheap but where is. The town of Midsomer Norton is so pretty and jacarandas have outside seating so you can watch the world go by when the weather allows.

Popped in for coffee and cake. Young lady behind the desk wasn't loving life and was unsmiling as she took our order. Obviously she didn't really pay attention to what we asked for as approximately 30 seconds later she brought an order that wasn't ours to the table. Our actual order did arrive quickly after that and was all fine. 1 tea 1 coffee and a piece of millionaires shortbread big enough to share was about £7.50, so price was typical for the area and it all tasted good. I'd go back again, give it a go.

The food was OK but the service was very slow. We waited for at least 45 minutes for our breakfast which finally arrived 10 minutes after asking where it was.

Great choice of food, especially cakes including gluten free. Shame that the service didn't come with a smile

Food was ok but the service was incredibly slow, 45 mins , 10 min after asking , to get our breakfast is not good customer service. We are not locals but certainly won't be back if in the area again.

Pleasant cafe in the centre of the shopping area of Midsomer Norton. Good lemon drizzle cake and coffee and at a reasonable price compared to some cafes. You can get lunch there too.

Lovely independent coffee shop in the heart of the high street serving the most delicious home made cakes in town! Special mention for the Carrot cake and Victoria sponge, my personal favourites. Their 'Jac' Muffin and Eggs Benedict/Royale are also very well worth a try.

arrived for breakfast to find a paper plate stuck to the side window saying they were closed today. so unprofessional and upsetting as one of our party was diabetic so needed to eat. Nothing on their facebook page ( don't do facebook so pointless anyway ) Will not try to eat there again. Very poor all in all

Nice little cafe located in the heart of Midsomer Norton with a nice view of the river which runs through the centre of town. There is a good selection of drinks, food and cakes. We ordered a panini and it was really good. The staff were friendly and the prices are on par with other local cafes. It can get very busy and the seating is a bit closer together so can feel quite crowded but other than that it's recommended.

Super café. Serves any kind of coffee and a myriad of quality other drinks. Food was of much choice, quickly served and tasty, nicely presented too. Recommended.
