The rooms were really dirty and worn-down. Had stains on all bedding and towels. Bedding had hair that wasn’t ours when we pulled it back. Individually-wrapped plastic cups had rips in the plastic cover, so I avoided using them in case something had chewed through it or anything could’ve touched the cup. Air conditioning unit wasn’t great. Couldn’t set a temperature in the room, just cool, hot, and fan speed in the little AC unit. The whole place seemed dirty, run-down, and neglected. I would never stay here again, and it honestly makes me reconsider staying at any other Holiday Inn locations.

Do not stay here. The hotel is long overdue for an update and renovations. Everything seems to be falling apart. To start with the elevators barely worked. One elevator the doors would not close and the other one would open the doors while the elevator is still moving. The room was absolutely no better. My comforter had a brown stain on it. Everything in the room had dirt or grime on it. Nothing looked to be wiped down for a while. The bathroom floors were beyond sticky. The shower did not drain which caused me to not even be able to shower. I started it and went to go gather my clothes. When I came back there was 4 or 5 inches of standing water. I turned off the shower let it drain and the debris left over made me want to run out. Pay a little more and find a better place.

Meh service, or lack there off, at Bar Louie after check in. No one was available to seat us. Waited several minutes and no acknowledgement, so we left. I went back down to order drinks to take back to our room half an hour later, as it appeared to have more staff. Service was slow and the glasses were overfilled, making them slippery and sticky. Despite being happy hour, we paid $20 plus tip for a Long Island and a gin and tonic. From our room, we attempted to place an order for Macs & Stacks online, however was told I needed to call to place the order. I attempted to call and it showed on my phone as “bar Louie”, so instead I went downstairs and attempted to place the order in person. After waiting, I was told I could only place the order online. I attempted to call from the bar and it went to voicemail. We eventually ordered dinner from Exclusive Jerk, which was delicious. The next morning, I went to shower and noticed soap scum in our tub. My spouse called the front desk and was offered to have someone come up to clean “immediately.” We declined as at that moment neither of us were dressed. Moments later the fire alarm went off in the hallway. We had to be close to the door to hear what was being said; there was no fire alarm in the room. Our closest stairwell was under construction, however no signs were on the door indicating we should use another. Few guests were seen outside, so we went back in the front door to find a gathering of staff standing in the lobby with their coffees, talking about who could turn the alarm off. We overheard them say there was not a fire, therefore no emergency. Since we were now clothed, I asked for someone to come clean our tub. No one came, so after waiting 30 minutes, my spouse cleaned the tub. The fire alarm went off a second time, two and a half hours later. In the room: the carpet was damp/sticky. The bathroom floor was sticky. On the night stand between the beds, there was only one outlet available. The alarm clock was off by at least 13 hours. The room was dusty, especially around the alarm clock. The bag for the ice bucket was too small and the lid was also too small. Only one regular and one decaf coffee.

Went there for the Super Bowl weekend. This was the biggest and nicest Holiday Day Inn I have ever been to. With the Bar Louie in the lobby. The bed was soft shower was great, TV was nice in size with the Keurig. We will return.

Sorry but one of the most honest reviews I can give Ok location and looks ok from the outside but had to have my room moved right away after checking in the first room was across from a 15 wide wall that was torn down and tented off just a little off putting and my rooms ac unit was as loud as a car without a muffler hall ways are very dark decently a cool main lobby and the staff are very understanding and nice but the building is really starting to show it's age work out room had workout equipment but it was very dated they have a pool BUT IT IS COMPLETLY DRAINED AND CLOSED , but yet they still advertise a pool 🫤 has breakfast but you have to pay for it the second room I got moved too I got a king sized it is very comfy but the AC unit is still a little loud but not as bad as the first room TV didn't work at first cause the coax cable on the back was pulled out of the conector had to gently force it back in ,one lampshade has stains all over it and a bunch of puncture marks , kinda weird and the shower curtain has 2 huge rips in it twards the top ,and sink leaks on to the floor when you wash your hands place does need improvement I'll give it a 2.5 over all and I will be switching hotels tomorrow I no longer have any patience tonight to do it and the bed isn't bad that's the only ok part I'm sorry but I had to be honest

I spent a week here with family. The room we stayed in was clean and front desk staff were available to provide us with towels, shower caps and new card keys when the old ones weren't working. However, if you're not familiar with the area, you'll have to drive to other communities, like Tinley Park, IL, Orland Park, IL or Merrillville, IN for the amenities. Unfortunately, there's no complimentary breakfast. If you have children, please bring extra snacks to munch on until breakfast, lunch or dinner, especially if they're used to sticking to a routine. You also have to flip through the channels on the TV to try to find a program of interest, because there's no guide on the screen. Overall, this hotel is ideal for just an overnight stay before getting back on the road. It's reasonably priced for bare minimum accommodations.

Very nice and clean hotel. Jeremy is the best at making a person feel welcome. Jeremy definitely goes above and beyond and puts 110% into his job. If I was hiring anyone for a job I would definitely try to hire Jeremy for his personality and his drive ti be the very best at his job.

Decent hotel for the money. The staff is always nice. I do wish late check out was more available (they were ‘out’ of them during my last visit?) but I understand why. Would recommend.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Matteson while in training from Rockford. The room sizes were nice and clean and spacious. The access to the parking was awesome and Bar Louie was a really good atmosphere.if your looking for reasonably priced rooms that are clean and comfortable with easy access to expressways the Holiday Inns the place.

Spent 35th year anniversary overnight here. Kim, who was on duty that night, very kind to us. Gave us extended check out with complementary breakfast. Just made us feel so special! Loved the ambience of the hotel. Room was clean, spacious enough, perfect for us.

A few of our family members decided to stay at hotel since we were having a birthday party at hotel. What a big mistake. Our rooms were changed from 1st to 2nd floor which still smelled like mold and mildew. Our room 206 was not clean. The worst Holiday Inn I have stayed. I will not recommend. The 1st floor around banquet rooms and lobby was ok. Tiara and Karen were very helpful during breakfast buffet on Sunday July 9. Front desk staff was helpful

We stayed here before attending a concert at the Hollywood Casino amphitheater and it was close enough to uber (about a 2-3mile walk) and when we returned the Bar was still open and serving food so that was a really nice surprise! Rooms were clean but get a little hot in the night. Just crank your AC before bed if you're a hot sleeper but I definitely recommend the stay.

It took a few tries and changing my room to get me in, but the young lady was very kind and friendly. Kept apologizing and thanking me for my patience. Bar Louies is kinda pricy but the food is good. Only complaint is the cake. Too rich for my taste.

This Holiday Inn is HUGE! Thought I was pulling up to a Casino that's how large the building is. Looks like it was once a Thriving business back in the day. Now it seems to be not so much. Clean hotel but just a bit dated. Helpful and friendly staff. Room was Clean and Well kept. Out dated though. Shower water pressure was Amazing! Has a plethora of rooms to choose from on five yes (5 floors) vending machines and ice on every level. A bit pricey though. Cost me $3.25 for a 16 oz soda from the Soda machine using my debit card. There is no surrounding businesses in sight. But there is a Restaurant/Bar inside named BAR-LOUIE that serves pub food and has drink specials daily. Also serves breakfast every morning at 6am. Price scale $$. Decent place for a one nighter. Or social get together with friends. Parking lot definitely needs an uplift! All in all not a bad place if your in need of a place to stop for the night!

As I walked in through the front door to go check in, it was like I walked through a cloud of smoke that smelt like marijuana.. I get my keys to my room and parked my car. Walking in the smaller door way, there was a young man standing there smoking weed. So, I get to my floor and noticed there is some plastic taped on the floor. Then there was a door that was sealed off like it was being quarantined. The plastic ran from that door to another door that had the same thing. I walked down to the front desk and asked the young man at the check-in if thus was because of bed bugs. His response was, "No, there are no bugs. It's being remodeled. We joke around and tell people that a person was stabbed 17 times in there." That's not funny considering what is goin on in the world. The service at the bar was slow. The bartender was very young and didn't know what products he had. If it wasn't for the young ladies sitting down by me, he would not have even came down my way. I hope I never stay here again.

Poor quality rooms....key card on doors do not work well. On check in bed side table lamp was unplugged ( thought it was not working) maintenance said it was plugged into the wrong outlet. Shower graphic for hot and cold water required some tinkering to get it right just like the door key fob. Outlets on lamp do. not work

The room had a smell, the couch needed to be clean. The refrigerator was not functioning. The maintenance staff did bring me a 5 gallon bucket full of ice to keep my beverages cold. They were polite and friendly and tried to accommodate my needs.

The room lighting was very dull (yellow). Small room, air conditioning was SO LOUD & raggedy sounding. We were located on a pet friendly side of the hotel & the exit door we used to take our dogs out of had tons of fingerprints. The parking lot in the back of the hotel is tore up. I don't know if this used to be in better condition but it was not the Holiday Inn experience we were used to. There was a wedding reception going on the time that we got there so maybe the conference rooms are better than the hotel rooms? There were also dead bugs on the floor of the bathroom. The shower & bedding were the best part of our stay.

Stay here while working in Chicago. It’s an average hotel. I’ve stayed in way worse. Clean rooms. Bar Louie was ok. Staff was very friendly. Food was ok. Nicole at the front desk had to help almost every night as my key card would not work every time I came back in the evening. She was very apologetic and helpful. Definitely the nicest person I’ve dealt with at a hotel desk.
